For Americans (Maybe abroad as well, not sure with the conversions or if they even ship intl.) [had to take url out ] for $10.64 (Total AFTER shipping!!!) I ordered Friday and got today. (Monday) Very pleased, can't wait to start vaping!

hey - i'm american and i'm glad i waited and read all the way down this thread to your post - at first i noticed someone suggested the now foods link and when i went there it had the product but no buy option and it had a store finder link - i found a store a couple of miles from here but being too lazy to go get it ( because of inhaling tons of tar from $ 32 a 6 oz can of buglars ) i kept reading and wah lah - you ended my glycerin quest -

just like you i am still in pre-vape mode and should get my stuff in a couple of days and i can hardly wait !

thanks a mundo - hey - i am in jax - you might be in my neighborhood - of course that means you could be 20 miles away - but in jax that may still be in jax - in some places this town is more than 25 miles from one end to the other

in my first post about cartridge filling ( link below ) - i listed the stuff i am getting - did i say i can hardly wait ? ! - i got my hemp twine fibers all unravelled and ready to go ! and my glycerine is now on the way thanks to you !

i think the only things left are a solar charger and usb battery charger so if the power goes out i can still charge batteries - but what if the power goes out and it is raining or night time ? - when i think about ecigs helping me finally to quit the smoke i get so paranoid about not being able to vape that i start thinking about alternate ways - like maybe a solar mirror or magnifying glass that concentrates the light / heat to a clear glass or dark metal atomizer or an atomizer that can get the heat source from an external flame somehow - or rubbing two ejuice saturated sticks together really fast

can't put url in but my first post is on the 7th page of the ' what is your favorite cartridge filler ' thread .

ok as usual - i am getting silly now ->

anyway........ i was asking around last week about cutting my liquids, and I can't find the reply now, but someone told me to check out whole foods for the vg. I found it there, and it is in the beauty section.

the name brand is natures answer

pure vegetable glycerin

alcohol free-extract

holistically balanced

the back label says:
Pure vegetable glycerin provides nourishing support to the skin. It contains an array of healing properties that help in soothing and moisturizing tired and irritated skin. Safe for internal use.

It was LaceyUnderall that suggested I go to whole foods. Since I cant post the link, you can do a search for eliquid for dummies, it's on page 2.

I haven't actually used the glycerin. I don't smoke, but bought the yeti for my husband, and am now trying to find a mixture that he can vape w/out coughing so hard. When I ordered the kit, it came w/ 5 carts full of "high" marlboro, and I bought 18mg marlboro and grape........... but now we are going to try a glycerin base to see if that helps. I ordered the vg 36mg non flavored and a bunch of lorann flavorings last night, so hopefully, we can get this so he can enjoy it, w/out a sore throat or coughing w/ every hit.

oh - sorry - i guess i missed you posting that it was for your husband previously - sorry -

if he is having a lot of trouble with the juice then you may want to consider a dry type vaporizer that can vape the tobacco - maybe not as clean as liquid but i think you get hardly any tar that way

i have been seeing them online - first time today - never knew about them before - i saw one relatively cheap portable model called a
pocket vapor
vp - 600
i think it is about $60
do a google search for vaporizers and you will see very many different models etc .

i ordered a bunch of ecig stuff and i am waiting for it but now that i see all these other type of vaporizers - i am starting to wonder if i would rather have one of those -
so now i am thinking about trying to sell all the stuff that i get before i even open it - so i can get one of the other types instead

i hope the glycerin works - but if not - there is a classifieds section in this forum and maybe you can sell the stuff you have and try the other types

My experience with Glycerine :
I vaped 11mg cut with Glycerine for 2months and I started to get an almost continuous empty feeling in my stomach which in turn led me to eat more, I also got a little bit blotchy around my abdomen and very small amounts of acne on my face (I never suffered acne even as a teenager). I put a stone and a half on in weight (21 pounds) in that period, mostly I think due to the stomach effects.
I've been back on 100% PG now for two weeks and those symptoms are gone and I'm losing the weight albeit slowly. I didn't have a weight problem anyway and my BMI was still perfect with the increase but I imagine it might push some into being overweight.
My PG for cutting came from Mistral on E-Bay.

Glycerin is used as part of the formulation in asthma MDI's (metered dose inhalers) as well as in Nasonex and these have been approved by the FDA.

Recent studies show:
In humans, the licensed use of Clenil Modulite (an asthma inhaler) permits a maximum of 8mg of glycerol inhaled in one day or 0.16mg/kg/day based on a 50kg adult. The toxicology of glycerol following administration by inhalation was investigated in an 13-week inhalation study of aerolised glycerol in rats10 using doses in rats equivalent to 20mg/kg/day and 76mg/kg/day in humans which is 125 and 475 times higher than the maximum dose delivered through Clenil Modulite. Additionally, the ACGIH (1996) has reported that bio-kinetic studies indicate that a 70kg adult should be able to metabolise and excrete over two grams of glycerol per eight hour work day.11 It is on this basis that the present threshold limit (TLV) for inhaled glycerol is set for that of respirable nuisance particulates.11 The doses used in the 13 week study were 16.5 and 61 times the TLV. Based upon the results of the 13 week inhalation toxicology results, the use of up to 1mg/puff of glycerol in Clenil Modulite is not considered to pose a risk to patients as stated in the Clenil Modulite SPC.

