The ceramic is "sintered" around the wire. Basically, ceramic powder is poured around the wire and heated at 1200 degrees to bake the ceramic into a very hard porous material. You can see part of the wire when you look down the middle of the coil but the juice comes through the ceramic to be heated, not through a cotton wick. It works incredibly well. Best flavor I have ever had from any coil, hands down.so are these ceramic wick? they still have nickel wire and kanthal wire wound around a ceramic core? is that what these are? just trying to get a better understanding of these coils.
I tell a lot of people to buggar off...lolWasn't it you who had someone try to buy yours off of you right after you got it and you told them to bugger off?
The purple one is soooooo pretty! And SHINY!!You're going to love it! I'm thinking I need the purple one, too!
LOL! Especially the ones trying to mess with yer mods!I tell a lot of people to buggar off...lol
Them, too!LOL! Especially the ones trying to mess with yer mods!![]()
It's soooooooooooo perfect! The purple one is soooooo pretty! And SHINY!!![]()
Welllll, the apple muffin one is...gone.I never did give it time to steep, but this last tank is about a week or so after I mixed it, and I just changed cCells, so OM NOM NOMMMM. It's pretty darn delicious. I might add a little sweetener to the next batch, or possibly go a little heavier on the custard just to take the little bit of bite there is out of it, but steeping might do that for me without the tweaking. The world may never know...
I actually got me an US cleaner yesterday and since I have to mix up a batch of the apple muffin juice anyooo I am going to rapid steep it when I make it tomorrow. That way I will know whether it needs a lil something something else or not and I can make the tweak immediately. There is no. way. I will be able to wait 2 weeks for an actual steep. I am worthless and weak that way. Besides, NEW CCELL!!!

Hay! Nothing wrong with being enlisted! My dad retired Sr. Msgt. in the Air Force!![]()
My brother was disqualified because he had had an ear surgery when he was 5, even though his hearing tested perfect. Go figure. Now that he is in his mid-40s, though, he does have some hearing loss, so it's probably a good thing he didn't become a pilot, but I was sad for him when they disqualified him. He turned out pretty okay anyway, though, so it was their loss.

aaaand, you can charge via usb! I do both kinds of charging, so it works out really well for me. It isn't a power hog, so, like you said, even changing out batteries is NBD.![]()
Wasn't it you who had someone try to buy yours off of you right after you got it and you told them to bugger off?
So I had a temporary brain fart or something today. I decided to try out a Kangertech KBox 70W I won. I pulled it out, turned it on, seen there was a charge, made sure it was in VW mode. Put my Target tank on top...took about about a 1 second pull and immediately realized I had forgot to change the watts.I could go the rest of my life without that taste. It was still set at 70 watts. I just knew from the taste that the coil was fried for good. Dropped the watts down to 35. Within just a couple pulls, literally like 2 maybe 3, the burnt taste was gone, and now I can't even tell. Pretty amazing.

