How long do I have to steep HHV juices in general? I've tried Mom&Pops, Highbrow, Halo and some others so far... HHV and AiV have the longest delay in shipping...If those are not that good enough...I will be deeply disappointed.

You must remove the caps and drippers for a day or two to remove the extracting alcohols. then you can recap and we suggest lewtting them sit for another week (at least). Shake often kinhvanhoa. It's worth the wait and wehn you find juices you like (and you will) then you can plan your orders accordingly so you will never have to wait for a juice to steep. Good luck and let us know how it goes for you. Hi Durham neighbor.

They can't post in here period, or they can post in here provided they follow the same rules they have to follow in the other forum?

They can't post in here.. Period! Adam is aware of this..

Since this thread directly concerns his business, it automatically falls into the self-promotion category.

I know it's not optional or they would have asked us. I'm just thinking of the guy who just signed up as an ECF member and he's simply looking for juice. That's how we all ended up here. Some come, so go, some stick around. It's been an honor to help these people like I have been helped. And we've made a lot of friends along the way. That's all I'm thinking of. And I certainly don't want any kind of "elite" status. I just don't think that way. I like people who bring lunch pails to work.

That doesn't have to stop, we just can't have a big thread devoted to HHV anymore. Neither can anyone else.

YOU guys will always be here.. and y'all can redirect new folks into the Social Group. This group has been created for the regulars that hang out here.

There will always be new threads created everywhere about HHV stuff. Folks curious about certain juices, or folks with reviews on them. Those threads will remain where they are. If in your interactions in those threads, y'all come across somebody that y'all think would do well in here.. bring them in.

One of the main advantages is this "Forums for Social Groups: these are separate communities within ECF. Please note that these communities are not 'owned' by ECF, they are 'owned' by their own groups. Moderators in here are not ECF Mods, and ECF does not moderate these groups (unless asked)."

What does that mean for you?: It is a place where you won't get slammed for popularizing HHV's juices, and a place that one or more of you can delete posts that are counter productive to your "vibe".

Speaking of which.. I need some nominations for Moderators of this Social Group. Somebody that knows and will uphold ECF rules in this joint as well as be a fair and impartial administrator in here. There can be more than one!

I nominate the General first and foremost, of course, and either Robin and/or Hula and/or GT and/or Eddard. Hmm who else is in here...

Really I would nominate all of you vets, you're all so great and I'm quite new here, but I think Bronze and Robin or Hula would be nice to have representation from both sexes.

Edit: Forgot Scarf-ace is female as well. She'd be great and since she lives on the other side of the planet maybe would be able to moderate in our "off hours!"

I have never moderated anyone on this thread since the beginning and challenge anyone to sift through the 31,000 posts to see where I have. It's because it is not my thread. It has never been my thread. It's always been OUR thread. I am still absorbing all this just as you are. All I want to say is no matter what happens, no one, and I mean NO ONE is ever going to be better than anyone else or I'm outta here.

When you first got on ECF, did you go to the social group forum to look for juice? For all intents and purposes, you have to be invited.

Bronze, my friend. We as a group have done a lot for HHV's popularity just because we like the juice so much and liked to talk about it. However, perhaps it's time they take the reigns in popularizing their juice and their company. Perhaps they will need to be more proactive in specials and incentives and discounts. Heck, maybe they need to put fancy boxes and shredded paper and little charmlets to hang on their bottles. (I kid, I kid) Maybe they will start to give a sample along with an order. Most vendors do, even the very busy and popular ones have some sort of free samples and/or repeat customer discounts and first time buyer discounts. They do need to establish their own good will and fun personality for their company. Heck, I sure could have benefited by a discount or a free bottle of juice, as could a lot of the other HHV customers. Heather and Adam are good people and make good juice. I want them to prosper even without our ever present thread.

It's not like we are abandoning HHV. We still buy their juice. We still love their juice. When people have questions or are looking for good juices of a certain type that fits HHV, we'll be there in the forum answering their questions and suggesting HHV or whatever other vendor we know would be a good fit for them.

I'm not overly worried about visibility, myself. I'm a "New Posts" kind of guy, and if there's one thing I can count on here, it's that this thread will always show up on that front page... or maybe the second, because sometimes Scarf slacks off a little on the night shift.

How many other people do that, I have no idea, but I suspect it's quite a few.

Example of Moderation: Remember y'all had somebody come in here a few days ago and get everyone all fired up?! A Social Group moderator could have deleted that post, kicked that person out and everybody could have continued talking about Dragons Fire being number one. ;)

You are not Moderating or being Superior to or over one another. Leave that to the big ugly (subjective term) ECF mods! A Social Group moderator will just help to keep this house under order.

Does anyone think we should right away start a thread in our new forum home for Questions about HHV juices for new people and leave this thread for the social whatever we want to chit chat thread? This big thread with all our other chitchat might be intimidating to new people with questions about HHV flavors and such.

It hasn't yet Buggsy. We see new people here all the time. We've topped 30 viewers on a number of occasions. I think some people just don't like to talk but they like to read our posts. Maybe we can make a post now and again making those "readers" feel comfortable hopping on the thread. Thoughts?

So what you're saying is this thread is still subject to standard ECF moderation but we also have the ability to moderate ourselves?

Yes indeed... well, your moderators will have the right to do so.
