Good morning, everyone.

And congratulations, @Mandikay--err, Mrs. David! You look radiant as a bride--who would have known what happened just a few short days before? I hope you and David have many happy years together.

Ditto!
7/16 - 1

Congrats, @Mandikay ! Great pics. But, shouldn't you be off honeymooning instead of conversing with all these ne'er-do-wells here? :D
DITTO! ;) :2cool:

Yesterday/last night, I did absolutely nothing except eat and watch the whole season of Stranger Things! Loved the show and enjoyed my time in Slugville.

I have a load of laundry going, but soon I will be doing absolutely nothing again. Hallelujah and Amen! :nun:

Have an awesome day, everyone!

I finally got around to changing my leaky tire on the w@%# truck, after pumping it twice a week for 2 months. Amazing that it has 70,000 miles on it, and still plenty of tread. My car has 25,000 on it and less tread than these. Hope everyone has a good Sunday afternoon...

@Mandikay - go do a honeymoon or something related to being the Bride... Have some fun before you both have to go back to work.

Well, spent the day yesterday pulling weeds in the garden (I need a bigger wheelbarrow) until the afternoon thunderstorms showed up (icky nasty types - a friend about 8 miles south of us said he had 2" hail - glad that didn't happen here). Went out to close up the chicken coop early and the downpour was so heavy that I had to stand in the barn (sucking my binkie, of course) for about 45 minutes before I could walk back to the house and my jacket was still totally soaked. We really needed that rain, even though the corral and driveway acted like raging rivers for a while. Today, so far, is clear and bright, so it'll be out to the garden again...

Our local news mentioned the sever thunderstorms in South Dakota--and he mentioned the whole state ("farmers and ranchers are going to be in for a rough time").... See, @Fuzzy Thunderbear, at least one weather person watches out for you! Of course, he's got nothing better to do because the weather here is, well....

We had some scary TStorms a few nights back as well. I stood outside ...on top of my truck, of course... feeling the hot wind kick up ...and watching the blinding flashes ...running sideways across the sky ...not touching Earth like I expected... no rain tho.
Is that anything like the "heat lightning" we used to get back East, Fuzzy??
And of course, I "told" it to go away and move along .... I was counting the time between lightning and thunder (Blitzen and Donner  ) ...and it did move along away from here ....
May the force be always with you, Fuzzy
...and also with you, Tree Fam

    Break time...
("farmers and ranchers are going to be in for a rough time")....
Thanks, Count. :) The forecast is for over 100 degrees for the next three days. Add the humidity from all the rain we just got and I am not liking that picture at all because I have an awful lot of outside work that must be done. Sigh...
running sideways across the sky ...not touching Earth like I expected... no rain tho.
Is that anything like the "heat lightning" we used to get back East, Fuzzy??
Well. "heat" merely causes the buildup of static (abundance of electrons in one area, asking for release). Lightning, technically, could happen without thunderstorms, but is unlikely because it is the storm that creates enough static to demand a discharge. And, from that, there are basically three types: Inner Cloud (discharge all within the same cloud), Cloud to Cloud (one storm zaps the one next to it), and Cloud to Ground (the ones that cause property damage and/or kills people who stand on their pickups to watch the storm). :( We all talk about lightning striking the ground/tree/house/whatever, but in reality, it is the ground that zaps the cloud. The lightning you see happens after the circuit is complete and travels back down the electron stream, making it appear as if the cloud zapped the ground. Thunder, obviously, is the sound produced by rapid expansion of the air around the lightning due to the extreme heat causing expansion and contraction (which is why they used to be called Thunder Claps).
Fuzzy stay safe there is going to be some strange things happening...
Is that an astrological prediction about weather or are we being invaded by UN troops who want to help O'bummer become our permanent dictator? Or was that Turkey? Whatever... ;)

no really just a feeling I got earlier....
Pay attention to those "feelings," Blue. And, if you can, meditate to try to focus on what is causing them. I, personally, am, at this point in time, getting most of my thoughts overwhelmed by a worry about what is going on in the huge magma chamber under Jellystone National Park. IF that blows, lots of people for many states around will be departing this dimension. And that will also give the government an excuse to declare a state of emergency (which, of course, will mobilize the troops, suspend elections, move people to FEMA compounds, etc.).

...what..no standing on pickups to watch the storm?? ...I guess I've been listening to too much of that "the rubber in the tires will insulate you"... "a car is the safest place to be" .....or is that if a power line falls on your car?
Jelly Stone caldera better just behave itself!! :grr: ( because I may be too close ...)