I retired my 1st Target coil yesterday. The flavor just wasn't what it once was.
I installed the TC coil to give it a try and didn't have very good performance on the Target mod but had it working fine on 2 other TC mods I have.
Any tips on how to get the Target working good in TC mode?
Yeah, same results here with the nickel coil in the Target. I did build one of my RDAs with a titanium coil and the TC worked great on the Target mod. I don't really have any tips to get the nickel cCell to work well with it though. I'm really looking forward to the release of the SS cCells, I'm hoping that they'll give similar performance as a titanium coil in TC mode... until then, I'm just sticking with the kanthal cCells on it.
I have the Vapresso tank, the nickel coil left a bad taste in ma mouff! Kinda like tin foil lol.
I'm not big on tanks, so I let my hubby try it out with the regular coil and honestly, I still couldn't get good flavor from it after he ran a tank or two of juice through it.
I guess my rda's have spoiled me on flavor, I gave the ceramic a go and it's not for me, neither is nickel![]()
I'm wondering how the SS cCells will work with the Target mod ... I hope they will but I'm thinking it will require a firmware upgrade in order to do so since it doesn't already support SS. I'm surprised you got the Ti to work well frankly so maybe that bodes well for us. No nickel for me either unfortunately.
However, I've been using the same Kanthal cCell for several weeks now ( although not exclusively ) and it's still going strong.
Do they have a rba deck for the tank yet?Yeah, I didn't like the nickel coil... didn't get a metallic flavor from it, just was unimpressed by the performance of it and it seemed to completely lack flavor to me. I gotta say that I did get better flavor from the kanthal coil that I've even been able to get out of my RDAs though, so the fact that you didn't kinda surprises me a bit.
From what I've seen so far, any temp control device will work with any temp control wire... the only difference being that the "set temp" will not be accurate if using a wire type that it isn't set for. For instance, the Target is programmed with coefficients for nickel wire... so if you use titanium or stainless it will still control temperature, but if you have it set for 400°F, the actual coil temp may be 300°F or 500°F... you just have to pay more attention to the performance that you're getting than to trying to hit a specific temperature. The SS cCells should work on the Target without a firmware update, but the temps won't be accurate...
Do they have a rba deck for the tank yet?
I love the coil! Not that I've heard... but if I were gonna go RBA, I'd just use a completely different tank. Preferably top-fill. The beauty (and the best thing) about the Target tank is the cCell, and you can't truly rebuild the coil inside the ceramic chimney wick. As for the tank itself, it's fairly small capacity and bottom-fill only... there are way better options out there if you wanted to rebuild...
Bahahaha! I love that you MacGyvered a charger with a bandaid! So funny.LOL! Looks like someone did some catching up last night!
MMmmmmm... that sounds pretty darn good! You went through that pretty quick. I actually stopped by my local vape shop last night and picked up a bottle of Mango Pound Cake. Haven't put any in my tank yet, and I left my RDA at home when I went to the shop, so the guy put a fresh build in one of the shop RDAs and let me test a few juices. I liked it so I bought a bottle. If I still like it after I run it through the cCell, then I'll see about reproducing it. On a side note, it was a pretty good vape shop visit. The guy that worked there has been vaping for a little over 4 years, so we got to sit around and talk about the 'old days' of vaping while a bunch of kids just looked at us like we were nuts! LOL He hadn't tried the cCells yet, so I let him take a couple hits off of mine with my peaches and cream juice. Now he wants a Target!
Yeah, I got no problem being enlisted. Just like being an hourly employee in the real world. All of the salary and managers just think your a lower class of human for having to get your hands dirty... of course we have our own preconceptions of them as well.
Sounds about right. They do look at the tiniest little details when they make their decisions about what path your life will take. It's cool though, I think the guys who actually work on the stuff are probably a tighter-knit group anyway. There's too much BS and competition between the pilots...
I'm not real big on charging through the usb. It's nice to have the option in case of emergencies (and I've had a few of those, but I had no usb charging option at the time). I actually had to sacrifice a phone charger to 'redneck engineer' a charger at one point. Built a charger with a phone charger, pocket knife, and a band-aid. Blew my father-in-law's mind... now he comes to me with all of his electrical/electronic problems!
I guess I'm just used to mech mods and having to take the battery out of the mod... but if I ever find myself in that situation with my Target mod, I could just plug the phone charger directly into the mod.
I had a guy try to buy mine the other day! I have the white/orange one... I told him there was no way on God's Green Earth he was gonna get this mod out of my hand without having an extensive hospital stay to go along with it!I wrote down the HG web addy for him and left it at that...

Bahahaha! I love that you MacGyvered a charger with a bandaid! So funny.I do the same thing when people try to talk me out of my white Target. Even if I end up getting a pink one I am still not letting loose the white one because I like it so much. It doesn't do TC properly but it's fine in kanthal mode, which I prefer on this mod anyway. I have more cCells on order for after the holiday and I am (im)patiently waiting for the Gemini tank. I wish it came in white, too.
Mango poundcake?? That sounds delicious!
