So what exactly are you looking for? A new battery or tanks, or juice?

Mostly just looking for affordable options for batteries or mods, I like my BDC for the cloud and flavor it gives but it floods every time the tank gets down to about 1/3 full, which about 1 ml of liquid, I'm thinking it's just the brand I'm using. Also want to know how fast people upgraded after there first kit etc. I wish I found this site sooner, I paid $50 for a kit with a 650 mah battery and like a 1.5 ml tank with no extras. Excited to get home got vape mail from killer juice, I've heard great things about them...

My best advice is to not lower the nic level to quickly. It's a recipe for failure. My sister tried to go from smoking to zero nicotine vaping in the course of two weeks. Needless to say, she is back to smoking for now. Nicotine itself is not the enemy here, tobacco smoke is. Due it gradually and keep your previous level handy in case there's a problem with the transition.

As far as equipment goes, sounds like you have some time to do some research. There are tons of reasonably priced, well performing options out there for you.

I made this mistake myself, as I was all twisting myself into contortions, patting myself on the back with both hands and feet, congratulating myself on how easily I quit smoking with vaping and had "already" dropped my nicotine level from 18 to 12.

Then I started to get all oogy, and irritable. When I caught myself trying to get a whiff of second hand smoke, I realized nicotine was the problem. I went back to 18 with the tanks, but since in the meantime I had gotten better equipment, I also took to using 6mg in my drippers and all is well. No more oogy.

I even keep a 24 mg tank filled. For when I'm having a real nic fit.

Ouch, yeah ... that's kind of high :(

You can usually find a ZMax for a fairly decent price or some of the other suggestions that have been offered.
It took me quite a while to upgrade, I didn't really see the need until someone gave me a ZMax ... and that was all she wrote
Been through quite a few mods since but am happy now with a ProVari ... not for the budget minded tho'

He's not being one on purpose he always looks at me like I'm an alien when I start talking about vape stuff, probably because he knows nothing, and never even thought of picking up such a thing, he just says to wait until we can afford it better, but he would rather buy me a game for my bday, as we both game, so it's something he understands. Not to mention I hardly buy games for myself. He highly encourages my vaping, but don't get why I wanna upgrade so fast.. And saving money is easier said than done, especially considering I have a cat and a dog that need spayed, and told mom I'd help her get her cat fixed. And two birthdays and Christmas coming up, and winters coming so here comes huge power bills... Like I said I'll probably just buy an MVP in January and start building my tank and juice collection after that. Unless my battery dies before then.
What's everyone think of services like zamplebox? Looking for a cheap way to try different flavors/brands

Vaping can get quite expensive but imo you do not have to spend a fortune to get a good mod and atty. Just research on ECF and on the interweb thingy. I too started with a couple of eGo's and those dual coil clearomizers and a juice that now seems like trash when I think about it. lol
I was guided by my desire for flavor and nicotine and dropped from 24mg down to 6mg after getting into mechanical's, but that took 5 months. Don't rush it and eventually you will find a niche. Whether it is VV or mechanical. Also like everyone said already, there are plenty of affordable tanks out there if tanks is your thing. I drip and squonk and always will I recon.

This sounds more like a significant other issue rather than a vaping issue to me personally, you really need to prepare yourself and set up a time where you and your boyfriend can really talk in depth about how important it is for you to quit smoking for your health and your future and how much better vaping is for you than spending money on cigarettes. Honestly I think if he really cares about you and you bring something to him that you are obviously in to and care about it would be pretty heartless not to hear you out and at least try to learn SOMETHING about vaping to help you on your path to quitting cigarettes. My Wife has never smoked in her life, never understood why someone would and she watched me smoke a pack a day for 11 years...when I came to her with a real plan to quit and to switch over to vaping I had to SERIOUSLY convince her it was real and I was all for it, I had printed out documents to show the health benefits and everything to make sure she had the best possible understanding of what I was doing. NOW she is the most supportive person of my vaping in the world and loves that I've quit smoking and is always encouraging me to keep at it and do what I need to keep vaping, if I had never sat down and talked with her she wouldn't be nearly as informed as she is now.

Tell him you're either gonna go back to spending $5 a day on smokes or put away $5 a day until you have enough to buy a setup that satisfies you enough to not smoke. Don't ask, inform. He's being a (D)(I)(C)(K). Look out for yourself on this one.

