I have noticed that my fascination and wanting to read and explore everything regarding vaping has faded to a large degree . Nowadays i vape but have pretty much settled on what i need and like in my vape and don't buy much at all anymore (and i am very satisfied lol)

I also want to say if not for finding vaping and this website i believe i would still be smoking because i was very concerned about how i was going to stop having tried nearly all the latest stop smoking aids and failing .

Imo , vaping is the single most effective way of beating the deadly cig habit , no other method comes close in my view .

What about everyone else , are you still in the obsessed stage or have things changed over time ?

Thank you

It can happen. I tend to get gung ho about my hobbies and some fascinations last longer than others. I went through a photography stint where I was consuming every bit of info available and buying every lens in sight (gets expensive quick!) but thankfully I settled down from doing that.

I'm still a big vaping hobbiest, even after a year (next month).

I only been vaping 4 months but I've found I have all I need, for now. I have a slew of clearomizers and a couple of regulated mods as well as a Reo Grand and several drippers for it. I also DIY ejuice. But with all the new stuff coming out I'm still fascinated with it all. I have a dna40 of some sort in my sights.

Yes definitely. Haven't bought any new gear since the Nautilus Mini. I see some new stuff coming, DNA40, Provari 3 and the iTaste SVD V2.0, and think "I'll buy one of those". Then I wake up and realize I DON'T NEED any more gear. What I have, Provari 2.5, iTaste VV V3, Nautilus Mini and standard and several Kayfun RTA's, has kept me away from cigarettes for 6 months and I don't need anything more stuff.

Actually I'm giving some of my stuff to noobs. I am also going to stop vaping in the near future. So why would I want to buy more gear.

Yep, for me it has.
I've spent a LOT of $$ and time over the last 14 months. However I've now found my happy place with GP gear and am now pretty much just in sustainment mode. I'm only buying juice and spare parts pretty much.
I don't desire the latest and greatest mod or atty any more. I've found the coil and wicking medium I'm happy with and don't care to chase the nifty new coil of the week.
It started out as a hobby but now I just want to change batts, fill it and vape it and not have to worry about it.

Im only about 5 months into vaping. I have already spent a few thousand on gear. Several hundred within the first 2 weeks. Started w Vision Spinner 2 and a protank knockoff that I couldnt find coils for then some mechs, then a Provari 2.5, now its the Vapor Shark rDNA. And countless tanks and RDAs. It took me about 3 months to find what I really need from my vape. I have slowed down on spending but not stopped. I just plan it more now that I know what I like. Hello Vaporflask DNA 40 preorder. I have actually started to save money now as they told me I would in the beginning. I love vaping.

i went into vaping full speed. i started with a little ego kit...within 2 weeks i got a vmax vv mod within 3 months i got a provari mini. i started diy'ing @ 4 months finding out i wasent any good at it . finding a good tank setup was the hardest thing. after a few rebuildables i got a russian 91%. now i have found i can make my own juice i dont need to keep buying things at a blinding pace to keep up.. im happy with the things i got they work well for me the only thing i want to get now is a dna 40 mod and that might be it for a while unless some super tank setup comes out....im just glad im not smoking anylonger
i dont know if you can see my banner ..i cant.. but im 20 months into this and lovin it

I want the fascination to fade, but I'm new, so it's difficult. I'm hoping that two mods and three nice tanks will be enough to put me into maintenance mode, so that I'm only buying coils, juice, and replacements when needed. But everything is so shiny, and there's the MVPv3 soon and the Nautilus V2 soon and and and...

Right there with you, OP. After doing what is essentially damage control and repeating myself for ten hours, six days a week, the LAST thing I do when I come home is watch or read more vape websites. I consider this forum the only exception.

I quit smoking 3 yrs ago and started vaping, I was on here quite a bit buying and selling all the latest gadgets.
I even quit vaping about 1 year ago and left ECF.
Well 3 months ago I picked up an analog and was right back to being a PAD smoker.

I have come back now for awhile and the desire for all the latest gadgets is not as important as it used to be.
I want, as has already been said here, to simply load batteries and juice and vape on.

As Busardo says, I am doing this to stay away from analogs. I just bought a VW device because the Vmax was the "hot" item when I left and the simplicity of setting wattages without worrying about all the other settings is very appealing to me at this juncture. With the "new" for the moment BVC coils things are good and settled again.

An extremely limited budget keeps me in check. I still like browsing and taking notes for the future though.

Yup , thats one thing that will usually keep people in check but it's no secret that even having a budget doesn't eliminate people from over doing it with this stuff . Opening up your credit card bill can be a real reality check because a lot of these small purchases add up real quick.

Four months and you have all that already , dang , i still don't have that kind of quality stuff lol , a REO , way to go.

Thats all i have and one of them was donated to me from a very special and caring member on this site , still use it everyday and happily it fulfills all my needs.

100% with you on that , don't get me wrong , if i had a lot more $$ to spend at the beginning i would of bought more but i never had that luxury .

I want to thank everybody for taking the time to share their experiences , it's appreciated.
