Ok thank you Mr. P! I will have to check around as the efest 490 batteries i am using are getting battery rattle. I only go sub ohm down to maybe .6 and those are on dual coil drippers only and on my sony 30am 18650 batteries. I will not risk anything stupid to blow a large cloud!!! Does the battery need a button top in 18490 mode?
Thank you for the magnificent work and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my X1.5!!

I am glad you are fond of the X!

It depends on the brand and the version. The EFEST v1 with flat tops have a weaker performance compared to EFEST v2 with a button top. The red AW IMR 18490 batteries many times are referred as 18500 by many vendors, but only the black ICR AW are 18500 actually, while the IMR EFEST v2 18500 with top button is indeed at this size. The IMR AW 18490 is what we recommend, size and performance wise.

I am using the v1 flat tops then apparently. I rarely used anything other than 650 till recently so i picked a few of these up cheap. It seems with the flat top efest v1 that there is a significant difference in tallness because there is considerable rattle. I guess i need to get some new 490 batteries then. Sorry for the confusion, I just wanted to make sure I was not doing something incorrectly.

Thank you for your time P.

Ok, so now you have me dumbfounded as to ... i am doing wrong that my efest flat top does not work at all? haha.

Just to be clear, I only have button tops, and the 18490 that works is a button top.

I'm not sure how much shorter the Efest 490 flat top is, however, I may be wrong, but I see that there's another and maybe a longer pin included in the parts that came with the Paps X - perhaps if you take the top cap apart and put in that pin, it may give you enough reach to stop the rattle with your 490 flat top.

@Perseas - please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that you mentioned before that you will be including a longer pin for the GPin in the X 1.5 and is this spare pin that I see in the parts it or is it just a spare pin of the same size?

Thanks @rodsky77 but I do not want to go through the trouble of switching pins for a single battery type. This is what the great gpin is all about!! I will just pitch these dumpers as they apparently are and purchasing some new batteries. Like i mentioned I wasn't all that sold on the 490 battery so i just picked these up for like $5 a piece. I will throw them in something that does work with them or give them away. I must search down some aw 490s now because i really do enjoy the shorter size. It truly is an amazing device that feels sooooo sturdy. I just need to find a 23mm atty or get a hybrid kit(when available) as the gap is killing my ocd. haha

The longer pin is for that situations we are discussing now of course, as an alternative way to eliminate the rattle, but for the long run, the EFEST v1 flat tops batteries are really weak, needing frequent charging and it would be better to use other ones, in my opinion. For now, he can change the pins, if he wishes to. Thank you for reminding that, I forgot to mention it in my first response. The obvious is always the hardest thing to see!

As mentioned a fantastic vendor Fenix Flashlights, Cree LED, Lithium Batteries, Lithium Ion Batteries, Li-Ion Chargers, Leatherman Multitools, Spyderco Knives and more!

For $5 it's not a big deal and if you can use them in something else, then not a waste at least :)

I myself find that the 490/500 batts are just better all around in terms of power (from 350) and size - sure, they don't last as long as the 18650, but they are definitely more comfortable in terms of size. If my Semovar did not come with a default 18650 size tube, I would probably have only 350s for out and about and 490/500s for the home.

As for a 23mm atty, I am sure that many people here will be able to give you much more info on a worthwhile 23mm atty - I only have the Taifun GT clone, and I just find it to be too heavy and just not any better than my 22mm KFLs.

:) the Efest 490 v1 are horrendous as I saw in a battery study by someone somewhere - I have the v2, and these are not bad, they hold their charge pretty well when new, time will tell how they will hold up - I have 8 of them in rotation as they are my most used battery size.
I would've gotten some AWs, but they just aren't available in Switzerland, have to order from somewhere else (EU or US).

I've always found it surprising how so many things are not available in Switzerland - the consumer market here is so much smaller, I suppose, than in the EU or in the US. Everything that they sell here in terms of consumer goods of any kind (from cell phone cases to electronics) is just extremely standard and repetitive across the entire country.

There are plenty of banks, cheese, chocolate, watches and BIG Pharma companies.... and it ends there - everything else is imported. And if no one asked for it to be imported, it's just not there...

There are 2 vapeshops in Switzerland - they both carry ProVaris and Vamos at a much higher price. One of them does have SvoeMesto atties and the Semovar, Squape, and By Leo drippers - this shop is pretty good and the prices are pretty fair on everything except ProVari stuff. But both of these shops carry only Efest batteries....

I'm hoping that I get the shipping notification on my Micro Stick on or before the 4th so it can be my 1yr gift to myself.

In case you haven't heard. This is from them.

"We will start shipping of the MicroSticks 26-29/01. The orders will be shipped as soon as they are ready, so the whole shipping process will probably take about 2 weeks or maybe a bit more.

More than 150 MicroSticks were ordered 16/12 and 17/12, so the first ready MicroSticks will be shipped to them.
Orders placed in the middle of January most likely will be shipped in the beginning of February.

Anyway all orders will be shipped not later than 45 days after the payment date.

The MiniGens SS and Ti are almost ready. They should not delay orders with MicroSticks.
The extenders will be ready for shipping in the middle of the next week. The only missing part is the condutor pin."
