Blustery day here and the temperature is falling like a rock. W hasn't been too bad but just not feeling it. So far 2017 has been a little rough. Somehow it seem like when things start to go well, something goes off. Uugh. I try to remember that there are a lot of people in the world with way bigger problems and in the grand scheme of things I'm pretty well off. :)

Hope everything is well. Catch ya later. :D

SLM that is so true....and a good way to think, when things seem so big & bad...there are so many who are less fortunate..........sometimes things happen just to remind you of how good you have it.....and I am sure when you really think of the bad things that you have to deal with if at the time you realize how much worse it could have been......instead of "poor me".....I must say it took me many years to learn that lesson....but now I am so grateful for the things I do have!!! Especially lately.....(Thank you Treefam:wub:)...

It's a hard lesson to learn isn't it? It's easy to get down when something that seemed so great goes so bad so fast. But as the saying sorta goes... This to shall pass. It just seems to get harder to bounce back. But then there's the Everything happens for a reason thing. :) The next thing will be better.

1/4 - 3: Okay W day down and it was actually kinda real nice, will not happen for a while as I was put on fabricating braces for lights, the thin metal sheeting will be too thin and will not support the weight. So the supervisor I was with left as he said he would and I am in limbo but with another.

First I have to cut metal strut in half, no problem ten ' divided by two is 5' draw a straight line and cut. So ten metal struts to 20 5' struts, then find center again and mark, still easy. The hard part each light, and there are 16, already has two supports that are threaded, so the cuts have to be on the mark as we have to worry about water damage and use a 3/4 inch hole saw that cuts steal.

He tells me that the supports are 24 and 2/3rds apart and leaves me to do my thing, knowing it is always best to measure twice cut once, I check and disagree. By lunch he comes to check on me, and I ask him to verify the distance and see if we agree, and tell him my measurement. To his shock and trying to come up with a few excuses, and checking eight more lights my measurement is in fact correct and I have divided, and drawn the half marks the, and he got this wrong as well, not a sixteenth a thirty-second of an inch. All the marks were made and sitting in line pretty.

Back from lunch he wants to start to measure the outside, that is 84 and one half inch from side to side. No I said 84 and 5/8 and even went back and said "I think we are about to do this wrong." LOL as in he instructed me wrong on how to get center on the doors. Right again, and he came back to find that I was already cutting the struts, each fit perfect. Had we done it his way all would have not worked. By the end of the day he said. "If it was not so long your nickname would be "Mr sixteenth of an inch."" LOL yeah worked in the last office in Texas that drew blueprints by hand.

Awesome @tiggerrts That's great! Glad it all worked out too. Some supers wouldn't have been as cool about it!

Two hours twenty left in my W day. I have to keep reminding myself it's Wednesday. Being off on a Tuesday has me all out of whack. Work tomorrow and then off again on Friday. I feel like I need it.

Hope everyone is having a nice evening. Catch ya later all.

1/4 - 4: The bump in the night story..... So I said I have had mice that I have been catching, all seemed to be gone, but when the cats are away apparently the mice will come back. I can hear them when they scamper and have not seen or heard any for some time. But still a ruckus in the basement like I said before but louder.

Well I finally spotted an orange tabby stray, super thin and small, and check. No brick missing or siding, not a broken piece of glass, still dumbfounded as the bumps are so much louder. The mouse is 3' long. No I finally get curious enough and get on my hands and knees down to the ground and look, the sound always right under my head.

There is a tiny gap between the brick and siding, and the cat must squeeze in each night around 2 in the morning and 3. Chasing the mice by ear, and bouncing around the duct, trusses and other. There is a two foot gap between the basement and the living floor. I did go down once in the middle of the night with a broom and beat the basement ceiling and listened as it just "slithered" from one side to the other.

Now I am just like whatever, if I am in deep enough sleep I go through it, if not awakened and listen as the cat does its thing. Well go boy or girl and get them! Never been afraid of that bump in the night, though that one time when hearing hissing I thought rabies and waited until the morning with more "ammo."
