Do y'all recommend boiling or at least rinsing the fluff stuff for the Spheroid before using?

Earlier conversation -
Funny, in a PM earlier I told Tyleris thst for some reason the words, "cotton balls" crack me up. Yeah, I don't get it either :)

I do boil it, maybe not out of necessity but here is my thoughts of medium used in atty's and it started when I would receive eko and it had a "taste". These mediums have a long road to travel from production to our doors. They are produced, stored, moved, sometimes packaged in non air tight conditions and through all of it they collect smells from the air and even a bit of dirt. Put some medium near your perfumes and it will soak it right out of the air and depending on the humidity it could be quite a bit. Same thing happens in warehouses. Most of us pay a pretty penny for quality juices as well as not needing to inhale 1k-2k miles of smells no matter how faint.
Anyway, Iowa - this ocd guy boils :)

I don't.
I just cut it to size and roll it in straight from the packet.

:)

You at the AP tonight?

Finally got the spheroid working perfect. 5 different coils set-ups and 4 changes to the filler later!

My best advice would be that less is more in the spheroid, to start with I packed far too much filler into the housing and it would not 'let go' of the juice. I use 100% vg and it seems for that to move around you only need a very light fill of fluff. Also less wick seems to be key, to start with I was leaving about 25mm of wick either side of the coil, I find about 10mm either side of the coil works a treat. I think you only just need the wick to make contact with the filler and nothing more.

Hope this helps.

Hey Perseas, can you give us some info on where we can buy the special fluff that is apparently superior to what we currently have for the spheroid? My post have apparently been "ignored" from the person distributing the fluff.. While I'm not sure why, I would like to just purchase some and I'm sure if it's that good others would like to know also.. Thank you King P!

Hello my friend!
From the moment I am the one who sells it, my invested interest doesn't permit me to characterize it superior from other fillers in the market. Send a pm to Idaho and if he hasn't any left, take a look at our store and put it in your basket for a future order to save shipping.

Wow! Thank you for the quick response! I have pm'd him with no reply, I also posted here, and no reply.. I did purchase extra fluff with my first spheroid order, is this the same thing?

Yes, it is the same, at least for the last 5 months. Probably I missed your post.

What design points make the Sofia better than the Diver?
Some pages back ~
That is TRUE
Between the Sophia, Diver and the Killer (all three Carto-RBA's) ~ get the Sophia. I have used them all and can confirm it is the best.

Why?
1. Made exceptionally well. Better materials, finish and build quality (similar, but higher than the Killer).
2. Vapes amazingly better than all three and definitely better than the Diver (double the VTF).
3. Flavor at it's best. Yes, in the 'taste' front it has beaten my Kayfuns (that 'pulsating' thing might be at it).
4. Never leaks. The juice control is a boon (and works at that!). However, I've never closed it yet ~ no drops too.
5. Adjustable Air-Hole. Yes, the air intake can be fine tuned thru the 510 screw (makes a subtle difference).
6. Easiest setup. No 'lining' of the coil vs air-hole. No guess work at length of wick ends. No cutting required too (does itself).
7. Pressure/Vacuum proof. Yes, it performs well whether the tank is full or near depleted.
8. Can be used without an external drip-tip. Has an optional built-in DT top tube, or a carto cap can be used on the stock tube.
9. Rebuilding can be done without dismantling the entire RBA from the tank.
10. Can be effectively used on both - XL and standard tanks. One size/device fits them all.

Hello all anyone have an answer on why only the vase DT's fit the spheroid but the classy's do not? The classy bottom o-ring starts to fold over on itself. I have 2 classys and have tried swapping out the o-rings.

I find neither the Classy nor the Vase can go in any atty (except my Kayfuns and eBaron) without shredding the bottom O-ring. Having ruined two I've now 'removed' this lower O-ring from my other two driptips. Incidentally they seem to fit nice & proper without those everywhere.

BTW, I could fit both varieties of driptips in the Spheroid by lubing their dual O-rings with some vaseline

Yeah same here. I couldn't fit either style tip in my protank 2. They fit the kayfun pretty nice. Little right but they work. The bottom oring almost breaks when putting it in my protanks.

In the Spheroid I am using cotton yarn...I used Q's coil set up a few pages back with 30g wire as I like my ohms a little higher 1.5-1.8.
Are you using cotton balls or cotton yarn? I only have cotton balls at the moment, but it won't hold itself up to stay in contact with the filler. I'd prefer to stick to microcoils with cotton, but it's not working with what I've got on hand right now :(

Just got home from work, about to eat my usual midnight dinner. And then! Spheroid tinkering till I get it vaping right.

Diver V2 announced. I'd wait for it before deciding..

:2c:

I will be trying both Diver v2 and Sofia to compare. I love variety, and I love choices - as my signature betrays. And I love that most of the greatest gear is made by my lazy, worthless Greek brothers.

You hate us, but you cannot ignore our loud, brash awesomeness.
