I'll answer respectfully for Troy. That is a Polished PAPS LUX 2.5. It just happens to be oxydizing because as most of us much like Troy have a hard time putting it down. It is an absolutely beautiful mechanical mod.

I'm actually wandering if it's sanded with a fine grit sand paper... I've been using mine nonstop for a few weeks now. It's developed a really nice, multi-hue patina but it's still very polished looking. Troy's has more of a mat appearance that IMO looks awesome.

Troy... What say you?

Just checking in after having met up with qorax, super cool guy btw :toast:, and we were able to fix my problem, kind of. lol

Apparently the clearance of the firing button above the black delrin wasn't high enough, so we pushed the delrin in as much as possible, and it kind of helped. My paps would fire, but it was still inconsistent. I'm guessing I can sand down the delrin to completely fix the problem. I'm not sure how comfortable I am doing that though, so for the time being I have the nut that holds everything in place flipped the other way around. Doing this provides about an extra mm above the delrin, so it is firing properly now. Since the nut is making contact with the battery, I'm not sure what effect that has on conductivity, but everything seems to be firing well.

At this point, I'm just glad my paps is working. :vapor:

Guaranteed its not :). Its oxydation. Many of us like the looks of the alu-brass tube unpolished as it gives it quite a beautiful aged look. There would be no reason to sand it as the process is enough to change the look.

Where is the big guy?

Could simply be a difference in body chemistry... Mine is a little darker but just as shiny as the day the DHL guy handed it it me. Troy's definitely looks more mat in his last pic.

I have to agree that it looks blasted. At least the CNC'd logo should look polished but TroyDestroy's reflects almost no light.

There is no doubt and science proves that body chemestry does effect metals differently. If you leave a rag soaked with ammonia around any brass the oxidation speeds and soon to be patina'd
Maybe you all are right but, I am not sure why anyone would sand or blast the LUX due to the sheer beauty. I have brushed extra tubes of the ss in the past but I would not go within 50 feet of my media blaster with a LUX:)

TROY!

It was my pleasure too - to meet an uber cool guy called rumthin:blush:

It was fun chatting with him, moreso b'coz between vaper-to-vaper we seem to belong to the same planet, but different from rest of the world, and thus we hit much common ground, which is essentially lacking with our 'other' friends, folks, peers, relatives and family. It definitely feels good to be with like-minded people...

And that, his Paps is now up and running -- made the meet all the more merrier.

BTW Perseas, his Switch sure has an issue. It's Negative Post just doesn't stick-out enough from the Black
Delrin Ring (after pressure), which makes inconsistent contact with the battery. Turning the 'nut' upside
and hammering the delrin made the negative post tad protrude, thus giving proper contact, but that's not
the right thing / setup to have. There's a QC issue with his Switch Mechanism and u may like to look at it pls.
