Sigh. I have to go to the DMV to get my driver's license renewed. I forgot to deal with it earlier and now it will expire in less than a week. I guess I'll spend the day standing in line.

That's one of the lovely things about small town life... no lines at the DMV. I've never waited more than 5 or 10 minutes... sitting in a chair, no less.

Oh I remember those times with no waiting in long lines for a licence.........and people were polite and cared about what you thought about how they treated you.....
but alas....those days are long gone.....now you get a put in a line for hours with people who don't know what they are doing......They just follow what the computer says...right or wrong......

The last time I went into an auto parts shop to get some wiper blades the guy actually asked what size the engine was...I asked him what that had to do with the length of the wipers I needed....he replied "uhh well the question box just came up so I asked you"...........so I said 1040............LOL

Back from the DMV.... I only had to wait for 45 numbers before me... with the "G" prefix (plenty of other numbers in other prefixes, too).

That's one of the lovely things about small town life... no lines at the DMV. I've never waited more than 5 or 10 minutes... sitting in a chair, no less.

I was fortunate that the person helping me was relatively competent. Fortunately, my stuff was pretty straight-forward--all I really had to do was pay, but since it could take up to 60 days for my new license to be issued, I needed to have a piece of paper saying that I paid and even showing an internet receipt wouldn't work (I looked it up). As a bonus, for going into the office, I also got a new photo (which I was not expecting) and got to be added to the system: the state now fingerprints for drivers licenses... I actually found a chair, too, but gave it up to an older lady after about 10 minutes of sitting. All in all, the process took about 3 hours of my life that I will never have back...

Guess who finally got internet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uncle - Very funny! Last year, I only bought one thing. A Nautilus tank because they were practically giving them away! I'm more frugal while shopping in person, than online. (I should explore that further at a later date.) This year, I've got my eye out for one device. I've done my homework. If it's a good deal, then yes, I will buy one new shiny.

Count, it's an all day affair to get your licence renewed here, unless you go to the self-service machine and do it yourself. I'm not sure why more people don't use it, but I've never seen anyone when I've been there. I use it, I hate sitting at the DMV.

My birthday present finally arrived today I got a silver Sigelei 50w Vr2. Now, if my Jwrap will hurry up and get here, I'll have all my b-day presents..lol.
