I have a question for those using flavour art at the recommended percentages, do you guys add any sweetner to your mixes?

Depends the ratio and what flavor you are using. I find higher VG naturally sweetens but mutes taste. I don't use much sweetener like EM, Sucralose or Stevia really. I find using other flavors work better than straight up sweeteners like marshmallow, caramel and creams.

Put this out there in a couple of places but wanted to get feedback here as well.............

Just mixed my first little batch of double RY(starting simple) and like the flavor but the vapor is ALOT less than my PG ready made bought stuff. I got all PG because that is what I'm used to. I am using this little dripping rebuildable for the first time but not convinced that's it. Whats the deal?

Great thread and resource for the new DIY people like myself. I finally finished reading this whole thread and with my new found confidence, made a batch of TFA blueberry and a batch of TFA Cappuccino last night. I think I'll let the Cappuccino steep for a couple of days but may try my blueberry today.

And I used a link found on one of the pages to e-Liquid Calculator, which is a great help.

Hi there, I have some noob questions, hopefully some of you can help me narrow down my list of flavors to buy on my first diy purchase. Ive read alot, believe i have have narrowed down my list to the best flavors to work with for my tastes, but does a condensed & updated list of top rated/reviewed flavors w/percentages exist? I specifically want to know if there are other tobacco bases like Seedman's Commercial & Tpa Tobacco blends to consider adding to my list, as well as vanilla, chocolates, & ry4's that are not to sweet & are easy enough for a diy beginner to mix up w/o fail. My apologies in advance if this doesn't belong in this forum. Thanks for your support.

Personally, I wouldn't try DIY if I were you until do do understand everything. Messing with nicotine is no joking matter. You don't have to buy 100mg strength though. You can get what ever strength you currently vape and just mix in the flavoring to start. Yes, it's the more expensive DIY route, but less room for errors. You may find that you've become comfortable with DIY, and later go for the more concentrated nic. Start off small. You may find you don't like it at all.

Wow.. this is fabulous! After almost 15 months of trying many, many juice vendors and too many flavors to count, I've finally decided on two or three juices that I keep going back to. And I'm thinking it might be time to try a little DIY... it's a bit overwhelming though. I've read every sticky but I'm still a little confused... I generally use 70/30 pg/vg so should I buy my nic in pg base? And is there anything wrong with getting 100mg nic and diluting it with equal amount of pg to make a 50mg mix to work with? I understand the dangers of nic and I have no children around so I don't worry about that. I've downloaded the calculator and it seems.... well, not easy maybe, but do-able. Many thanks to all of you... great info here!

Your question does belong in this forum! Sorry though, I can't help you with the tobacco flavors. Tobacco is one of the toughest mixes to get right there is in DIY. Capella's has some of the best vanilla flavors.

While the calculator listed here may be a nice tool, it is for windows only. I for one, have a mac and the tool I listed above is web based so it works with both MACs and Windows..

Any suggestions for a "Virginia" baccy ... it's a ready made MFS arrived 2 weeks ago. Tis sorely lacking "body", substance, would I be wasting flavoring adding RY4 flavor drops, or Desert Joe? Also have choc, expresso & vanilla ice cream?

I haven't started actual DIY but have almost all the stuff. I have mixed some ready made flavors ( like on their own) together but at a loss on approaching this one. Want to do more reading before trying from scratch.

Also - a highly touted recipe calls for tobacco absolutes. Does this make or break the recipe? I've not come across any reason to use it other than being for people w/ difficulty breaking from stinkys.
Thank you ...

Started a little mixing and question. What can be added to knock back sweetness? I made a RY4 that is just too sweet. I saw Lemon juice, vinegar?

My LIMITED understanding is: lemon makes fruit flavors pop. Vinegar the rest.

True / false: ethyl maltos modifies sweetness AND flavor?
