Good morning Tree Peeps, and welcome to Mayday (May Day?). Bunches of little tootle puffer clouds out there, so we're at least getting a little bit of sun today. Probably have to spend my Sunday out in the horse barn/corral raking, scooping, and moving horse doo-doo to the compost pile - a whole winter's worth of it. No rest for the wicked... uh, farmer/rancher/whatever...

Well, now it's afternoon, LOL. Had some lunch and back outside.

I got some vape mail delivered at work so that's cool... A box of flavouring for some more DIY juice. One of these days I'm going to get my Orange Dreamcycle right!

Just finished watching the cartoon movie Home.. With Jim Parsons.. Too cute!
Anyways I didn't do my grocery shopping because of the weather yesterday so I figured I'd just do it today... Naturally it raining pretty bad again... Ughhh. Well we still have enough to make it a few days food wise, so I guess I'll just go tomorrow after work. I just hate having to go to Walmart after work... Ughhh

They don't really need one....but May Day has become something else the past few years.....I am not sure how much will happen since it's Sunday....there's not much traffic for them to disrupt(the number 1 thing on their list).....but I am sure the Anarchists are planning something.....we shall see...........

Eeep Eeep still lives in the house (and gives us an egg almost every day ), but Twinkie Puppy (one of my cats that thinks she's a dog - follows me everywhere outside) will keep talking to me (she really is a rabid conversationalist) and if I don't slow down when she tells me, her daughter (Xena) shows up and gets in my way so I have to stop. One of the feral cats who lives here (Lannie named him Simba - we think he is Tigger's twin brother) has been sleeping in the chicken coop... he doesn't bother the chickens, but because they spill so much feed, that place is overrun with mice and he's keeping that population in check. Got another feral cat, who might also be related to Tigger, whom I have named Streak (he's a really speedy Silver tabby) who hangs out in the horse barn for the same reason. Anyway, now that I have blathered on too much about catz... I went out there to get started and, even though it is 57 *F and sunny, the ground is still too wet to pick up all the horse crap (drat), and grass is too wet to mow (hey, there's still some snow in the shadows) so I am back in the house. Guess I''ll read or something...

Still not doing to much around here.. We are all kicked back relaxing and watching some TV.. Even the kids which is surprising.

@angelphyre I am sorry you had a tough day yesterday, but at least your friend is in a better place. Prayers sent your way.

Well, come on up here to the Northlands and have some brown eggs for breakfast with us. That's what we eat every morning, picked up the day before... well, maybe longer... now that it is warmer, we're getting at least a dozen a day.

1. Good afternoon Treefam...just now able to get on here as I've been busy trying to put out little fires all over the place, or so it seems, including having to take care of something for the boss because she didn't bother to check her dang calendar and just realized she has court tomorrow and needed something right away.

@Mandikay I hear you on the shopping after work thing, but unfortunately for me that has become my normal Monday routine, since I'm not home on the weekends so the only time I can go is after work. That's why most of the time during the week I always feel like I'm on the go constantly and when I get here on weekends I crash and don't want to do a darn thing!

It's been pouring rain here again today...just hoping it stops before I have to head home tonight...I hate driving in the rain, especially in NOLA.

Ughhh is right (or is it "Yucky Poo"?). Those white eggs (from any store) come from chickens that are kept in cages all their lives, and those that "claim" theirs are "free range" are lying through their teeth to charge extra. I worked one of those farms as a teenager and the chickens get about one square foot per bird - 10,000 chickens in one building with very little natural light. While my coop is small, my birds get to come outside every day and run around the yards and pastures and bushes, then, when the sun sinks slowly in the west, I fill their feeder and they all come back in to have a snack and perch for then night. Most of the eggs we get are not found inside the coop, but either in the horse barn or cow barn in some patch of uneaten hay, or sometimes we pick them up from a nest they made in the lilac hedgerow around the garden. Yummy!

@Fuzzy Thunderbear I think it's yucky poo and ughhh lol.. I hate having to get them from there, the kids and I watched a documentary on Netflix about the way they treat chickens and other animals and it is just horrible! I used to spend the extra money buying the "cage free" eggs and certain meats but after watching that I realized I was wasting my money because just about everything sold in those big box stores is the same :'( I used to have a neighbor whose sister had a farm and she would go there on the weekends and bring me back eggs every week but she moved about 3 months ago and now we are back to the yuck eggs I wonder if I could just find a local small farm that sells them.. It would be worth the try.
