Here
Hiya,
Overwhelmed by all the shops and choices. Have spent days going through pages and pages.

I think I want a small/stream-lined e-cig to start out. I'd want something I could keep in my pocket, so don't want something that could leak. I drop things, get things dirty (smoking while gardening!) so durability is key. I want quality but also affordability. If a generic model works fine, then I'll do that. I'd plan on buying the liquid from the same vendor as the kit, so quality juice is important. I get migraines, and many preservatives wreck havoc on me. I don't know if they're an issue with the juices, but I just know for foods/smells, the less artificial the better.

I feel like the eGo might feel too big/bulky for me right now, so I think a regular 510 would be best. Or 510-T?

Background: Not a heavy smoker, but feel I "need" it, for anxiety. :p I've justified smoking with relating it to the research being done on Alzheimer's patients and how nicotine might help prevent/lessen it, and how it's a stimulant and allows for better memory function, etc. Currently I'm a bit higher in my consuming, for me, getting up to maybe 6 cigs/day or ~2pks/week. I smoke American Spirit menthol lights (the lime green box). I've sometimes done the dark green (regular menthol) but sometimes found those too strong.
I've tried the disposable electronic cigarettes available at drug stores and I've really liked them. I don't like how they don't last that long. Those labeled that they're the equivalent of 2 packs seem like maybe 2 cigarettes. But also perhaps I've been spoiled by those American Spirit cigarettes which I feel last longer than anything else I've smoked. Well, besides clove cigarettes. Yeah, I do those when they're available. Also, I love smoking hooka.
Ok, wasted too much time writing this post, sending it, hoping to get some help. Thanks

A lot of people who want small things end up getting the Volt by Smokeless Image. If I was gonna go that route, I'd get a manual (push the button to activate)... just because with auto's you have to inhale for a second or two before they activate, and ecigs require a longer draw anyway.

Most people here started out with a smaller one... they only reason we get something huge is because it's more reliable, produces more vapor, tastes better, last longer, and ends up costing less... but hey, we've all got to start somewhere. I went through a Mystic, two blu starters, and countless disposables.

Also they're fundamentally all the same, e-liquid's universal. Why would you limit yourself to one company?

If you're into the Volt, check out some reviews and use the code "ECR69" for 15% off at SmokelessImage's website.

...but I'd really recommend starting with an eGo twist, cartomizer tank, charger, and liquid.

For a mini, which is the thinnest you are going to get, go with the smokeless image volt. They have excellent customer service and fast shipping. The 78mm battery lasts 3-4 hours of moderate vaping. They are 3.7v, which is higher than the standard ego or joye510. In addition, they sell the x2, which is an ego style battery available from 650mah - 1300mah. It uses all the cartos, clearos, and ce3 from the small battery plus ego devices like the t2 and vision stardust. That allows you to use your small batteries and a larger on if you want. I use my slim mini batteries ant work and the x2 at home. They are reasonably priced with 2 battery starter kits from $45. There is also a 15% off coupon

Here is a video on the volt.

I'm a former American Spirit RYO smoker, and they do spoil you. I started with Blu and then a Volcano. But what really worked for me was Volcano's Magma Tankomizer. You can get standard batteries or mega batteries that make it longer like 100s. Volcano is expensive, but they're products always worked great for me. I've moved on to a vv but having a pv that is the same size as an analog is essential for me. I could have never quit smoking without one. I still have mine but rarely use it. I also started with tobacco flavors, but have since stopped using them.

The eGo twist is awesome. If you've got the money, get one of each. You have to have some backup options in case one gets broken anyway.

Smokeless image also has a great promo on here for a free battery. Once you get you gear, you can go to their subforum here and in the sticky section there is a thread called "faces of volt". Post a pic of yourself with your volt and they will send you a free battery, bottle of juice or pack of cartos

Just over a month ago I was in the exact same boat. I think it was Mroutlaw who recommended the Volt. Sick of reading/watching countless reviews and getting nowhere, I went with it and I have not been even slightly close to disappointed with it. Since getting it, I've had 4 other people wanting to try it get one, and they have had nothing but good things to say about it. If you want something small (like a cigarette) that is good quality from a company with great service, I strongly urge you to consider getting the Volt.

I have never seen a USA seller sell a 2 battery kit this well priced.

DejaVu, I remember the first unit I ever bought and it was like the Volt. Puny, by the time I finished using one battery the next wouldn't even be charged yet.

Hey though if you really are a light Vapor it should be enough. I started out with one of those and in no time I was toting a Provari. After going through at least 4 models that lasted from 2 weeks to maximum 1 year.

No warranty on Riva Starter Kit | Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit | E Cig Kit at LiteCigUSA!?! Too bad, price is nice.

Never buy a battery that doesn't have at least a 14 day return policy and a minimum of 90 day warranty.

Remember, all this stuff comes from china. Quality control is non existent over there. Any good, reputable vendor will know that and offer a decent warranty. That's why I like smokeless image.

Dont get the BLU
the Blu Blows

Freinds dont let freinds get Blu

The Blu disposable e-cig was the first one I tried. It said "America's #1 e-Cig!" or some such, so it had to be the best. Well I did like it, but the next day it didn't work. I felt I got barely 2 cigarettes worth. At least with the other disposables the lights still blink when I suck on them, indicating they're spent. The Blu indeed blows. :-(

I didn't even know about the Volt or Volcano! They do look like what I'm after, but their prices aren't. I'd like my first setup to be $50 or less (though adding all sorts of yummy sounding flavors certainly makes that shopping cart heavy! Really will have to restrain myself...:p) I liked all those Volt colors, though. :)
So...510...Ego...Twist...and shout, cuz I'm back again to lots of choices.
You guys are awesome, by the way.

Hi Flarg,

The Volt Standard Starter kit is under $50
Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Volt - Standard Starter Kit - Starter Kits

Plus if you look around you can find coupon codes to get a discount on your first order. I'm sure MrOutlaw has one handy...

My only recommendation is figure out what strength nicotine you want and get one step higher! I found I had to up my nicotine content to really stop the cravings for a cigarette.

I use volts myself and I really like them. I've gotten others to start using them too. I've also gotten an eGo Twist that I like alot but I always go back to my volts.

Yeah you can get the 2 battery/5 pack cartomizer/charger starter kit from Volt for something like $40-45 and then I'm pretty sure I saw a code for SmokelessImage on their forum yesterday good for 15% off your order. So you could order that starter kit, grab a 5-pack cartomizer sampler pack with it, and then buy another 5-pack cartomizer sampler of 5 other flavours for less than $50 (minus shipping I would imagine, although SmokelessImage was pretty reasonable on the shipping prices IIRC.
