Phone lines have their own power - low voltage - so regular landlines still work when power goes out. Now if you have one of them fancy phones that uses power for fax, answering machine or whatever the extra stuff won't work and the regular phone part may be hit or miss.

Has not been a good day at work. Users flooded the in box after I left yesterday, got a bunch of calls asking for things they can't have or for stuff they should know and wanting to shortcut things. Lost outside internet connection a few times. Then they just call for a meeting that starts 30 minutes before I'm supposed to leave - these things always drag out - ain't staying late cause not for anything important - quitting time hits and I'm leaving.
Need to start shutting things down now.

@Shawn Hoefer That phone bill needs to go (Is it just for 2 people?) That is a lot for Cell phones!

Oh, no no no... that cell bill covers 5 phones - all of 'em smart - and 2 LTE tablets sharing unlimited minutes, unlimited text, and 30 gb data.

Our mortgage is $471
Our car insurance is $60
Our feed bill is about $670

Man I wish the bills around here were as low as you guys have been saying. Rent alone at the new house I'm looking at is $825 and it's not a very nice house, but it has a bedroom and a half bath on the first floor that I need for Wifey as she has a really hard time with stairs. My gas and electric is a PIP (percentage of income) plan and are $127 each a month. That's just part of the bills. My copay on Wifey's monthly meds is almost $200. It seems to go on and on.

The low voltage for a true landline only works if you have a corded phone; cordless phones need more power for the base station. Add in VoIP and ...

Found out last night that Reno is having flash flooding with thunder and lighting storms!

So much for pool time.
Also found out that the clouds comps have been moved to local vape shops, instead of at the convention.

Now, I'm leaving for work.

Thank Count...yes the nights have actually been in the 60's and kinda nice....the smoke has been hovering in the air from all the fires both here & from Canada....
FYI...this is not too far and should tell you how hot it's been here....

@Shawn Hoefer Well then that's not too bad. Out $97 covers 2 smart phone (4G LTE) unlimited text/calls/data. We got in at a promo time, so they can't unlimited our data xD

@jpf880 That's actually not bad for a house payment. $825/Mo. Our rent is only $550 because it's an apartment, and not a great part of town.. My parents pay $950/mo for there house rent.

@CountBoredom I can almost guarantee that the casino isn't using a fog machine, but there are people smoking in them. LOL

I wish I had a damn car :/ I would be in Reno this weekend if I did!
I live sooo close!
