Dude, whatever. I think you meant to call Dial-an-argument. You got the wrong number.
Thank you for proving my point, i.e. you are all just a bunch of high wattage haters because else you would recommend to try all vaping styles as opposed to recommending MTL.

We DO recommend trying all vaping styles..... Most of us enjoy ALL vaping styles. We just don't recommend ALL vaping styles to those trying to make the transition from cigarettes to vaping unless someone specifically states something like: "I want to quit smoking by doing something completely unlike smoking and that I'll likely find unpleasant." So far, I haven't seen anyone post that but if I do, I'll tag you in so you can help out.

LOL..... It's pretty common practice to pass on advice based on experience of whats works. You sir, are a prime example of how vaping has actually lost it's way. It once was grown ups helping other grown ups stop smoking and finding what works. Now it's full of opinionated, narrow minded, uneducated experts knocking what they know nothing about. Hopefully, the new members will be wise enough to ignore your ridiculous advice.
Having quit smoking at the time when MTL was the only thing available means you have no experience comparing it to other vaping styles as far as quitting smoking goes. No experience, as in, none whatsoever, and that is despite how grown-up you think you really are so thank you for proving my point again.

I don't need the experience of trying to quit using high wattage DL gear to quit smoking to know it's not worth recommending.. This forum is full of first hand examples from people who got the same advice you give from some cool kid in a vape shop. They come in here and ask for help. More often than not, these people are steered towards something a little milder and they actually quit.

Vaping is something completely unlike smoking. You have no way of telling what others will likely find unpleasant, and, that's just because you're not others so please stop pretending that you are.

Yes, that's exactly my point. You don't need experience to know everything there is to know about vaping as a smoking cessation tool because no, you're definitely not pushing...:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Funny observations in my anecdotal experience. All the smokers I know who were interested in my vaping have followed a predictable path. First is interest. Then is "can I try it?". Assuming they're a family member or someone I have no aversion to deep kissing, I'll let them try my middle of the road temp control setup, say 40W 400F with a dual coil build. They then experience that first puff choking thing like we all did with our first cigarette. They like the idea, enjoy the flavor, but all find it too "strong" for them. So I send them off for a Juul.

About a month later I'll get "this is great but those pods are expensive, could you suggest other stuff I can try?". Then I'll help them move along depending what sense of vaping they sorta like and encourage them to worry about not smoking, not vape gear chasing. Some stay light mtl users, some end up wanting a high air easy draw cloudy vaping experience.

But hey, that's just anecdotal personal experience being at this only a few years now. Could be a there's a new vaper out there who needs a totally different approach. No such thing as always or never. You can always find an outlier in any area. I just like to stick with what works for most, not the exception.

IMO vaping lost way because those who already admitted that they quit smoking at the time when MTL was the only thing available, which means that they had no way to compare ANYTHING outside of MTL as far as quitting smoking goes, are trying to force their opinions on others about EVERYTHING as far as quitting smoking goes.

Ah, I tried to quit this time around with a sub0hm setup mainly because my kid quit SMOKING (on a sub0hm setup) and when he quit vaping, well he gifted it to me.

I hated everything about it, but I am ONE example of a person who started with sub0hm, moved to MTL and STILL hates everything about sub0hm.

I also find your assumption that because MTL worked for me, I push it to new vapers. I don't. The ONLY time where I will UNEQUIVICALLY recommend MTL is for if someone already has COPD because it's pretty much a guarantee that they MAY find it harder to handle the sheer volume of vapor at least at first, and even then I take the time to explain the CATEGORIES and what does what.

The rest of the time these days , I will say to a vaper, "IF you can afford it, and that is an IF, get a cheap box mod, and a sub0m tank and a MTL tank and try both and see where you lean, because in my OPINION it is the cheapest way to find out which style of vaping you prefer and if it's MTL oh well, your box mod will give you nice lengthy battery life."

Variety in vaping styles is a GOOD thing, not a BAD thing, but it can certainly make life difficult for a newcomer, and IN MY OPINION the way I suggest is probably the easiest, cheapest, and swiftest way for a person to get to where they need to be.

I find your insistence that MTL gets "pushed" anymore than "DL" gets pushed to be FALSE. There are equal amounts of it going on, like LOOK AT YOU you have done nothing except insist that DL is the ONLY way to go, and increasingly shrill in your protests.

