Spheroid up and running... it took me a couple of times...I tried 28g but kept getting .8 - .9 and I really prefer 1.5-2.0 so switched to 30g. I'll keep working on it I'm very new to micro coils and wire is cheap so I'll just rebuild until I figure it out Flavor is awesome, vapor is great. I do have a couple of questions a) My spheroid is getting a little warm (not hot) is that normal? b) what is the easiest way to refill - from the bottom? I've cleaned up the Piccolo and just keeping my fingers crossed the batteries show up tomorrow. It should be Thursday at the absolute latest..but it's so cute I really want to give it a go. I love my custom drip tip I had made for the spheroid and will get a picture up later this week once my Piccolo is up and running. I'm just so happy

Hi, Congrats!

a) Yes, it tends to get warm. And lower the resistance of your coil ~ higher the warmness.

b) Hold the tube section upside down at a slight tilt. And fill the juice along the walls first (keep rotating it) - then poke some in the middle. I use a needle top bottle to do so, however many have successfully filled/refilled it with standard nipple-top bottles.

I've been enjoying the 'bunny ears' build with 2mm silica and 30g wrapped normally to about 1.4 ohms. I had a micro in there at one point but found that I didn't enjoy it as much in the spheroid as a normal coil. I may try another one at some point though. I've been enjoying wrapping my micros really small diameter lately though and there's not enough room in them for wick Just a bit of cotton which doesn't work so well in the Spheroid for obvious reasons. I do have an idea for a crazy spheroid build but I'm not certain it will work and I'll need to experiment with it to see. Maybe tonight …


Edit: this may be a question for Perseas but I'll give it a shot. Does anyone know how much space there is between the air hole and the bottom of the bell ? Like how many mm it is.

I have a question I'm shur someone her knows the answer too. Well I picked up a old Spheroid, I guess it has a different bottom piece the 510 connection. Thier looks like it used to have a wire to connect positive the replacement parts I have are for the newer. It hav a number on it of 0116 so it's fairly early I guess. . Anyway I love the Spheroids and wondered how to or where I can get the parts to fix it.

I use syringe and long needle that will reach the bottom of the Spheroid. I push the needle along the inner wall until it bottoms out and then start squeezing slowly until the top of the filler materials gets wet. I find it that I can put more juice in the spheroid using this method.

I just use a standard bottle and put it on top then give it the ole' carto priming shake a couple times.

Anyhow.

It inspired me to try it in the Spheroid cause it's basically the same setup for a deck.

30g micro wrapped on a toothpick for 1.9 ohms.

Then you need to make sure the that the whole outside of the coil is covered in cotton to keep it wet. I think this could be done a little better but it's my first try.

Then I had to figure out how the hell I was gonna get the juice from the filler to the cotton. I had some cotton / hemp laying about and tied a slip knot in the end to be left with two tails long enough to tie it tight around the posts and the cotton. Trimmed up the ends and my theory is that when it's wet it will hold in place. I could have def made the loop about half the size but oh well. So far it seems to be keeping the cotton wet.

The only downside so far it seems is keeping the juice from going down the airflow opening. Because there is room between the coil and the airflow hole and there is cotton wrapped around it I think a bit of juice is sort of barely leaking in to the base so it sort of seems like it's flooding but just barely.

This was just an experiment cause I was bored. I might try to refine the build and see if I can get the small bit of a gurgle to go away.

Hello buddy,

What you have is a Spheroid v1 and there is no v2 compatible parts for the internals of the base. You can repair it by soldering a new wire or replace the whole base with a new one. I recommend the second option, if you are not familiar with delicate repairs. Send us an email to see what can be done.

I like you enjoy this little atty and it is normal to feel it getting warmer with chain vaping and/or low resistances. The room for heat dissipation is quite limited. If we made its OD in 17 mm, it would be slightly cooler, but the atomizer would be thicker.

Well that was a fun little experiment, always fun to mess around with stuff and try different things. In the end though I couldn't chain vape it and it upset me, so a traditional setup went back in.

We have to try though right?

I always have preferred this as the loops sit on either side of the air tube. The cotton flattens into the mesh. With ekowool the loops have to be a bit smaller and just make contact. I never have gurgling issue onless it is a freshly refilled tank and only for the first few pulls.

Spheroid arrived today, banged a quick 1.5ohm Silica build in and vaping like a good 'un. Just 'need' a piccolo now to complete the line-up.
Can someone tell me how tight the filler material should be. It seemed pretty tight getting the supplied amount in the housing, and I am using 100%VG juices. Is it advisable to reduce the amount slightly? I ordered some extra filler so I can play about with this.

I did but saw some mention filling from the top when I searched so was confused I used your information for measuring the fluff, boiled then Q's micro coil set up this time. I also want to try your figure 8 coil next time to compare. So far I am really enjoying this. I filled as above, first time don't think I got enough juice..but when I got a little funky taste just added more juice and all has been good since. Checked this morning and my batteries won't be here until tomorrow...oh well I will have something to look forward to tomorrow now.
