I've purchased some Go-go products ... their 1300 mah battery is only slightly smaller dia than the IP, but much shorter, and they have a re-chargeable 18650 roughly the same size ... and they have a vv mod, not good quality tho I hear ... they are re-branded Hatch from Lifeking Technology Co., Ltd. Shenzhen City ... they (Lifeking) seem to be aiming for the same market you are

Ya know, I have a friend who is an electronics wiz. He works with robotics at his desk. He also knows all about these things. Plus, he can get to his colleges computer, and run almost anything on the simulator. If we need to figure out the right doodad or gizmo, I can dial him up.

I want the EvvO! We will make this work. Plus, how often do you get someone, like NotCigs, listening to the community, in designing this thing. I think we all owe it to ourselves, to make sure this happens. ;-)

In terms of diameter of the PV, you have to consider the diameter of the inner and outer of the tube. From what Buzzkill says, he's keeping the current size of the tube for the envy (18mm outer diameter) so thinning it out at this time is most likely not gonna happen. at the very least, the length of the envy is shorter than the BP so that itself is already an improvement. If he manages to get a flush top cap, it'll shorten the envy a bit more.

As for talking about battery life. I dont think it's wise to try and use batteries that will only give off a max of 4 hours. Even though you will have 4 hours of the best vape of your life, it would become too tedious for people who want an upgrade from the ego but need the PV to last most of the day. Who honestly wants to change their batteries twice in a day. especially since the design is using 2 batteries. that would mean u are pocketing 4 batteries on top of your juice and maybe a spare carto/atty. not very worth it for those that dont have many pockets or a bag they carry around.

The Infinity Pro is 9mm smaller than the Buzz Pro, according to the Not Cigs web page. IPro is listed as .5" and the BPro is .86". .36 inch = 9.14400 millimeters, according to Google Calculator. It is about 40% smaller, and that is pretty significant.

As for the height, the BPro is listed at 4.25", so if he can get this under 4", it will be a nice little unit.

The .5" listed for the IPro is clearly a typo. It actually measur808es 11/16 of an inch. A eGo battery is just a hair less than 9/16".

Doesn't sound like much of a difference, but that 1/8" difference in diameter looks almost twice as large around to the eye.

There is a large vaping market that just doesn't feel comfortable using a large battery. Look how many people stick with 510 and 808's for the form factor. For that PV segment, a 900mah eGo is pushing it.

My wife falls into that category. She wouldn't be caught dead using my IPro.

What about future expansion? For instance, go with a 4 hour mini battery for the base unit, but allow the tube to be extended to allow for 8 hours+. Just make the expansion tube fit the battery cover threads. You may be able to release it at a lesser cost.

I think that this as a brilliant idea LD.

Bet that would work well from a marketing standpoint as well. Sales to people that want only a VV tube PV in the smallest possible form factor. Sales of additional batteries, and of course the extension for those that want the longer run time. And, sales of other Notcigs PV's to buyers of the little guy but that want a big battery PV as well.

The Ipro dia. is 18mm ,( I just fixed the site ! ) , as far as a boost circuit goes , I have a requirement of 3 amps min. current @ 2.7 volts like the BP and IP , all of the boost circuts I have analyzed run at about 60% efficiency this is worse than a linear regulator!!. like the OB !

As far as batts go with 2 stacked batts there is nothing out there that meets the MAH needed ( I would go with 300mah real MAH ! ) but non of them come close, the Powerixers are a REAL 600mah so that would be 1/2 of the BP or IP time so about 5- 6 hours , I could live with that.

There is also the Reliability factor , the current design is well proven and reliable so ????

There is NO WAY to please everyone or even 75% of a market, I dont even try, BUT if it is a good looking package that is the dia. of an IPro and less than 4" long there might be a decent market ?? smaller would be better .

Honolulu, Hi
to be honest, if u wanted a mod that is the size of the ego but with VV, u can do the ego with the preset voltage changer or use a ego booster. either way the battery life is too short. it's a bit much to be asking for something ego sized with legit VV. to make an option to extend battery life from the 4 hour vape to 8+ would probably end up making the envy one of the longest PV on the market. like i said, you either have to thin it out or shorten the mod. thinning it out means lengthening the battery, shortening it means making it thicker. The smallest possible form factor for a VV tube mod is probably going to be the thickness of the Ipro unless they develop batteries thinner than 14xxx's with a higher mAh rating than the 14xxx batts currently.

In all honestly, you should be using batteries with at least 600 mAh with VV. consider how many times you'll have to charge the batteries in a day with only a 4 hour MAX vape time. in the long run, you'll end up buying batteries frequently and will in turn make u spend more money. Even if you buy more batteries to cycle through, that would mean you would have to keep opening your bottom cap to change batts as opposed to just buying more ego/510 batts and just switching them out From what i'm thinking, the 4 hour max vape time will only happen if your drawing a very low amount of amps for vaping (1 to 1.5 amp). If you are going to vape at the point of drawing low amps, you should just stick with the egos because the purpose of VV is to be able to use whatever u want on it at whatever voltage and if you get a MAX vape time of 4 hours on low amps, you're going to have a big drop in vape time vaping on other settings that draw more amps.

As of now, i think the most reasonable thickness for a VV tube mod is probably the Ipro because the 14xxx batts are the smallest batts to use with VV that also has the ability to give a decent amount of vape time even with setups that draw 2+ amps.

the BP and IP both use 600 mah batts ! they run in series so the MAH does not double , we are getting a solid 8-10 hours per charge at high current draw !!

that is because of ONE thing - BUCK regulation VS Boost regulation , basics on how it works a BUCK regulator reduces voltage and increases current and a BOOST regulator increase voltage and increases current DRAW from the battery . so it converts current into voltage ! the Buck regulator does the opposite , it convert voltage INTO CURRENT that is why it is SO efficient.

A Boosted Mod takes a 18650 battery and kills 40% of the capacity converting current into voltage , if we ran a 3,000 mah battery it would last 4 days !

Having used infinity and bp since feb, a real 300 or 320 mah would be plenty for an intro pv, would likely get you to 2.5 - 3 ml worth of vaping between batt changes. Problem is finding them :)

Anyone sitting on a real 320 mah 3.6/3.7v 15270 or 15266? Ideally a high drain one?

I want to know damn it !! LOL

From a data sheet " BUCK regulator
Value 10 − 16 volts IN
3.3vols OUT
INPUT current Max. 0.6 A
out current Max. 1.25

Boost reg.
In volts 10 − 16v
Out volts 24v Max.
In current 1.25A
Out current Max. 0.6A

Proof is in the numbers.

Hell I could use a 3.0 OR 3.2 volt battery and have the same performance ( well maybe 5.3 volts max out ) but close enough IMO

I agree, you have a proven reliability. I love my IPro, and the vaping experience that it gives.

As for the market, a smaller IPro would appeal to me, so there is already one person wanting it. I find myself using my VV eGo, when I am out on the town. The IPro can be a bit jarring to people, when I vape on it in public, with my big 'ol tank. Trimming an inch or so off the top, well that would be great.

That being said, the diameter of the original Infinity was smaller than the Pro. Is there a way to use the original tube size?

Yup. I have read enough to know that your BUCK regulator is top notch and thats what i would like to see in the Envy personally. Boosted is nice but you wouldn't be able to do a small mod with that set up so a +1 for the buck regulator :)

Is using the BP batteries still in the plan or going to stick with the Ipro batts? I hope the BP batts because one perk of using BP batts is the fact that it's a more commonly used battery size than the ipro and some people may actually already have a set or two laying around from when they were using a sparkplug or a 5v regulated tube mod and can just buy the Envy itself and save a bit of money :D
