I read it. GREAT info. Thank you! Answers the question I asked, probably helps a few people out there, if they read this loooonnnng thread. Fantastic idea to make a new thread on this very topic. Should be a sticky, after cutting out/adding to the singular vendor mentioned. I assumed premixes were there just for this purpose, many more vendors sell 36mg and lower (flavorless) than the very few that sell 100mg. However, I recently overcame my fear of 100mg and have limited storage space for a 1+ year stockpile, so I am going to jump in the deep end. Price and possible regulations made the final choice for me. After all, this can't be as hard as making a great beer from scratch, can it? I wait months for some of those to steep/age.

Using Mt. Baker's as an example, you tell them the strength of the nicotine, then you tell them the ratio of PG/VG. When you get the bottle, you simply add what ever flavoring you desire. That is about as basic as one can get. Of course, when one adds flavoring, they are weakening the strength of the nicotine by the amount of flavoring added. If you purchase the 36 mg unflavored bottle, it's pretty easy to wind up with around 24 mg nic.

If you're looking for more information, post again and I, or someone else can help you even further. You can also PM me.

If I understand this post correct.. as Schnarph was looking for a simple DIY way to make juice, that all is needed for ingredients are the unflavored nic bases and whatever flavor you want to add to it? no need to buy nic pg/vg seperate and other misc ingredients I have read from the very first post? Been reading here for hours and getting tired.

thanks for all the work you've done on this. there is so much info on the net about how to do this now. seemed to be confusing. i'm glad to see pretty much all the info i need to get started all in one place. will be at least a month before i get everything together and get started but nice to see some recipes to try. also liked the product reviews. could be very expensive to buy a bunch of flavors that aren't as strong as you thought they were gna be or taste terrible.

I've ordered from the http://www.essentialdepot.com/. They have Kosher certified PG and VG, and the prices are hard to beat. If you use the code 15OFF, you get free shipping.

Has anyone ever purchased PG and VG from Bulk Apothecary? It's rated food grade. Any concerns here?

Thanks!

I have a question about sweeteners. what does everyone use and generally how much, if one is needed.

Tiny paranoid voice in the back of my mind says the Powers That Be might make vaping extra pricey or even impossible. As the title states, my search is for a PG/VG/nic base that only needs flavor. Close to DIY, but without the complications of any ratio other than flavor. Juice makers often sell their flavors by themselves for the DIY types. I have no interest in making my own flavors, not that into candy, don't want to waste my time. I'm searching for the equivalent to a premade pancake mix, I will add the fruit/flavoring, made by a vendor that has spent far more time than I will. BTW, I can't start my own shop at all, just a bit afraid of the possible crackdown, and looking to stock up on the essentials. Vapor Renu makes a base liquid in my price range, but I don't have any experience with them. Any other options?

mtbaker sells a 236ml for $30 pick your nic strength..

236 ml Unflavored Nicotine Juice USA made - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes

ecigexpress sell 215 for around $20

That stuff is strong at 4%! 10% probably is way, way, way too much. Actually, I have not found a single FA flavour where I ever came even remotely close to 15%.

This is what they suggest for pre-mixed liquids:
Perique black 1% (Q: Flavourart)
Cuban supreme 2% (Q: Flavourart)
Dark vapure 2,5% (Q: Flavourart)
Mellow sunset 2% (Q: Flavourart)
Burley 3% (Q: Flavourart)
Latakia 2% (Q: Flavourart)
Cowboy blend 2% (Q: Flavourart)
Desert ship blend 2% (Q: Flavourart)
Virginia 2% (Q: Flavourart)

Black cherry 4% (Q: Flavourart)
Torrone 4% (Q: Flavourart)
Coffee espresso 2% (Q: Flavourart)
Vanilla bourbon 4% (Q: Flavourart)
Blackberry 1% (Q: Flavourart)
Apple pie 3% (Q: Flavourart)
Tiramisu 4% (Q: Flavourart)

Just started browsing through the DIY threads and I can't believe the amount of flavoring people are using:ohmy:! Don't mean to be judgmental but some of the mixes I've seen would knock me on my ..., permanently8-o! I use LorAnn, FW, TPA, Capella etc. I never go over %4 at most! usually more in the in the .05% to 2% range. I personally like a just subtle hint of flavor. If you are having trouble making good DIY juice or think you don't like a particular flavor, cut down on the flavoring!. I started making my DIY by vaping just the base mix with no flavoring. This way I also found the PG/VG/Nic ratio I prefer. Then add 1 drop at a time to my 15ml base mix. The one exception is Caramels up to 4%.
FWIW and hope it helps.

this thread has been very helpful for me to order some DIY supplies.. I did not order any type of sweetener as I really did not think about it.. But I am favoring sweet flavors at this time.. Does anyone use liquid sugars, stevia etc? or is there certain sweeteners to use? I am expecting my DIY stuff tomorrow and want to make sure I have all I need to start me experimentations over the weekend..

I've heard that real liquified sugar will recrystalize and gum up your atty/cartomizer. Never tried it for that reason. Sucralose is the main sweetener I see people using, but it should be pure or cut with PG, not the Walmart brand with all kinds of other stuff in it.

Some people's taste buds aren't as keen as others. I've had sinus problems all my life which affect how things taste. I need more flavoring sometimes.

I have a vendor made liquid that I want to cut the flavor strength of in half. It has already steeped for 6 weeks. I have an unflavored liquid of nearly the same MG strength and PG/VG ratio to dilute the flavor with. When I put these two together, what kind of steep time should I give it? (I assume a hot bath will help it, shaking, etc.)

Edit: Done, done, and done. Major time saver. Thanks again flintlock!

None, if it's already steeped, mix, shake, and vape!
