Yeah... let's just say that when I went to the different recruiters the Army didn't have much to offer. They needed people in Motorpool and and Infantry... that's where they wanted to stick me. The Navy offered Aviation Electronics or Nuclear Power Technician (working on nuclear reactors). I opted for Aviation Electronics (larger post-service job market and the added bonus of not glowing in the dark for the rest of my life. It was either that or be a grease-monkey or crawl around in the mud with a rifle and a pack that weighs more than I do... no thanks!
That sounds awesome! I always wanted to go to Okinawa... never made it there though. Very cool that your son and his buddy get to spend some time together after enlisting! Especially since they are in different branches. Usually there isn't a lot of opportunity to socialize outside of the branch you're in. We had some Air Force personnel on the base where I went to school in Millington, TN. But we hated them and they hated us, so... lol.
I still haven't used a calculator for anything. Usually I absolutely suck at math, but it's been pretty easy doing the conversions for mixing. I even make up my ADV juices a quart at a time. I should probably take a page out of your book though and stock up on some nic. Last year and this year I only bought 250mL of 100 mg from wizardlabs. I went through the whole 250mL last year and ran out last month. I figure if all I gotta do is buy one bottle a year, then I'm good. But I should probably buy a couple extra and stick 'em in the freezer 'just in case'.
I'm a little baffled by my latest two mixes. I usually don't bother much with steeping, but those two kinda sucked for the first few days. They seem to be getting better now though. Maybe the will benefit from a week or two of steeping. I think I'll mix up another 30mL batch of each and just let them set and try them in a couple of weeks. If that's all it takes to make them good, then I wouldn't have to do much tweaking. Let me know how those King Cake and Apple Muffin recipes go, those sound pretty awesome too! My dad used to buy me a King Cake for my birthday every year when he worked out of Louisiana... the ones that I can get here in Texas now just aren't as good.