Hope this helps.

interesting information

think about it - you use 1 ml of juice and how much of that stays in and how much do you exhale ?

i would guess that at least 10 to 20 times more is exhaled than is absorbed so maybe you are not getting as much as you might think

Vegetable glycerin can be obtained from Michaels craft store in the cake section. It comes in a 2oz. bottle for about $2.99.

I tried to find glycerin at my Michaels, but they don't have any food grade, only candle stuff. I got it from LorAnn's though, the picture was pretty small, and it didn't say much of anything in the description, so I hope it's the right stuff. If not it was pretty cheap and I was ordering flavors anyways lol.

how long have you been vaping ? me about 6 weeks

please be carful with those flavors unless you have used them before
are you familiar with some other threads here that tell about people getting panic attacks and such from vaping ?

i for one ordered my favorite of all time flavors from lorann oils
coconut and cherry
i have not tried the cherry yet ( afraid to )
but if i put even the smallest amount of the coconut flavor in my juice and vape it - within 10 seconds i start getting symptoms of panic attacks

at first it was really bad because i put a lot it - but i did not know that was what was causing it until i tried different juice etc

so now i have two bottles of juice that i can't use because i mixed the flavor in them

i will just give them away or trade for another juice from someone

look at this thread

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...panic-not-again-say-aint-so-3.html#post429200

oh you can get 16 oz of vegetable glycerin from now foods

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/1308-glycerin-17.html#post429163

go to the bottom for the store finder link and see if there is a store near you that you can get it from

ingredient label: glyerin 99.5% anhydrous(which means no water right?)
helps prevent temp chafed or cracked skin and lips do not apply over puncture wounds, infections or lacerations. : keep out of reach of childre in case of accidental over dose call poison control bla blah no internal warning just says skin protectant is this good to use? that warning label about poison control freaks me out but it is usp? soooo? oh brand is good neighbor pharmacy. found in harmons pharmacy

Go to the skin care aisle of most any pharmacy and you'll find a small(usually 6oz) bottle labled Glycerine, USP(Some pharmacies don't carry outright , but will special order for you). The label may have it listed as CVS Glycerine, USP or Rite Aid Glycerine, USP or Humco Glycerine, USP or Family Pharmacy Glycerine, USP etc.. you get my point. Whatever it's labeled, it's Glycerine, USP 99.5% anhydrous(meaning 0.5% water). It will cost anywhere from $3 to $6 for 6oz.(CHEAP) This is vegetable glycerine, absolutely, positively, no doubt. How do I know this? I'm a pharmacist. All OTC glycerine,USP is made by 1 single manufacturer, HUMCO. It is then contract packaged into the different pharmacy labeled bottles. I've personally called HUMCO and spoke with their QA(quality assurance) person. He assured me that HUMCO's Glycerine is in fact Vegetable source Glycerine. The reason it's labeled Glycerine and not Vegetable Glycerine is because #1 it is listed in the USP as Glycerine, USP and therefore(in order to keep the USP certification) must be labeled as it's listed in the USP. #2 it would cause confusion as Glycerine is Glycerine(regardless of the source), to add the moniker VEGETABLE, makes it sound like it's two different and distinct products, it isn't. Also, USP grade Glycerine is the purest you can get. Food Grade "vegetable Glycerine" you get in health food store saying 99.9% is BS. Since they do not have to meet any standard(such as USP standards) they could say anything, they could say 10000% pure. If you get USP grade, you know you are getting exactly what is labeled(within allowable USP limits) and it is made to most stringent requirements available in the US. (i.e. USP stands for United States Pharmacopeia- drugs have meet higher standards then foods do)

I've found Wilton Glycerine for $2.49 for a 2 FL oz bottle at Hobby Lobby and Joan Fabrics. Wilton Glycerine is food grade glycerine and is 100% glycerine.

Apparently walmart only seem to sell non-food-grade glycerine (for skin, external use).

When i went on my hunt for glycerine i found that Hobby Lobby also sells LorAnn flavorings two bottles of 3.7ML for $3.28. They had all kinds of flavors, i picked up Grape, Apple and Raspberry today, now if only i can find some dam empty eyedropper bottles or some cheap high mg nicotine juice...

If you read my post (right above yours) you'll see the walmart glycerine,USP is exactly the same. Since Wilton's glycerine is not USP, they can say it's 10000% pure. Please read my post, it will save you alot of money and searching in the long run.

@markarich159 thanks for clearing up the confusion. i actually bought the glycerine from walmart today and returned it an hour later to buy the Wilton glycerine at Joan Fabrics. I was really worried that the glycerine at walmart was not the right for vaping, great info though, my next glycerine buy i will be sure to get the USP grade. it's funny i was standing there staring at the walmart glycerine label trying to figure out if the 99.5% was important. thanks again for the info, the bottle was much bigger and was only like $3.

here is the MSDS sheet, but i don't know what any of it means really.
