Wishing Duddy a speedy recovery :nun: That was kind of you to hunt for Duddy. Reminds me of all the times my bros and I would go out digging up the compost pile for night crawlers ....or soaking the lawn with hot soapy water...never giving a thot that fish prob dont like soapy worms
I would give the fish a worm before turning it loose after catching it ...figuring it's poor lil mouth was prob sore ....I was not catching them to eat (too small) ...in other words...sport fishing
:tumble:

He says thank you :) He is doing very good today. He was quacking and walking fast again...Well waddling fast ;) He much appreciated the worms I grabbed for him. It's hard to get a worm when the chickens are there...They are fast little snatchers!
I bet the fish appreciated the worm gift for their time :)

126 - 2: Have only been fishing four or five times, desert here and the big bodies of water are about two hours drive any direction. Yes remember the fish in the water smell well. Once on a three week vacation to Colorado, I tried and tried, but best I came to the fish jumped out of the water and took the bait off the hook. Along comes another fisherman "fly" fishing I was amazed he did not hook himself, and caught fish after fish.

Saw something today that I have not seen in these parts for almost 30 years, called a devil's head or devil's horn. A plants seed with two long hooks to grab onto big animals and be carried long distances and dropped. Saw four of them.

I haven't been fishing for years, but used to fish about every single day...of course we had a pond on our farm and one on my grandparent's farm too so we could go whenever we wanted...and since we owned it, no licenses needed....I miss those days. @DaleH1985 you should definitely teach your daughter to fish...those are some of my best memories, fishing with my daddy when I was a little girl!

Wow you reminded me, been fishing more than I remembered. Grandmother on my Mom' side had a large pond in Mississippi, that was not even on the maps at the time. Only friends and family allowed so good chances, still did not get one and we did not visit very often; long drive. Weird thing is the movie Inferno was always on the TV.
In boy scouts we would go down to these campgrounds and it had a creek. They were showing us how to fish with just poles no reels. They told us about this big black fish no one had ever been able to catch and low and behold here is this massive fish black fish and maybe 3 feet and longer. Everyone has their line in and waiting watching the bobbers and mine goes down and I tug. I pull back slow and walk backwards. Just as the big black fish is coming into view the line broke, this close (puts fingers together)

Other than some half-hearted attempts while I was a kid (my friend and I begged his dad--the FRAD, actually--to take us one day and we were bored to tears), the closest I come to fishing is cleaning my plate when I have seafood.

Duddy looks like a real ham, posing for that photo like that!

Good night, Treefam!

When me and my brother were kids we would grab our poles and ride our bikes down to the river. Well one day my brother cast his line and by some odd chance his hook snags a seagull. Funniest thing I have ever seen watching my brother jerking his pole back and forth up in the air while this seagull is trying to fly away. I don't think it could ever possibly happen again even if he tried.

Good morning, everyone.

My son will be staying home sick today. I remember that when I was a kid and stayed home sick, I hated the midday hours because all they showed on TV were soap operas and other things that I didn't like. I had to wait until 2 pm or so for them to start showing things like Gilligan's Island reruns. Now, my son just flips on Netflix and watches things like Scooby Doo all day...
