Does anyone know if there is a safe glow-in-the-dark liquid that may work in e-juice? There are a very few glow in the dark drinks out there, but I dunno how safe it would be taken into the lungs. Glow in the dark vapor anyone? :) Some glow in the dark substances only work under a black light. -Moderators feel free to move this post to the diy section, I realize now I shoulda put it there.

I am intrigued. Could really freak some people out. It would almost be worth hanging out at a nuclear reactor site. Just to see the look on people's faces.

A quick internet search I conducted hasnt turned up anything safe yet. There are a few that lead in the right direction though.

Maybe these guys have something that could work.

prolume.com/Biolume/BIOLUME.HTM
Awesome link Ataki, thanks! That would be just the right stuff I would venture to maybe even try out. Looks like they are waiting for their product to be FDA approved while we are waiting for our product to be FDA banned Lol, it says they have a few years wait. I wonder if it would clog atomizers? And I must be a brave dude saying id try it as glow in the dark lungs sound freaky and a bit scary.

They are saying it would be safe in food and soda as well. Glow in the dark pee? I dunno but very interesting possibilities if these guys go live.

And yes, it probably would be safer than smoking the radioactive ingrediants in tobacco, as this is all natural stuff. Perhaps something unnaproved will come out of China one of these days LOL :)

ok so far this is the only thing I've found to produce colored vapor........I'm quite certain it would work because one of my batts had the cap broke off the LED and I can blow some blue vapor at night

They are saying it is "safe" because it comes from fish and shrimp; however, one of the most common allergies is to shellfish, so this stuff would have to have Large Warnings if it were ever used. Most people with shellfish allergies are effected the worst by shrimp.

You know how I know when I tell you that the only place I could ever vape this is perhaps the lobby of the local hospital emergency room. Oh, and BTW, I'm jealous because it looks so cool that I really do want to vape it.

in all actuality it would most likely be a very bad idea
I agree. It is tantalizing and fun to think about, but in our crazy nanny world, we are all viewed as kids by those in power. At first I was almost serious, but just imagine if this awesomeness happened. Marketed to kids? Unfortunately this would be the ultimate catalyst for a ban, cause as a kid if a friend took out one of these at, say, a sleepover, id wanna try!

I just wish personal responsibility still existed on the part of the parents, their kids, adults, EVERYONE and wish we were all free (exept kids, parents need to keep them safe) to do something at our own risks nowadays without having ANTI'S descend upon our personal space. This lol is still a bad idea healthwise, very dangerous.

unfortunately true.. even if a safe formula (which that stuff linked to might possibly be) was found, the anti's would be all over the "for the children" thing.. indeed what finally drove me to try e-cigs in the first place was not a desire to quit smoking but the search for a replacement for the only kind of cigs i smoked (cloves) recently being banned for that very reason. i'm 47 freaking years old but must be reduced to the level of a 12 year old because my smoke of choice just might appeal to them. utterly pathetic.

fortunately i'm really enjoying my e-cig so far, but your point is well taken. just the fact they come in so many flavours (the reason i like them) will make them a target, and i'd look for the non-tobacco flavours to be possibly put on the chopping block as a condition for FDA approval if we go that route.

I dont even think we have that kind of luck at this point. Lets face it, unless the ECA and others can break this path that the e-cig has taken, it will be banned. The FDA knew exactly what they were doing when they put out that report, and unfortunately, it has worked and people now ridicule us. They almost dont even have to ban it anymore, whos gonna take up e-smoking after reading that and not knowing all the facts. The word Anti-freeze is a powerful one if you think about it.

smart people who take the time to sort hype from fact.. in other words, what you said.. *sigh* .. it's a soundbyte culture.. dang public schools!

that said i've turned several people onto them already and a friend of mine who runs a store that specialised in cloves and exotic flavoured cigs is looking into carrying them, as many of her customers have been inquiring about them. never say never..

I hear ya there. Public schools arent a place for learning anymore at least in some part. Lets hope these things are allowed to fly, to improve, to work out the kinks, to become even safer, and to allow the manufacturers to be held to responsibility for anything that harms us. No one has died yet from anything ive read, and hopefully will not, so there is a glimmer of hope there. And the e-cig community is a very dedicated and bright community that has a passion for this thing that has improved their lives, including mine, and a support foundation to boot! These facts are our only hope, but id prepare for a ban with any spare means possible.

As far as the original topic (glow in the dark juice) goes, I also think that would be extremely cool. However, after vaping anything made from shellfish I would be extremely dead. Stupid allergies.

As a general rule in nature, anything fluorescent or luminescent will totally kill you, often in excruciatingly painful ways...
