A friend of mine. RHP... RedHatPat pointed me towards the GP brand. I was in search of a mech that was functional and not flimsy. I had the Chi-(insert clone here) that left a bad taste in my mouth. Didn't fire all the time. Locking mechanisms were junk. Just junk. (I thought...Why does everyone love mechs?) So when RHP sent me this way...(As I usually do) I jumped at the first paps I saw in the classies. My 2.5. When I hit the button it was amazing...

The group of people here are amazingly helpful. I know this is where I'll stay. You guys/gals have a great weekend!

Oh.. and RHP says "HI!"

Just scored some five pawns liquid (Gambit and Grandmaster) from a vape shop in Switzerland (one of 2 shops in the entire country).
I complained before that they don't really have anything interesting to buy here in Switzerland, but it looks like someone has been listening :D

Yeah, the cost of these liquids is insane, but it's still cheaper vaping them than buying cigarettes. Could not really get them from the California Store because if they declare the full value on the shipping forms, I would've had to pay an additional $25 for customs fees - then it would be $100 for 60ml of juice

Let's see if they are really all that, or if Idaho is right - there's nothing really special about them.... :)

Pulled a full single piece of SnC through my coil (after much rolling/squeezing) and trimmed it ~1mm longer than the deck.

Wow, working great! Unscrew the tank to check, looks good. Bam dry hits. Rewick leaving ~3mm longer than the deck. Working good so far, too scared to check it.

I'll get her figured out. Hopefully before my micro stick shows up :D

Yeah I found the 1mm seem JUST a tad too short to feed. That's why I go a tad longer.

Micro Coil Jig, a must have. Darkzero made me a couple and they are priceless. No reason to crimp the coil before installing as they are fairly tight. Set it in the atty and get it hot and just a little pressure.

They are small and are solid. Pics for size - With GP in 500 mode and in my large pizza box size pimp hands :).

Oh yeah. Got one of these jigs coming too. I completely forgot. Maybe that's today's "vapemail"

Oh no, this is not a competition :)

Everyone has his/her own taste, and I respect that.

I just wanted to try the Five Pawns stuff for myself to see what it really is.

I can also tell that GVC needs more steeping - I'm on my 3rd tank, and it has just gotten better for me - it mellowed out - I can taste the custard better and the vanilla is not as intense as before - it's like the vanilla and custard have really intertwined and I can taste them both in exactly the right proportions.

@Qorax - if you don't like GVC right out of the bottle when you get it, let it sit for a week or two, it will get better.

I completely agree! I was just joking around.

S'n'C Wick Preparation:

The S'n'C yarn needs adequate pre-boiling (20 minutes or more) to make it inert. I do it twice ~ initial boiling (with some salt added into it) for 10-15 minutes. Then rinse it well under running water, squeezed and reboil it again with regular water for another 10-15 minutes.

The drying process could be sped up exponentially by putting it thru a kitchen microwave (I do it for 3 minutes approx, depending on the quantity of course). Whereafter, double the desired length up and use some Kanthal to move the loop thru the coil (a tank RBA in this picture ~ works the same principally for Spheroid or K'funs or whatever).

Bottomline: The foregoing process is a must for the S'n'C or similar cotton yarns, including the Peashes'n'Cream, which ensures that our wick remains un-sensitized to the vagaries of our juices (it's flavor and taste in particular) and we get the best out of our vape, vis-a-vis VTF.

Note: Remember, cotton WILL taste cottony for a while... however I've observed that this processing 'contains' that off-taste effectively... remains "only" for the first few draws (typically for 4-5 draws, under 8-9 at max) and then there's no holding back the 'real' taste of our juice/s.

Hope that helped.

I shall do this exactly. Thank you, Q!

I intentionally missed the last vapourday because I was getting ready to purchase a new car. That's out of the way so I just picked up a Paps X from Domo with yesterday's sale. I'm just about 30 minutes away from Domo so shipping is really speedy.

Needless to say, the X is a thing of pure beauty! I'm in love with everything about it. The button finish and top cap with the new center post are all amazing. (I always got a tad bit annoyed with the old screw in a screw center pin)

This mod a pure win from top to bottom. The people that create, sell, support this product are pretty amazing too :)

Hi everyone and happy Saturday!

Just placed my order at Domo for the new X top cap with GPin...I imagine I'll have an email confirming it's been shipped in about 5 minutes :p

Looking forward to it's arrival, I agree with what others have said about the center pin being the only thing I dislike about the X. It's a bit of a hassle having to constantly make adjustments when I change batteries. First world problems I suppose...

So proud to be part of the GP fam, getting to experience their constant innovations!

The other day on the huge 'Pics of your setup' thread there was a post about locking it and starting another. I guess there are database issues with threads over 15k posts. They said they were just giving the OP a chance to start the new one before locking it. Assuming that's all true I wonder if they'll make P start a new thread and lock this one. It will be at 15k pretty shortly.
