Yep! Thanks, man!

Nah, it ain't much of a thread jack... I started this thread to review the Target mod kit when it first came out, then it kinda migrated to ceramic coils, and occasional discussions about other mods and tanks. No big deal to me. I love vaping, I love my ECF friends and family, and any discussion that has anything to do with any of that is perfectly fine by me. And as long as it stays relatively on the topic of vaping, then we aren't breaking any rules that the mods would have to enforce. They are generally very understanding and forgiving, so the occasional off-topic venture doesn't usually cause too much trouble. :)

Yeah, I have another friend in NC, too. She posted an updated forecast a little bit ago that shows it comin' right up through the middle. I certainly hope that isn't the case... y'all have had more than enough rain over there as it is... adding hurricane winds to the mix just ain't gonna make anybody's day better!

Yeah, I started the thread from the beginning and your review was awesome. I've looked at the Target at a local B&M and really liked it, but not the price. It was just the box itself, no topper for $70. Saw the online kit for under $50. It's on my list because I really like the feel of it and it just look cool as hell. Plus I want to try out the ceramic coils.

The storm may impact my plans greatly. State of emergency in 66 counties and that may increase. the state of emergency will pull a lot of fire and rescue that would normally be there for game day. Alternatives are being looked at. Looking at heavy rain and 20-30mph winds for the game. As much as I would like to see a lot of my friends, those aren't exactly favorable conditions when I can watch it on the tube, if the sat doesn't go out. Best case is they move the game to Thursday night or Friday night. Most importantly I hope everyone stays safe during the storm and it doesn't have a serious impact on the state and its residents.

Thank you very much! I really do like the mod, and any tank that'll take the cCells is a winner in my book. Those things are absolutely awesome. I'm waiting on one of the new Estoc tanks to show up so that I can give that a try. If you do want to get a Target at some point, I'd suggest the Target Pro. Same as the Target, but has updated features and will work in Temp Control with a lot of different coil options. The original Target is still my go-to when I want a no-fuss/no-muss vape. I can easily get a month worth of vape out of a single coil... and that's going through 10-15mL a day. The only thing that I have that even comes close is a squonker with rayon wicks...

I had heard that there were several places that had declared states of emergency. I hope that it isn't nearly as bad as they are predicting. The impact on residents and businesses is not something that anyone needs right now. And that's just economically speaking... beyond that, I'm keeping all of y'all over there in my prayers for safety with no loss of life or property. And I'm with ya... hopefully they'll just move the game to later in the week. That would definitely be the smart thing to do... gonna be hard on the kickers and QBs to hit their targets in 30mph winds!

The Fuchai actually does really well with TC. A lot of people have bagged on it, but I've been running mine with SS316L coils in TC mode since the day I got it, and I've had no problems with it at all. To be fair, I've not tried nickel or titanium in it yet... I got the spool of SS at the same time that I got the Fuchai, and quite honestly, the SS has spoiled me. It's much better than Ni200 or TiG1, in my opinion. I haven't played with any of the TCR functions, though... just the default SS316 setting. Then adjust the temp and the ramp-up to your preferences. If ya didn't already know, when in TC on the Fuchai, if you hold + and fire, it enters a menu called "Preheat Power Adjustment", and from there you can set your starting wattage and a time period for how long you want to hold it there before TC kicks in. You can adjust it to where there is pretty much zero ramp up time. ;)

Don't know if the Target Pro does that or not, but I know that it has settings for Ni200, Ti, SS, and TCR functions. The original Target only allows for TC mode with Ni200 (although you can still use Ti, just won't have the correct coefficients).

Alrighty, y'all... time for me to head home and find somethin' to eat. I got lucky and was able to stick around a bit late tonight to make up for the time I lost yesterday. Sometimes they're nice to me like that and let me make up my time rather than burn up all of my vacation. When it works in their favor, anyway...

Hope y'all all have a wonderful rest of your evening and night! :)

I'm not as quite as advanced as you on building coils or DIY liquids, or anything for that matter, lol, I've been using the stock SS coils. When I bought the Uwell Crown I had them swap out the stock nickel coil and replace it with an SS coil. I don't think I will even try the Ni200 coils at all. The person setting it up for me had me set it for SS304 not the SS316L.

I haven't played with the TCR functions either. Just the defaults, like you.

I know about the preheat power adjustments but haven't played with it much other than setting the wattage and moving time period a click here and a click there. Right now I'm set on 50w at .04 and 500F.

The hits I've adjusted to 50w 0.05 at 500F are good for the first few hits and them seem to putter out. If you can, breakdown the the time period setting for me. Would I get a better hit at a 0.02 than a 0.05?

