Are ya done yet?!

No. :) I'm supposed to be working. It's had an ultrasonic "spa treatment" (I like to spoil my equipment). It came pre-wicked but I was getting weird ohms readings and I wanted to wrap my own coil too (and give it a good cleaning). My friend is on his way over - we like to share in the excitement of virgin runs. I have determined that it is going to look damn spiffy on my Temon battery tube, but most likely it will be the PrecisePlus (350 = Prissy) that gets the virgin run honors.

Findings and questions:

tx15 seemed to get the best grip on the top cap for me. 7/64 hex also worked but was a tiny bit loose and I worried about rounding the interior edges if there was too much play.

What are the symptoms of "too much fluff" or "not enough fluff". Is the goal to get enough to loosely fill the tank without it being crammed in there?

How long of a wick? The wick provided was equal to a length of "once around the tube"/60mm/2-3/8". Similar to above - not enough wick might lead to poor wicking and possible dry burns? Too long of a wick just means wasted silica?

Thanks! The ob has provided some additional pointers already.

Yeah, I find that the amount of wick, being equal to once around the tube works about perfectly for me, of course now I just eyeball it, but that's a good measure to go by. Not enough wick and it won't reach up to touch the filler, you want it touching so that it can absorb the juice. Too much wick-length can just be annoying mostly, as you'll have this heavy wet piece of wick slopping around when you take the cap off to refill, also when it's too long, it might not fit up into the fluff nicely, it will fold over, or cross the bell/tube, I've even had it end up on top of the coil.

It definitely looks super sexy on the mod in that pic, love that! Love the mod holder too!

I think I have my new "out and about" setup. I am going to love having an RBA that doesn't leak. Hit is great (I need to thin my juices and start ordering lower nic for this device ).

I also need to order thinner silica wick (2.5 is smallest on-hand). I gave up on ribbon/flat kanthal due to the tight space and at 4 wraps my ohms is a little high for my preference on a mechanical (but just fine on the ProVari). Once I had it all connected and stable I didn't want to mess with unwrapping the coil to lower the resistance.

Excellent trade for something that was a duplicate and rarely used.

I totally agree. I've been "practicing" like crazy!! I was so proud when I finally got my sphearoid set up last night. Then I've been trying to figure out the bottom button on the picillo. I'm like...where the heck is the spring? I have opened up that bottom several times trying to find what I'm supposed to find. Just a few minutes ago I picked up the picillo again and it sounded like something loose in the tube. Ha!! it was the spring!!! It must have been stuck up at the top of the tube this whole time!! So now that I know for sure what brass screw I'm supposed to adjust.....it just screws with the nut. How do I make the nut be still so I can turn the screw? It's not making contact, so I need to probably screw it left and make it taller...yes?

Hey catcat, ok--so you found the spring up inside the tube? I was looking at your picture of the screw, and I don't see the black plastic insulater piece, that goes over the top of the screw and nut....do you have that? Look back at the picture that Perseas posted if you don't know the part to which I'm referring to.

So, my brushed Spheroid 2.1s (I have two) are definitely leaking from the top seal near the mouthpiece. On these, I can unscrew the top cap with my fingers - I don't need to use an Allan wrench or torx tool. I don't think the o-rings are making a tight enough seal.

My other spheroids don't have this issue.

Another thing is that it's good that I can unscrew it with my fingers - I've tried a 3mm Allan key, which does not fit, a t20 torx key, which does not fit, and a t15 torx, which comes closest, but slips.

Anyone else noticed this? Are there some workarounds for these problems?

I have the same problem with leaking from the top seal, brushed V2. I can also unscrew it without any tools. I think a bigger o-ring could fix that problem. I haven't tried that, since I've got no bigger o-rings.

Yes, exactly that, then place over the screw the black delrin and the spring.
Mind to check, if you have tightened well the holding nut, the one beneath the brass screw. Look at the post above.

Zooker, yes the insulator is there. I think what happened is the first time I took the bottom off, I didn't see the insulator and spring, so when I put the battery in, it shoved them to the top of the tube and I didn't realize it. When I posted that picture of the screw, I had yet to realize where they were and I was confused. But what I still can't do is move the screw without the nut moving, too. Is there a certain tool I need to make the nut hold still? Honestly, I just need guidance on what to use. I really don't know tools at all. But I am happy to buy what I need and keep trying. A visual of how to turn this would be most appreciated. I am so close!!! I do have the right size screwdriver so I'm good there.

it's 12:06 MST, 20:06 EST, and still no spheroids for sale? I tried an hour ago too, and must have hit refresh 100 times by now. Did you forget about the time change that just happened? I'm hoping they go on sale in an hour (53mins). ???

Now it's 18:40 GMT, so they should go on sale in 20 minutes.

I wasn't aware of the time change, so it was one hour later for people from the States.
In Europe the time changes on 26 of March.
I posted time references for both systems to avoid errors, but as I ignored the time change for US, the same happened for some people in the States, who ignored that the time in Europe didn't change :?:

Before buying a mod I did a lot of research and by far the one that caught my eye was the GP PAPS. I'm currently using the ZEN Mini, but am slowly growing apart from it because of its unattachable tank and "god i have to mod this" switch.. My support goes to you Perseas! Just saw the prototype for the GPPX and my oh my. it's a "less is more" type of feel that it gives me with a "beast" under it all. Can't wait for its release!
