Ok well, I have only been vaping for a little over a month. I purchased the blu cig for my first kit ever and is what I'm currently using right now. I am having problems with battery life "as I am vaping quite a bit" and it seems I have to charge my batteries every 20 minutes or so. I DON"T LIKE THIS ANYMORE! lol it's getting really frustrating having to recharge every 5 seconds. and the blu carts never last that long, I smoke 16 mg carts which is the high nic level in the blu carts, so I bought some 18 mg e liquid from Johnson Creek to refill my cartomizers. Which is making them a little better when I refill them myself, but still not "the best". The battery life still sucks though. But I have been doing some research. "a little better than I did the first time around obviously" but I am having a tough time deciding between the Joye 510, joye 510-t, or the DSE 801 penstyle. those models seem good to me. Not really looking for the bigger ones like the Ego, or Ego-t, just something that will last longer than this stupid blu I have. I kinda like the design of the Tank system myself, seems easier and less hassle, I'm not sure if the DSE 801 pen makes a tank system or not, but really looking for some advice. I don't have any experience with vaping except my blu cig and am not a happy camper at the moment, so please someone help a girl out! lol. I will be dripping my own juice into my models, so not looking for any prefilled cartomizers or cartridges. Thanks a lot for reading!

Hello and welcome to the form. Unfortunately, the smaller the battery, the more often you will have to charge. That is just the nature of the business. The 808 models like the Smokeless Image Volt do offer batteries that are a bit longer (78mm), but not fatter which will give you about 2-3hrs per charge.

Also if you are near a computer frequently, you might want to consider a passthru 510 battery and just use your regular batteries for when you are out and about.

well the blu batteries are really small and use a 306 cartomizer. I'm just wanting something a tad big bigger. I only get 30 minutes out of a charge on these batteries, If I could get something that has an hour to a few hours that would be a huge improvement. Yeah I was looking at the passthru's and they make them for the penstyle as well as the joye 510, so I am stuck between the 2 of them. I don't know which is better. I will look at the one you recommended as well.

The time between charging is measured in mAh. A Joye 510 standard battery is about 180 mAh which is only slightly above the Blu you have now. (They lasted me between 20-30 minutes before needing a recharge.)

Since the energy density is approximately the same for all the batteries used for PV's, unless you can get over the idea of going thicker for the battery, you will continue to have the same issues with constant recharging. Just the physics of the thing. You can't pull a 42' semi trailer with a Pinto very well no matter how well the Pinto fits in the garage.

Is your battery dying every 20 minutes, or are you getting less vapor after 20 minutes?

I believe the Blu is a KR808D battery. The most universal threadings are KR808D and 510. As far as big batteries, the eGo (and clones) use the 510 threading. The Echo and Smokeless Image Volt MaXx use the KR808 threading.

If you are looking at buying another KR808, I suggest looking at the ECF vendors like Smokeless Image or Vapor4Life.

I don't know anything about ecigs. I was just wanting something that would last longer than my blu battery. I am a heavy vapor so I'm guessing a bigger battery is the best way to go for myself then. So an Ego-t would be my best option then? I am on a fixed income and don't have a lot of money to waste on testing ecigs. So what I spend my money on is something I am stuck with for awhile. I can't buy a new ecig for another couple months or so, I'm saving up right now, I'm just trying to figure out what is going to be the best one for me to purchase right now before I save up all the money. I saved up for 3 months to get my blu kit, and I am just really upset that I did all that saving for a crappy product. I want to get my money's worth this time.

I have seen some 510s in longer lengths as well, but I'm not sure who carries them. I would either stick with the 510 set up or go with an 808. The penstyles aren't used as much anymore so you have far fewer options for replacements and accessories, etc. The 510s are the most versitile if you wanted to upgrade later, but in my opinion, the 808's like the Volt perform much better in the slim ecig arena.

I'm keeping my options open, It doesn't really bother me if it's a slim model or a bigger model, I just want something that is going to be worth the money I spend, and last me a good while before I have to recharge again. I mean I am at home a lot and at my computer alot as well. I work from home, and rarely ever go out unless I'm going grocery shopping or too the DR's or whatever, so I don't really need a PCC or anything like that really. just something good and sturdy with good battery life.

Being a new vaper, at least you didn't get White Clouded. :)

If you are a heavy vaper, but still want the feel of a cigarette-like model, I would go either 510 (Not Blu), or KR808. I don't know as much about where to get 510s because I use KR808 threaded devices.

I recommend here for KR808s: Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Electronic Cigarettes | Wholesale Electronic Cigarettes | E-Cigarette | Best Electronic Cigarette | Electronic Cigarette

They also have big batteries that run slightly higher than eGos, but they do come with the charger and are a passthrough (which means you can vape while it's charging).

For 510 big batts, you're looking at an eGo or eGo type (like a Riva). I would suggest looking at this forum section: eGo Type Models

The big batts are going to give you hours of vaping on one charge.

yeah I really like the Tank design. The whole non filler is nice. just drip it in there and it releases the juice onto the atomizer as you vape. I noticed that filler tends to make it taste burnt a lot. I don't know though, never used a tank either so I don't know how that tastes. I just like the idea of it. I really am dumb at this..lol I don't know ANYTHING!

I def wouldnt get an eGo-T. If you want an eGo, just get a regualr one and use cartos. The eGo-T tanks can be very finicky and leak alot, and even when they do work, they dull flavor and TH.

Check out the E-power and kGo instead. They are both 3.7V PVs, while the eGo is only 3.3-3.4V. The 3.7V PVs provide alittle more oomph and more importantly handle the lower resistance cartos better.
I have an E-power and love it. Since you said your on a fixed income, I def recommend the E-Power then.
The E-Power uses non-proprietary batteries, which are removable. E-Power batteries cost $4-5, compared to eGo/kGo/riva batteries that cost $14-20, and the E-Power batteries last longer before they need to be replaced. The batteries are 1050mah so they last a long time and I get on avg a day to a day and a half on one battery. Also everything is replaceable on he E-Power so its cheaper to maintain. With proprietary battery PVs, like the eGo, kGo, and Riva, the tube, battery, and switch is all one unit. So if you need to replace a battery, or a switch fails, you have no choice but to replace the entire unit everytime. With the E-Power, everything is seperate and can be bought individually. If you need to replace a battery, you can buy just the battery for about $5. If a switch fails, you can buy just the switch for about $10 and continue to use your existing tube and battery.
I think youd def really like the E-Power, and one of the main reasons I bought the E-Power is bc the parts are replaceable and the batteries are very cheap, as Im on a budget as well.

Goodluck with everything!

The key to regular cartos is to not vape on them until they're dry. It's generally best to top them off every so often, so they stay moist. Using Blu's tiny cartos, I can see why this would be a huge annoyance.

wow, I didn't know ecigs took regular batteries..lol so you don't recharge those in a wall outlet or usb charger? just replace the batteries when they die like my 4 year old son's toys? lol My son is autistic and still in diapers so that's why I don't have a lot of money to spend on new units. so whatever I can get for very little cash helps a lot.
