Will do, i do like trying all different versions what others do, also looking into doing a microcoil/cotton build.....was thinking of wrapping the cotton legs around some non res wire for stability so the cotton does not droop down.

If you use cotton yarn there will be no droop-age.

^True. Cotton Balls are a big no-no on the Spheroid. That wick will drop dead as soon as "soon" could be - when soaked. Use Cotton Yarn instead - and keep the wick ends slightly longer than what you'd do with Silica.

Spheroid Microcoil with Cotton Yarn

It stays in form better than the wooly balls - and performs fine. It does sag a bit too - but nothing that'd stop/reduce feeding. Stretching them up only at the time you refill - suffices.

Cotton balls working fine here for last few weeks. No sagging issues.

Does need a little repositioning when refilling, but holds shape well enough. It has taken me a little practice, but I find the results well worth it. The wicking is much better for me than silica. Obviously cotton balls only a practical option with a microcoil.

It wouldn't be any fun if we all liked the same though!:vapor:

I'm pretty sure I have my eyes on a SS brushed Paps 2.5 for the Heron to be used with.

I think I've got this figured out but I just wanted to make sure.

The differences between the SS Paps 2.5 and the lux 2.5; the bronze tube and the contacts being gold plated silver in the lux and brass in the normal Paps. I can also at a further time order an 18500 Lux tube and use that with my Paps 2.5 bottom cap if I'd like to? So at the end the only difference I would have when running my Heron on it is the contact in the bottom switch and the tube material ?

Yes the contacts on both top and bottom are better. Tubes are interchangeable as long as the switch used is 2.5 or later.

HELP! :nun:

I know we have a few Sophia, Killer and Diver fans here so I shall ask my most learned of friends!:2cool:

I went off carto's a long while back and got rid of all my tanks etc as I had no thoughts of going back. The SnP cured me of that problem and I had to have one(then 2 and now 1 again!). So the problem then was what to put in it. I don't like carto's so with the new line of RBA's out there I decided to try a Killer (clone I will add-but I didn't want to spend more money and this was £15ish) that has been great at times and terrible the rest. So with all the good press you guys give the Sophia I bought one 3-4 weeks back, same problem. I have now had a couple of days with a Diver V2, same problem.
So I have now given the Diver V2 back to the friend who loaned it me(Thanks to him!:toast:) and now I am stuck with no use for the SnP till I can get something working. I still have the Sophia and Killer, along with a stack of coils and pack of premade 1.5ohm NR-R-NR wires(was going to buy a zapper if these bloody things worked!).

So the problem- Wicking, none of these will wick for me.
All look like they fill nicely when I put them in fresh, i.e. I got plenty of air bubbles coming up from the juice holes and tank level drops a touch. All seems ok for a short while. Then dry again.
I can get the liquid through with a few dry pulls and air flow closed down, or opening the fill holes for a few seconds. Usually only get a couple of good pulls before I get the nastiest dry hit down my throat again.

I use 100% VG whenever I can or as close to. Has anyone got a Carto RBA working successfully in the SnP with high VG liquid?
Occasionally I have managed to run a full tank through perfectly but as soon as I touch it to fill etc, dry hit again.
I have tried various different builds, used 10+ standard pre-made coils in different wick set-ups, the best I have got them working is with a Micro and cotton. juice flow is always fully open on all the RBA's, except when filling(I usually fill 1/2-3/4 seems to work best)
I am running 2 Red o'rings in the top, 2 brown in the bottom, I have tried various combinations but this seems best for me.
I dont have any other tanks to try, they are all long gone.

My current theories are around temperature but that's it.

Sorry for the length I wanted to get as many details I could think of in there.

Any help here much appreciated, I really want to use the SnP cos its so sexy. Just glad I can rely on the Spheroid and my Kayfuns;), this would upset me as my main device. If these will not work with 100% VG someone please tell me so I can move on!;)

And can't you also upgrade the inside contacts with the lux upgrade to boot? Granted if you spend on upgraded innards and tube, you're half way to a lux but....

You can indeed, that what I did with mine! Then buy a Lux tube and essentially you got an 18500/650 lux. Its a matter of deciding which one you want in 18350 cos you cant get those seperately!

This forum is going to get me into some serious trouble....as the forums I go to do. It doesnt matter if its a knife, computer, diesel truck, etc forum. I am a sucker...

@Chadsmo. It might be best to go with your thinking but get yhe lux to start and get the ss tubes. This way you do not need to upgradr yhe innards. You are giving me bad ideas...at least ill have someone to blame when the boss gets mad and puts me in the basement, lol.

I think the x will suit me for yhe rest of the yr but lux or ss with spare tubes and q4 piccola(hopefully spelled right) next yr.

Also got to get a spheroid and snp. Too much to buy...

I guess I don't fit the criteria since I just got adopted into the family?

I will soon enough be a regular, lol. Not a big deal as I can always pick one up with a future purchase. This is mighty nice of you though. Seems like a great group of people here and amoung the entire forum itself!

One day, I hope to be able to help others out as well on this forum

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. The paps I get will have the Heron on it 99% of the time and I'm not sure I'd like the look of the bronze and the stainless flushed up right beside each other in a hybrid mode. I'm sure some people are super excited about the way that would look, but it's just not for me. However down the road I might actually want to not have a Heron on it at some point and maybe I'll pick up a lux tube for use with other attys. I'm still on the wait list for Senesis brass , but I think I'm done with genesis attys at this point, so we'll see. As for the contacts, if the bottom contact can be upgraded to the gold then that's good for me, not too worried about the top one because I won't even be using the top cap. So i think it will be a Paps 2.5 in brushed and the Heron in my future. I've already got a Spheroid and SnP tank so I'll own a full line of GP products at that point.

To think that I just got my first GP product , the Spheroid, about 7 weeks ago... and now I've got a tank with a few drip tips, I'm buying a Paps and I helped name the new atty. Though it seems like so much longer ago than that and the reason is the community of people you get along with these devices is second to none, much like the devices themselves.

Thanks P and everyone else.

I use all the Carto-RBAs in the market ~ Killer, Diver v2 and Sophia... and I love them all. My SnP has the Killer embedded in it and it wicks / works fine. I initially ran a Diver (v1) in it ~ but it was a PITA... leaked the whole time - whatever I did. Actually that v1 did leak inside anything, not just the SnP.

I'm not sure what's with a Killer Clone ~ but the actual Killer705-Septero is a joy to use. Yes, it sucks at building and inserting - b'coz of it's 'bulb' - the bloated waistline - however, it's constructed well (the best out of the three) and performs stupendously vide a Microcoil/Cotton build.

With your SnP (actually any tank system) - we should remember not to fill it to the brim. They'd dry-hit to glory if done so. The ideal level is to fill it 3/4ths - always & everytime. And ensure never, ever to smother the wick. There should be enough 'breathing space' between the wick and the coil while inserting it / building it - to account for the 'swell' which'd eventually occur when 'fed' with juice.
