Using a 510 from a very respected and popular supplier here
My supplier is good and have not heard of anyone having problems like this. I trust his site and his goods and don't want to make unfounded acusations.

I know this has to be my problem and need your help. Been vaping for almost 3 months and I'm going on atty #5, current one started on Nov 1.
Just six days in and like the last ones already has a very hard draw like the last 2 from Oct.
Now I have only had 1 die completely cold, I get that, these thing don't last forever but what am I doing to cause these things to have such a hard draw so fast. I thought it may be the cart filling too tight (using PTB,orig filler, straw, blue faom) doesn't seem to matter. I'm not what I consider a heavy vaper, I understand flooding and blowing out, dripping, etc. Just can't figure it out.
Also, I have had 1 atty going for over 2 months that always vapes easy and smooth with lot of vapor no matter what. That just seems good luck on my part. I dread starting up a new atty knowing that in a week I'll get so frustrated with it.
As for cleaning, I'm not an advocate of it, but that said, in frustration with past atty's, Ive tried cleaning and that has not killed them ( as in cold) but has not improved any performance.

I know, only $8 bucks a piece but obviously I'm doing something wrong and I just can't see it. I'm ready to give up.

Any advice from the pros? ( that meaning all of you :) ), thanks

The filler in the cart is outside of the flow. The only places that the 510 airflow can be plugged is the sides of the cart to the hole in the mouthpiece (blow it out) and the air intakes above the threads of the atty and through the coil, bridge, etc. (blow from threaded end to clear the coil, bridge into a paper towel forcefully but only by mouth) then blow from the cart end covering the center hole on the threaded end so that you're blowing out the intakes - blow and suck to dislodge anything there. If there is so much gunk built up around the coil, that could be it as well or if somehow the air intakes are blocked when screwing in - too much dripping causing a build up of gunk in the battery threads and well, then that could be a blockage as well. That's about it.

I've been vaping for just over a month. I have the Joye 510. My first two atomizers are still working great, producing tons of vapor, drawing smoothly. The only things I've done to maintain them are:
  • Blew both out maybe once a week to remove built up liquid.
  • Boiled each for one minute, allowed them to cool, then blew them out while still moist, let them dry overnight. Awesome results.
By the way, I use the original filler that came with the cartridges. I rinse it maybe once a week. Tried the tea bag mod and didn't really find it worth the effort.

I'll add this: I have both the round and the whistle tip mouthpieces, and I find that the whistle tips draw more smoothly. I have no idea why that is. I rinse out my carts with hot water when I clean the filler material, and while they're wet I blow/suck (no jokes please!) to get the water to clean out the air holes.

I've dismantled 2 510 attys so far to try and figure this out myself. Kent C is right on the button from my findings.

Once I removed the bridge and wick and could look directly at the coil, if clean and new, you should be able to see out the bottom of the atty on the threaded end.

My attys had so much buildup of dried and crusted juice around the coil that it was blocking that hole. That is what was causing my very stiff draw and no matter what I tried, couldn't fix it.

So with that, I took my tweasers and picked at the coil. Big hunks and chucks came off the coil and all of a sudden, I could see out the bottom. If one could figure out how to safely clean the coil, the draw would improve.

I've tried almost every cleaning method out there. From dry burns to crest mouthwash and all I have to say is none have worked well for me to loosen the draw. Dry burns have helped maintain vapor production and throat hit, and the crest mouthwash did help clean out flavor and improve wicking, but as for cleaning the draw, nada.

I have learned that if I could get 3ish weeks out of an atomizer, i would be happy. But don't feel bad about going back to analogs, just realize that this is part of how vaping works.

Have you checked out other models? I think cartomizers would be better for you. No atty to deal with and no cart filler. We have the KR808D now and the draw is almost too light but every few days, toss the cartomizer and slap on a new one. Back to day 1 frest draw vaping and the cost is really cheap too if you manage to get a few days from 1 cartomizer.

I appriciate all responses, I am so frustrated, I am now smoking analogs, I have never done that out of frustration til now, feel bad. will have to try new vendor to prove that I am not crazy

did so well for 3 mnths and now this, so let down by my lack of willpower
embarressed at this moment

sh$t

Don't sweat it. What's a few more cigs in the grand scheme of things? Who among us that have smoked literally thousands of them is going to criticize you? At least you know that it can work for you. That's half the battle. The rest is just logistics.