Remember, it's always better to ask forgiveness afterward, than permission beforehand. ;)

Explain that your setup feels like smoking super ultra lights and its just not enough. Also, my black MVP v2 has a type of powder coating, not paint. Very durable. If the 11w limit is enough, it's a great piece. Especially if you ditch the soft brass connector.

He understands the how's and whys etc. I've explained a lot of the parts but he is a bit clueless when I start talking technical stuff like ohms and volts. He also doesn't understand what I mean when I say my coils are flooded, he is a real sweetie when it comes to a lot of other things though, and reminds me to check my sugar and stuff.

Personally, I'm shocked anyone is still recommending the Protank when the Aerotank is a comparable price option. Not disagreeing with you, as I still rock my mini pro 3 sometimes when I want a tighter draw, but surprised, because I still see a lot of this recommendation.
Honestly? cuz I don't have an aerotank. I've tried em, I like em, but I know that the protanks are basically bulletproof.

He wants to get you a game because HE wants the game. My last ex did this, too...bought me gifts he wanted. He collected toy tractors so guess what I got for my birthday or Christmas? I was a 40 year old woman, I didn't want Ertyl tractors.

You need the e cig for your health. If he doesn't get that, time for a new guy.

I wouldn't necessarily assume that. My girlfriend and I are both gamers too... maybe he already has a copy and wants them to play together or something. It's a real nice way for extremely nerdy couples to bond.

That being said... Ninja, if you needs better try to get better. If I had an extra working mod I could send I would (my baby goes through mods fast, too much droppage)...maybe someone around here has one they don't need and would be willing to let it go for cheap.

Money mainly. I have a set budget for vaping, and most of it goes to juice. When I told my boyfriend that I wanted an itaste MVP for my birthday he looked at me like I grew a second head and asked why I need another e-cig lol. So yep mostly stuck with it til January at least. Lol

You really do need to have a backup. What happens if your tank or ego or charger fails? Back to cigs? The MVP is very reliable, and then you have the ego as backup. The MVP comes with an iclear tank, some people like them, some don't, but at least it's there as a backup.

Actually, the game is for my 3ds which he doesn't play much because of his disability, and I've been looking forward to it, honestly, but right now I would rather have the MVP, and get the game for valentines day. And my ego is ok-ish, short time between charges and non-vv/vw. It's already started to die though, based on the time between charges though. :(

I think you two still need to so some more thinking about priorities. Absolutely, taking care of the animals and power bills come first. But if going back to smoking is a possibility if you don't succeed at vaping, you're going to have to get what you need to be a successful vaper. For most people, that means a reliable setup and some backup gear. My egos and mini protanks served me well, but weren't always perfectly reliable, I made sure to carry a backup in case of a coil gunking up or battery dying unexpectedly.

As far as liquid, my suggestion would be to maybe save a little there by shopping the killer e-juice weekend sales or Mt Baker type vendors until you've gotten the hardware squared away.

Boyfriend does not understand(?) ...........or prefers you do as he wants?
Not in Budget? Where did the Cig money fit in the budget?

Don't Rationalize and possibly fail again.

You are very unclear on your actual equipment.
    1) Ego 650? Do you mean Ego style or Actual Ego Battery? Fixed voltage, unregulated or Variable Voltage?
    2) You keep saying BDC? BDC what? Kanger/Aspire - Clone of either? What coil resistances?
    3) E-liquid - What Flavor, Pg/Vg Blend, strength?

The lowly Ego 650 and a few cheap top coil clearomizers have saved Many from their impending Fate from smoking.

Many here can recommend other equipment options - everyone has their preference. Some here can actually offer tips/tweaks/corrections or modifications that may help you to enjoy the equipment you already have. The more we understand the more we can help.

Over 2 years since I stopped my 45+yr smoking suicide habit by switching. I have turned vaping into a hobby, but to this day, I still carry and use an Ego (style) 450mah with either a short carto or a small BCC.(Evod/T3-mini/etc.)

Don't give in. Don't give up. In the end the most important thing in your life is YOU! :)

Note: 12mg is a good working point. Consider your cough could be Ratio(pg/vg), Flavoring or even your body purging the old gunk. Not necessarily the Nic level.

    1) it's an ego type, which I payed entirely too much for no thrills just a fire button
    2) it's a cheap thing that I got from a local shop, branded ecto not sure of resistance it's not labeled
    3) vaping tobacco flavor at 12mg of the same brand as my coils an it doesn't state the vg/pg ratios.
*sigh* already need to charge the battery. After only a few hrs of use...