Just accept that there are many types of vapes, vapers will have to experiment to see what works, and that includes pods but just be happy for every vaper who winds up in their HAPPY place and pushing ANY style of vaping over another style is just folly in my opinion and depressing, too, because it shows a strong lack of reasoning and ALSO a sort of "need" for everyone to vape DL just because YOU like it.

You are a person who is surrounded by people who are dissimilar to you, and by all means recommend DL if you believe in it but also understand that you are ONE person and it's a false dichotomy and if you SHOVE DL at someone that is as bad a SHOVING MTL at someone, so apparently you are worse than many of the people you are preaching to, etc.

I never assumed that "because MTL worked for you, you push it to new vapers". Nor even assumed that necessarily EVERYONE who quit smoking with MTL at the time when MTL was the only thing available, pushes it to new vapers, BUT... as you can see for yourself from the reactions I have been getting right here in this thread, there are several who did not have the opportunity to compare anything outside of MTL at the time when they quit smoking, and, ironically, the fact that they were lacking this opportunity to compare anything tends to make them feel entitled to preach on about that which they never even compared so they got all bent out of shape about something that they never actually even tried, but even more ironically on top of that, I'm the one who got accused of preaching on about DTL, when the reality is that everyone who is capable to read my posts can see that I never tried to push DTL on new vapers, but rather, I merely called out those who tried to push MTL on new vapers and who attacked me by completely utterely twisting my words, page after page after page.

Full Disclosure: there is no question in my mind that without vaping I would still be smoking. Thankfully it has been 2.5 years since my last analog.
This technology saved me from that toxic invention.
As I sit with my DNA paranormal 250c with a lovely Zeus RTA topper I have no doubt benefited from up grading and discovery more and more about producing a better vape for myself.
Forums such as this are invaluable for a vapers journey.

So I ask, has vape culture and vape companies lost their focus: getting smokers to switch to healthy alternatives? If it has why? How can it be fixed?
If it hasn't what is working?
I fear that we the vapers are so enamored with our newest purchase that we may have forgotten that most folks think we are just shills for big tobacco.
We aren't. In fact most here despise cigarette companies for the years of addicted torture they put us through or we where willing to go through for lack of choice.
Has our movement toward a healthier alternative lost its momentum?
My only worry is if the government decides to enforce the august 8 2016 deadline for no new gear. We have advanced so rapidly in 2 years you cant even find mods or tanks made back then. We would have literal have no products available unless they start making 2016 products again and who knows if china will want to do that. I think the last RTA before the deadline was the Cylin RTA and the last MOD was the RX200s lol

This is the most important part of the reason why vaping lost way. I.e., vaping lost way, but vaping doesn't know it yet.

How can a dubious entity not only "lose it's way" but even more eerily "not know it yet?"

Vaping is an act. It is a THING YOU DO. It is not sentient, not even the SLIGHTEST amount, vaping does not KNOW anything, it does not feel anything, it does not EVEN MOVE AIMLESSLY ABOUT, let alone lose its way.

If you mean the vaping community perhaps you should say that.

You are going to have to learn how to make yourself coherent if you don't want people "twisting your words" which is NOT happening, you are kind of contradicting yourself incoherently all over the place.

If you want to argue a point, it would be good to understand the properties of oh, "logic" and "rationale" and "clarity" and etc.

I believe you may be the person who has "lost their way" or at the very least "lost the thread of the conversation" quite some time ago.

You have no coherent words to twist, so it's ridiculous to state that your "argument is being twisted."

Learn to make one, and then perhaps you will have a reasonable SHOT at complaining that everyone is misinterpreting your words.

I mean... No offense.... But mah God.

Vaping is an act, but vaping is also my friend so I thought my figurative speech was obvious. So when vaping is under attack, I take offense because vaping is what helped save my life, and, if you read my posts more carefully before hitting the reply button, maybe you would understand that I take offense when some certain individuals attack vaping as a smoking cessation tool by recommending MTL as a smoking cessation tool as opposed to recommending VAPING as a smoking cessation tool, and THIS is why I think vaping has lost way indeed.

