As I'm poor, and live in a cardboard box under a freeway overpass, I must live vicariously, through the spending habits of others. Bought anything lately suspect? ;-)

Just a hammer, 3d, origen, omega, more kfl+'s, nano tanks, batteries, and liquid. I got about 8 packages in one day..I must have crossed the line, and I'll keep the 'c' word out of this post, but you should know me by now... I was just considering a turtleship or nemesis, but you had to come in to the picture to complicate things..:) what about yous?

voidness
I was aware of the issues the UK users were having, and mentioned it on a different thread but wasn't sure if we were allowed to link to other forums. But I'm glad that Flux linked it so everyone could see. Knowing the issues, I was being ridiculously careful with the glass, handling it like it was the last piece of glass on the planet.

So, I followed the suggestions from that thread:

Getting these tanks on without cracking the glass
1) pretty much soak the o-rings in juice or some pg/vg
2) get some on the inside of the glass as well
3) put the base on a table
4) rest the tank on the base
5) gently push the tank down but you want to aim to put more pressure on one side so the tank half slips over the o-ring
6) now apply pressure on the tank starting from the side that is over the o-ring and move your finger around the edge and it should just slid on really really easy

Took a lot of juice, soaked o-rings and tank. First side went in really smoothly, no issues. Flipped it over, other side was requiring some force.. Tried it for a few minutes, very very gently. No go. Removed the side that was already in, no issues. Flipped glass, tried the same base again, worked perfectly again. Still, the other base would not go in. It had more resistance than the first.

well... results:

no, that's the Tarsius Customs Quartz Kit.

Still trying to order the SoV kit.

Ended up calling jvapes to see if Tarsius had contacted them about the updated versions/fixes. They were very helpful and offered me a free replacement glass tank. I told them I felt responsible for breaking it and would prefer to pay for the replacement. They insisted in sending me the replacement free of charge. Really great customer service that I believe deserves to be mentioned.

I will let you guys know how it goes.

Came with what? I just received an ehPro KFL+ today and it definitely didn't come with a glass tank.. not sure what you're referring to.

oh, i misread this title hah! mine came with a full plastic tank. well, i sure feel like a silly goose. but a pyrex tank would be kinda sweet. at least a middle section.

Thanks very much 4thpower. Living in a cardboard box under a freeway overpass, I have a lot of time on my hands for "quality info". :p

I was on Tarsius Customs FB page this AM and came across a few comments by the owner of Tarsius... Pando Rodrigo.

"We would like to apologize if the glass quartz did not fit, this is a process we are currently aware of. We will definitely find a way to get the replacements to you."

"Same goes to the other Quartz Kits out now, we know which batch had the problem and rest assured that we are working with the concerned vendors to resolve the problem. Thanks for letting us know."

"We decided to flame treat both ends of the glass without compensating for the change in diameter after flame treating. Agaiin, we apologize for not seeing the effect. We are working on the replacements and they will soon get to you."

So... they are well aware, and are standing behind glass failure issues, if you contact them. Good for them.

Hope they get this right they will sell tons of them.
