5 volts through a 2 ohm coil = 12.5 watts which is pretty high. I'd turn that sucker down to more like 4.0 - 4.3 volts for starters. Lack of vapor is more related to the Protank itself. Did you let the wick soak for a few minutes after you filled the tank up with juice? If not, that would explain the vapor problem and the harsh hits.

Did you allow enough time for the wicks to become saturated before pressing the fire button?
Harsh & little vapor = wicking issue / dry wicks or too much power being used.

Take a couple primer puffs without pressing the fire button, turn down the power to 3.6 ish, take a few vapes, slowly increase power until you find what you're looking for or taste burnt, if you taste burnt/harsh turn it down a little.

Prostanks aren't known for their ability to handle medium power levels.

Fill the tank and let it sit for five to ten minutes so the wicks can do their job and suck the ejuice into the coil assembly. You can also take some primer puffs (suck on the drip tip a few times without hitting the fire button) to force more ejuice onto the coil. Just make sure you don't overdo it and flood your coil if you take primer puffs. As to the harshness, turn that beastie down to 4 volts or thereabouts and try individual settings until you find the sweet spot for you. Happy vaping :)

Let the wick soak? I was under the impression that the coil/head part of the protank doesn't become saturated by filling it. How should I do that?

It was so harsh at first for me my whole body said hell no. your not alone on that one.I loved my first night of vaping my second was like a freak show and I was the unknowning event.Be real careful when starting for sure

Also try drawing the vapor into your mouth before you take it into your lungs. Many feel that a somewhat different technique is needed, compared with smoking cigarettes. It's not uncommon for new vapors to cough up a storm when they first try it. I don't even really take the vapor into my lungs anymore. Your body will still get nicotine this way.

You may also want to try out the variable wattage mode, as once you find a wattage that you like you can, pretty much, change tanks with different resistances, without having to adjust the wattage again (or at least not by much). With variable voltage you would need to readjust.

As the others have said, you should let the wick soak properly and prime your tank before beginning to vape.

Also, if you look up the ohm charts that have recommended power values for the various resistances of the tank, 4 volts is the highest setting for a 2 ohm resistance. Obviously this will vary depending your juice, preference, any tank modifications, etc. but 5 volts sounds a bit high. Perhaps you should try turning down the voltage.

The ratio of PG in your juice could also be a factor. I started off with 100% PG juice and found it too harsh for me. I use 50/50 juices, which work a lot better for me. The higher VG content would also improve the amount of vapor you get. Best of luck in finding the set up that works for you.

Second this! Better off starting at the lowest power and moving up slowly until you find your sweet spot with the juice you are using! Good luck!

I just got my first vape in the mail, loaded it up with a cappuccino juice and hit it a few times but Jesus Christ, the throat hit is like a cigar, far harsher than the model at the store and I don't seem to be getting much vapor.
2 ohms at 5V, eVic supreme with new protank 3.
Help please?

Questions so other people can get a better idea of what you're using:

What is the PG/VG ratio?
What is your nicotine level?