No you are not preaching DTL... you are just bashing MTL
How long were you comparing DTL/MTL/tanks/RTAs... how many those atties you owned? I have 3 DTL tanks, 6 different MTL RTAs/tanks and one RDA.

You wrote
]I just consider myself lucky (and smart of course) that I didn't listen to useless advice from those who keep claiming the best way to start is MTL or a tank

So... Mtl is useless advice... even tanks will not do it for you...

Even if I had started by using a DL tank I would still be smoking cigarettes thinking vaping is not for me

So please tell me do you really believe that the only way to quit smoking and have satisfying vape is to follow your path below:

Even if I had started by using a DL tank I would still be smoking cigarettes thinking vaping is not for me. I started with a pair of handmade fused claptons at 80 watts in a Wotofo Troll RDA 2, that I bumped to 90 watts after one week, and I built my own pair of staple staggered fused claptons all the way from point zero within my first vaping month, replaced the fused claptons with them whilst bumping my Reuleaux RX2/3 to 140 watts, and then I grabbed the Reuleaux RX300 another week or so after that.

If MTL is not good and even DTL tanks are not good enough what advice you would give to person who want to quit smoking and enjoying vaping but when trying to vape BabyBeast at 30 watts is coughing his lungs out?

Start at 80 and after one week bump the wattage to 90? Buy Wofoto RDA and use pair of staggered fused claptons at 140?

Give me a break!

No, I am not bashing MTL, and, by claiming that I am bashing MTL, you are only trying to cover up the fact you're the one who is bashing, repetitively incessantly in fact. I am pointing out the simple fact you are bashing every vaping style that isn't MTL, as you keep belittling smokers who want to quit smoking by VAPING rather than want to quit smoking by following your own ridiculous misconceptions about vaping that are somehow causing you to recommend MTL to those same smokers, when the reality is you haven't even compared MTL used as a smoking cessation tool to any other vaping style used as a smoking cessation tool. The advice I would give to a person who wants to quit smoking is that there is no standard answer to the question of what's the best way to do that, and that, if someone claims that this is false, then this someone should never be taken seriously about any subject related to vaping. Exactly because of this, the rest of your retort isn't even worth replying to.

Mtl?
Dl?
Rda?
Rta?
Sub tank?
Title puffer?
Mech?
Pod?
Pen?
Mod?

Certainly are a lot of options. Isn't that what makes vaping the evasive technology some health professionals, lobbies, and government officials fear: oh sh$t it's a non FDA approved technology that ACTUALLY works to help smokers quit, how are we supposed to make tax revenue off of that?

I guess the point of my post was that we who have found our vape and left the stinkies behind have more in common than we tend to think and we often get lost in the minutia of how and what rather than agreeing that it worked. And asking our selves: how can we and the companies we support attract more voices to our cause? This to me is the momentum.

Maybe I'm wrong but we people do have power. Those who make the rules hope we squabble with each other rather than with them.

So what is your not standard answer to the same question? It does not to have to be the best way... just good enough to have satisfying vape and not coughing lungs out.

I know you advise not to use MTL , DTL tanks... is RDA the only option?... I ask because I started with DTL and high wattage Smok 0.15 ohm and 0.25 ohm M2 coils... if it not advice to try Nautilus 2 with BVC 0.7 ohm coils I would be still smoker... See my signature... 230 days and I am not only not smoking but actually enjoying vaping MTL... recently I even can handle high wattage on my Baby Beast and Uwell Crown DTL tanks... my lungs work much better and for short period of time I can somewhat enjoy different type of vape...

On page 2 of this thread I described recent real life situation when coworker asked me for advice... I did not gave him advice use MTL not a DTL... I just handed him my mods with Baby Beast, Nautilus2 and Siren2 attached... I said choose the one which gives you most easy, satisfying vape... couple puffs on each and he chose without slightest hesitation Nautilus 2... he is already almost a week without single cigarette... Not always advice/recommendation will work and there is no guarantee he will quit for good but such advises as the one you gave (there is no standard answer to the question of what is the best way......) will help nobody...

Has vaping lost it's way? I don't think it has, it's just getting started good. Yes it passed some but we've only scratched the surface to what it could be. A truly safe power source, a device where no liquid or nicotine is needed a device without health concerns and what ever a bright mind can think of and invent. Yes we've only just begun and still have generations to see it play out and grow.
