The screw doesn't touch the bottom of the battery during the locking-unlocking operation, except if you keep the button pressed on purpose and I can't imagine, why someone would want to do that.

OK so I think maybe I'm having a problem? When I put the bottom together, and just twist the switch on & off without the bottom piece connected to anything, the screw spins. Spins when I lock it. Spins when I unlock it. So imagine the same occurs when it's all put together? Clearly I'm doing something wrong

Thank you for the feedback, I am glad that your Spheroid is working as it should in the first place :)

vape mail this morning. Some SnC for the Spheroid , pretty excited to try it out.

And some Boba's that Idaholandho sent on to me , thanks for the juice man!

Wicking was so so when I first tried the cotton yarn. Then I took Idaho's advice and boiled it for 20 minutes, followed by drying it out by wringing it out and zapping it in the microwave. Much better. Be sure to tie the ends before boiling to prevent unraveling.

Also that bobas coupled with the sugar and cream in a dripper is fantastic!

The negative pin doesn't touch the battery's bottom during the locking unlocking function and even if this happened (you need to keep the button pressed when you lock - unlock the button), the pin would touch only the metal part of the battery, but not its coating and even that would happen only in an unlocked state.

hey everyone....i spent quite a bit of time on the Vapourart website last night debating whether to get the PAPS X and a Spheroid..
SOMEHOW.....for now, reason won and I still have my outstanding balance from 3 days ago...LOL...i have a real question for u folks...

Please chime in with your build experience...
How are you building dripper quad coils for maximum wire temp and quickest heating time? I'm finding that quad coils take too long to heat up, and have a noticeable voltage drop using .5 ribbon 3 wraps per coil (.3ohm total), or 28 awg 4 wraps per coil (.25ohm)....
every time i end up going back to duals using .7 or .8 ribbon or 29awg....its lightning fast....
anyone have suggestions for building efficient quad coils? batteries on hand are good- MNKE 18650, AW 18650 1600mah (over 20amps)

I wanted to say this on the high end thread to you bro. But was distracted by 1,242 pictures of your set ups :)
Here is my answer? Why? imo quad coils are just too time consuming and the vape can be duplicated with duals if needed.
Unless this is a personal challenge of accomplishment(Most of us have been there) let it go. Head down the micro coil road and the prize will come quicker, safer and far more satisfying. Triple, Quad and as Yankee Bro and I have laughed arent necessary my friend.
If you insist go watch Bishopheals videos, just have a fire extinguisher close.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

This I learned from Yankeebobo as I was boiling for a shorter time period but the taste was a bit funky still. Yankee may go longer even but 20 min was my ticket. Ybb is the cotton guy!

Quad coils IMO are an overkill beyond overkill. Those that want to try it will. I have. But the heat that comes forward and the delicate flavoring that disappears negates any pros I've found. Vapor comes from a one second push, the juice bottle empties faster than gas in your car, and sometimes that flavor is hard to even determine.

I'll do duals on tobacco based and take it below 1ohm. Everything else is between 1.2-1.5. Ribbon and micros perform well too. :)

20 minutes. You have to go 20 or you will still taste the cotton more than you like. You can go longer just don't bother shorter. There's a break in period either way, but it's far less with a 20 minute boil.
I've also switch most every setup I have to organic cotton balls. I don't boil those. And replacing is easy as pie. Remove the old cotton, dry burn, rinse off the coil, rethread a new cotton. Bam. Virtually no breakin period and you're done in under 5 minutes for most devices.

Are you saying the screw shouldn't spin then? I just never noticed or looked before. It seems that if the screw spins every time I lock or unlock the button, it just rubs on the bottom of the battery and would wear the coating off.

Hello Wildvet!
Just so you know, If everyone were to remove the switch section from their X and observe the connection while unlocking and locking the screw will turn with the locking mechanism when you engage or disengage the the lock position. This is normal.
In a sitting position the silver screw is not touching the battery or it would be firing at a constant....so twist away and there is no contact. When you press the button to allow screw to contact the battery is the only time when the two will mate, mate :).
It the screw did not turn while locking and unlocking and was stationary it would be impossible to turn the button to lock or unlock as it would be too tight and locked down by said screw.
The lip on the inside wall is what the battery rests on in a resting state. Pressing the switch allows the screw to lift up and make contact.
The metal ridge is the same principal as the black circular delrin(plastic) rings in the PAPS(except for insulation) as far as making battery contact.

My friend stare at it a bit and it will completely make sense!

thx for the words of wisdom.....all my kayfuns are microcoiled using 28awg, about 8-11 wraps (.9-1.3ohm....seems to be my sweet spot)....i just can't thread the 3mm eko through a microcoil.....especially inconvenient because the ekowool is flat, not a circular diameter...
so while i go through my stash of eko, im using ribbon and traditional coiling methods.....just keeping an open mind....

Tip on threading in case some don't know. Make a hook with a paperclip and create a loop with the wick. Pass the paperclip through your coil gently pulling the wick through using the hook. . If you want double, just make the loop ends both longer and stop.
It won't work with all wick, but it helps. I know I've seen pics of Qorax using this method.
Cotton is just rolled up at one end and threaded like a needle.

with a dripper like the omega, which has a large diameter air intake....any suggestions? i cannot use ribbon and my 4 wrap 28awg coils at 0.3 ohms vape a bit harsh......add a wrap? what's the point of drippers if you are not using both sides?

Double your wraps if you have room. . It's easier to take a wrap away than go through and redo a whole setup. I don't have an omega so I don't know the space constraints.
Also height of coil can play a major factor on most drippers. Try raising the coil as best as you can.

Duh & Face palm.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Now that I've stared at it as suggested, I see it clear as the San Diego sky. I just couldn't see (ignored) the lip that was right in front of me. Sometimes what's right in your face is the hardest to see!

Welcome to the world of my daily suffering :).
No problem, its what we all do here.
Go back and read Perseas answer as he said the same thing. When 2 people say the same thing it sometimes is easier to comprehend.

Cotton balls are used in every atty I have, I've been in love with the vape since switching to them about 2 months ago.

I need the yarn for my Spheroid though as cotton balls just can't work in it and I've grown to hate silica.

It's funny. I can't do silica anymore either. But there's another benefit. It's a little cheaper. :)
