I just celebrated 365 days analog-free yesterday. That's right...a whole freakin' year without a real smoke thanks to e-cigs. I do feel great! I am seriously thinking of weening off of vaping and go totally nicotine-free. Wish me luck..I'll keep you posted over the next couple of weeks/ months.:D

I wish you all the best. GOOD LUCK and please do keep us up to date. There are 20 thousand+ members on this forum with less than 1/2 active. One has to wonder if they gave up all forms of nicotine and vaping or if they went back to smoking. I wish we had the answer! :D

I bought my first e-cig on Friday 30th October 2009 and it was that evening that I had my last analogue rollie. So nearly 3 days cigarette free for me, am just starting out but feeling very positive, already I can feel the positives
Sense of smell is so much better
Taste has intensified
No tight chest
No sense of stress building of when I can have my next rollie

All in all I never want to smoke analogue cigarettes again! Had got quite sick of them the few weeks leading up to buying my e-cig so am still a bit in awe that I don't want to smoke anymore it doesnt quite feel real. :w00t:

I got a 901 last thursday, have been a 1+ pack a day smoker of Marloboro Smooth's for about 12-13 years (not all those years were Smooths, as they just came out recently) , have never wanted to quit, i loved smoking, my wife was always on me that i needed to quit as she had last year. I simply did not have the slightest urge to quit, ever. I heard of vaping from a friend at work, researched it for a few days and ordered my 901. I got it last Thursday night, and have not had one puff off of an analog since, nor do i feel the urge to have one. I am currently using 24mg menthol. It definately covers my nic urges, and the physical urges to "smoke". It amazes me how easy it was to do this, going from "I will not quit" to quitting so simply. Although, i must say this bad attempt at menthol is quickly becoming gross tasting, but alas I have more flavors coming in the mail.

Its easy to quit with the ecig but i found after a many months
i was turning back to the analogues.I now vape and smoke,
sure i smoke less but i struggle to avoid the anolgues completely.
i have tried many times now but after a few months i fall
i ended up with the pv permanently welded to myabsstbtion aree

must try harder at tricking my mind into believing the ecig is the same as a cigarette !
Same here Kit,I started out great was having 1 or 2 now and then but after a few months I noticed I was gradually smoking more,But still smoking less than 1/2 of what I was.2 packs a day for nearly 40 years.

There's a convenience store that's a three-minute walk from my front door. I remind myself of that every day. I've been off analogs since June 21, and there have been some rough spots, mostly concerning equipment failure. It took some doing but found a reliable PV (510). I spent the money and bought enough back-up equipment to keep me feeling secure. And I guess that's when I decided I didn't want to be an addict any more. There aren't any cigarettes in the house, and in 19 weeks, I've stepped my nicotine content down from 36mg to 9mg. I started out wanting to gleefully stick it to the government and the tobacco companies, but I'm still vaping now because I want to be nicotine free someday. I might vape for the rest of my life, but I won't ever smoke again.

Im not too far into this, I orginally planned on slowly cutting back. I figured I would smoke in the car and at work. Well, the first day I only had 1 cigarette. By the end of the week I was still nursing the same pack of cigarettes I had when i got my kit. Tomorrow will mark the first payday EVER my entire life that I am not going to buy cigarettes. I actually ended up throwing out that last pack. :)

I am still new at this, having received my starter kit about 3 weeks ago. On the day I started vaping, I had a few analogs. The next day I had some analogs first thing in the morning, then none the rest of the day. Day 3 was the same.

I made up my mind that if I could go virtually all day, I could give up those morning smokes too. On the fourth day I was analog free, and have been now for 18 days.

I still have some leftover packs in the house and car. I actually keep them there on purpose, it helps me mentally to know they are there. But I don't have any desire for them.

For the first time, I am confident that it's over. Analogs don't have a hold on me anymore. :thumb:

As soon as I got my kit I quit smoking and chewing completely. I did both for over 20 years and chewed for 25 years. If I wasn't smoking I had a dip in. I held on to my pack of smokes and my can of chew for almost a week (just in case) before I gave them to some co-workers. I never even had the urge to go back to either of them!
It's been almost 2 weeks and I can breathe again. I don't go to bed wheezing or wake up hacking a lung. I am getting my sense of smell and taste back. :thumb:
