I let it sit for almost 40 minutes and tried again. I'm getting the same results as Bonnie.....dry hits, with a couple of decent ones interspersed after primer puffs. Tried priming the coil as Dan recommended in the video.....couple of good hits, and then back to nasty dry hits. It just doesn't seem to be able to get juice to the coil.....

Well, that will certainly solve the leaking problem. :nah:

Thanks Hibi, I appreciate the heads up!! I guess I will not try those. The xls do not do too bad with my vg. Just have to clean them more often than some people do. Even the vivi's and stardust gunk up pretty fast. At least they can be cleaned and used again...and new head are cheap. Much cheaper than the 3 pack a day habit I gave up.

The Titan is doing very well, and at 6mils...even if I have to clean with every fill it lasts awhile...lol. Maybe I will get a second one of those.

Irish, I do know the 3ml's aren't too VG friendly. Hubby uses and adores them, but they just won't work with my go to VG juices. There are mod's that can be done, but I haven't had the chance to get a few more 3ml's to play around with (hubby won't give up his for my testing purposes, lol). Also have instructions for moding the XL's, but haven't had 2 min of concentration time to mess with them. School starts Monday!:lol: For now I'm sticking with the Vivi's and Stardust.

Just wanted to pop in and say hi. New vaper (one month) and newly registered forum member, but I have been following along with this thread and have a couple of Ravens on the way. No angry email coming from me, Dan. I know you will get this sorted out.

Since I have only been vaping a month, I am thinking I won't even open my Ravens? I can't provide sophisticated feedback, but I would be happy to try if a data point from someone with little prior experience would help.

Coming from someone who is on the lower end of the experience level myself....I think that It is very important for us less experienced vapors to have input. There are more and more people everyday turning to vaping and I think their experinces are just as important.

So, I would add a couple of drops at a time to my bottle? How much juice in relation to drops of water...this is why I have not tried it...was afraid would get too thin. Thanks for the help HD.

I have been told PGA, vodka, or even distilled water. Just add a couple drops at a time...don't think it takes much.

I haven't done it....just read about it. I'm thinking go really slow....just a drop or two at a time. Again.....I've read it doesn't take much...

so I am thinking a couple of drops in my 30 ml bottle...do not want to ruin my juice. Maybe I will try it on the "okay but not great" juice I have out to try in the raven...lol.

I can't get the XL's to run my VG. Well, not without squeezing, primer puffs etc. So, yours may be a little thinner than mine and the 3ml may just work. I do plan on getting one to work....when time permits, lol. You may want to give one a try and if it gives you fits....we are close enough....I can help you mod it once I get the hang of doing it ;)

I've had a Titan on my wishlist, good to hear even with frequent cleaning it does well with VG. After discovering it only takes an hour in our hot sun to dry things, I don't mind cleaning things often!!

DON'T DO THE WHOLE BOTTLE. Can not be undone. I usually fill the syringe. Pull the plunger. Add ONE drop of distilled water. Replace plunger. Shake a bit and fill the carto. If one drop dilutes too much try a smaller drop from a pipette or something like that.
I use BB without any thinning and it works great. Some other mostly VG's I have to thin. All depends how much the vendor thinned originally. they are all thinned. 100%VG is like goop.

Ok, I broke down and opened one up to give it a try. Cleaned it, filled it, gave a few primer puffs, then dripped a few drops down on the coil. Initially, good flavor, great vapor, good draw. Then the dry hits came. Aweful, burnt tasting, burn the back of your throat dry hits. Nothing short of dripping directly on the coil would stop the dry hits.

On the plus side, it makes a pretty good dripping atty.

ETA: I looked at one of the replacement carts, and there's barely any opening in the slot on the outside to where the coil is on the inside. Is this normal? The one that came installed had a proper round hole. And I can't seem to get the inner sleve that provides the hole to line up with the slot better.

thanks wally...okay just a syringe full. I will try that. I do not have a pipette..(note to self - order pipette). My juices seem to be working in the xl's, but I have only tried my clear not to sweet ones. My main vapes, besides beeing vg, are darker and sweeter. I am having okay luck on the viv's and better luck on the titan. But I do tend to clean every 4 mils or so, the titan seems like it is going to be every fill but it is 5 mil...lol.

Thanks Hibi...I must admit that when it comes to tinkering with them, I am a little leary. I usually suprise myself with how easy it was when I get up the nerve to try...lol. I am a visual person, and usually if I can see someone do it, then I am okay.

Just got my Raven tank, and four extra cartos. Going on my like for the original Phoenix BC, I ordered another tank and nine cartos (Thinking there may be a shortage of these things). Holy dry hit batman, I'm disappointed. First hit with primer puffs was good, then constantly dry hit after dry hit. I lowered my voltage from 4 to 3.8, then 3.6, and got the message at 3.4. I give up. What's the trick? I've taken more primer puffs than hits, and I'm vaping 75%pg/25%vg juice. Hopefully there's someone that has a fix. I've been considering punching the hole wider w/ my carto punch. Guess I'll wait for more reaction and instruction. I'm using something else until then.

Received 2 ravens tanks, 2 spare cartos.... I echo everyone's experience.... dry hits. Not usable for me. They have been placed in my junk drawer with care.

First impression..... HOLY PRIMER, I first thought that somehow the inside of the package got wet as the insides of the plastic the raven came in were wet with primer.

I will patently watch this thread and wait for what guess could be called Ravens V2.

I'm getting bummed as the reports come in that I wasn't the only one with dry hits and a bad experience.

Looking at the carts though. There is really nothing PHOENIX about them at all. Just an atomizer with some specialized holes at the bottom. Thinking about how they work, if anything was going to be left off it should have been the outer sleeve. Technically we don't need it as long as the bottom and the top seal up. Just a center tube in a tank would probably work.

I really have the feeling this was a cost saving measure more than anything else. Though, having dealt a little with the chinese in business, I can imagine that them saying this is how it was supposed to be could be them trying to save face. I expect they will further explain themselves once they've had time to think about it.
