That helped a bit. Vapor is better too. Is the loop necessary?

Not at all. I prefer a double loop with each on the sides of airhole....small loops. I will post a few wicks that I have that are great. That's one of the nice aspects, any wick will work fantastic. Soak that fluff.

Totally off topic (do we have a topic here …?) , randomly grabbed this at the beer store before I came home. I havnt opened it yet , but i'm pretty excited.

A comment from the Beer Advocate review page:

The licorice is in your face along with a rich black strap molasses flavour, cold pressed coffee along with more subtle roasty flavours bring up the rear, make no mistake this is a big boy beer with big boy flavours

I set the coil above the nuts, not sure how high. 30g, 2mm diameter.

Edit: about 1mm above the top of the thumb nuts.

I use 5/64" which is 2mm, I believe 6 wraps of 30g. 1.8 ohms. My coil is lower, about 1-2mm off airhole, really between the nuts. Throat hit is too much for me if I go much higher.

I think Idaho is right, your wick is a little long. The loop is not really necessary...I also have a single piece of yarn through the coil. I have tried both threading a single piece through, and also taking 2 strands and putting it through doubled using a bit of wire folded in half like a needle. Both work, one may be easier than the other for you.

I said nuts, too...so there.

This beer has taken every flavor I loathe, and brewed them together...all it's missing is raw celery.

I use the 5/64ths also. 2 strands pulled through (to make 4) with a wire, loop on one side trimmed to a few mm on the other side.
I think too that I may just be spoiled to the easy draw of the KFL and KFM.

This was how I was trying to explain measuring wick to fluff.

Hahaha awesome. I love all of those things mmmmm. I want to open but 1 litre of 10% beer is a pretty big commitment to make. Might need to share and there is no way in hell my wife is touching it.

It is a tighter draw, and so quiet, sometimes I wonder for a sec if it's working. Next time you have it apart, measure the air holes, to be sure they are in spec...the one on the deck, per Perseas, should be 1.20-1.25mm, the ones on the 510 at 1mm. When I got my first one, it was so tight, even off of a mod. It was out of spec, and Perseas replaced it immediately. I used various gauges of needles to measure the holes, and the measured the needles with calipers.

Ok, I set my coil the other direction, perpendicular to the line between the nuts. Would that matter? I guess the nuts would help keep the yarn 'up' possibly?

If #2 and 3 pics work well, I will try those tomorrow.

Yeah, if you're having issues with it staying up , wrap your coil in front of the posts , then wick and pull up to between the posts. The top of the posts will keep the yarn pushed up.

Now Chad is having trouble keeping it up between the nuts...what is this thread coming to?

It is very quiet! I really have no way to measure the holes that precisely.

Don't think it matters but, I always move my coil over the airhole. In a few pics I moved it back to show the relationship of the whole pic and to get a bit of depth of possible.
Spread the wick out so the walls of the tank hold the wick up.
Cotton is a pita sometimes as when wet it gets limp....
what?

If you have no ecowool and aren't eating granola chained to a tree lol, I can happily send you some 2mm. It is my favorite although I am using cotton in a couple Spheroids now. And GP fluff if needed.

Hey many good brother S. Very nice!

Rinsing the fluff after each tank will take its toll bro. You will have mail Monday. Promise.

The logos are luck of the draw on the X and attys. With no Tele posts to adjust its just lucky if it does as the the male 510 length to thread count into female Is your master.

Ok cool thanks idaho! No prob on the fluff I just change flavors so ofter ive rinsed this piece out a ton! Guess I got lucky with the logos matching up in 350 mode :p