Oh my gosh! Please stay safe over there. I haven't had a chance to see what this storm has been up to today until now. It's really scary. :(

I will take your recommendation on the Target Pro. I've only scratched the surface with TC on my setup but I like the warm vapei get when I do.
I second the vote for the Pro. I have both mods

Whoa, that's cool! That's my main issue with TC; the ramp up time. I hate that. I might have to play around with TC again now! :)

I'll have to grab my Target tank and throw a SS cCell in it to get closer to mimicking your set-up. My tank is running dual SS316L coils with a total of 0.25Ω. My current settings are 525°F, and the Preheat Power Adjustment is set to 55W for 1.25s. Basically, that means that when I press the fire button, it starts out immediately at 55W for the first 1.25 seconds, and then TC kicks in and adjusts the wattage to maintain my set temperature. I'll set up the Target tank on the Fuchai tomorrow and see how much difference there is between that and my regular set-up... that might make a difference in recommendations for how you are running.

Yep, I love that they put that function into the board. Kinda similar to the YiHi boards with the Powerful+, Powerful, Standard, Soft, and Eco settings... with the SX350J board, any of those settings will affect the ramp-up times to be faster or slower. I typically keep that one set to Powerful for a quick ramp up without sacrificing too much battery power. ;)

looks like the storm has slowed wayyyy down and weakened too. This bodes well for the inland counties. Still worried about my beach dwellers.

How is everyone percolating today?

Glad that it looks like the storm has kinda peeter'd out a bit... hopefully it'll continue to weaken and it won't be much more than a heavy rain for y'all. Thankfully, another of my friends that has been in SC for a little bit, is now back in VA and off of the beach. She even managed to get out before all of the traffic got too bad!

Hanging in there on this end... had a crapload of paperwork to catch up on, but finally got most of that handled. Now trying to get caught up around the boards and check in on some friends. How're things in your neck of da woods?

WHEW! I'm glad it's finally showing signs of weakening. It has caused more than enough devastation and loss of life already. :( I will be glad when this one is over. I just pray it's the last megastorm this year. Enough is enough already!

Good info on the temp control and thanks ahead of time for testing on the Fuchai.

Today has been nuts. 3 looms down and I'm only half way through getting the second one running. First loom was sticky work wrapping a roller and now I'm elbow deep in grease putting a double roller chain on. Tight space for a fat boy like me. Lol. Hofully I will be caught up by shifts end.

Tell me about it... I'm still expecting that we'll get a pretty solid storm come into the Gulf before it's all said and done. Just hope that I'm wrong...

No problem. I actually finally got around to ordering some of the SS cCells... figured it's about time that I give 'em a shot. The nickel ones sucked (for me), but the kanthal ones were awesome! If the SS is as good in them as it is in my RBAs, then I'm probably gonna be very happy with running them on the Fuchai in TC mode.

Ouch! Sounds like today's gonna be a rough one. Right now, I've still got 2 pressure vessels down, but it's gonna be a while before they're back up and running. Budget isn't allowing for us to get them repaired... they're still getting quotes from several of the local machine shops to see if they can get it done at a lower cost. Even then, it'll probably be close to $100K... nothing is ever cheap when you're dealing with 30,000 psi. Semi-fortunately, we've been really slow business-wise, and having two down hasn't had much impact... unfortunately, it's been so slow that we've had no overtime, no raises for 3 years, lots of layoffs, and most recently, a 5% pay cut. They're supposed to give our 5% back at the beginning of the year... so at least there's that.

100k for a local machine shop is big coin. We probably don't do 100k with machine shops in a year but we are a small company.

Rough 3 years at your job! Glad you survived the layoffs and hopefully get your 5% back.

100K around here actually isn't all that bad for what we're dealing with... Oil field stuff is big money around here. I operate 5 high temperature/high pressure vessels for testing parts. We max out around 40K psi and 600°F. Big, global company, though, so usually they don't even sneeze at 100K... hell, our last pressure vessel cost about 2.5m when we bought it 5 years ago or so.

It's been pretty rough. I got lucky, though. I transferred into a small department and picked up enough knowledge that it'd hurt 'em more to get rid of me than it will to keep me around. ;) Now, as soon as my immediate supervisor retires, I'm next in line to take his place. Should be sometime next year if all goes according to plan. :)

Hangin' in there, Bud... just bouncin' around the boards and tryin' to get all caught up again. LOL.
We got a little rain here this mornin', but from what I'm seein', y'all got a whole lot more if it comin' y'all's way!

I'm stocked up on sandwich stuff and snacks. Gennie is ready in case we have outages. I prepared.

Good deal! I still need to pick up a generator for the house... I keep thinkin' about getting one of the ones that run on natural gas so that I can hook it up to the gas line, but them things are expensive!

I've been saying i am going to get a generator for years, but never have. It's one of those things i never think about until i'm sitting in the dark, then i realize hey,i never did get that haha.
Back 10 years ago or so,we got hit with a big ice storm, and lost power for 5 days in the dead of winter. That one really reminded me that i needed to get one,but every store within 50 miles was sold out,i guess a whole bunch of people realized they needed one haha.
