I am home after surgery spend most of the day sleeping but the forum has been my entertainment. Yesterday went back and read first 50 or so pages of this thread. It was like a book I couldn't put down until Bronze tried his first HHV samplesI tried my heavenly tobacco yesterday another high quality juice..I probably won't reorder as its not much different than other juice I already have. I've saved half of my shadow fax for another day as I really like it.
I am surely a lover of the Strat. And that one is pretty sexy. My 17 year old son plays a Strat (and a Tele, and a banjo, etc, etc.). He blows me outta the water. I just love the sound of a Tele over any other guitar out there.
I was thinkin' today that there might be another Tele in my future. There's a lot of
country music in this area, and though it's not my favorite music, a Tele would come
in handy for some of the gigs.
Exactly Robin. No words. Coming around the bend and getting my first glimpse of that canyon was a feeling I will never forget. Just incredible! That is an absolute must-see for everyone. One of the most humbling experiences in my life.
And with a few of you ladies posting your pictures of late, I think it should be mandatory that all ladies do the same. Never knew we had so many foxes on this thread. I know, "fox" dates me. But we're close to the same age so you know what I mean.
Yes, it's got a country feel for sure, but jazz sounds amazing on one as well.
I'll never forget the first time I saw the GC. I actually didn't think I wanted to make the trip that day. I thought, "no big deal, I've seen plenty of pictures, yeah it's pretty, but....." Well, I'm here to tell you IT IS A BIG DEAL! You just cannot explain it and there are no pictures or videos that do it justice.
Strat, you just made me realize that I passed my 6 month anniversary of no smokes, and didn't even realize it. Yay!!
Love your Hendrix quote MostlySunny. BTW, I share a birthday with Jimmy Hendrix, separated by 25 years. My guitar strap is a copy of one of Jimmy's straps, made by a craftsman in the UK. A bit more trivia is that David Gilmour's wife purchased the original strap and gave it to him for his 60th birthday (I think). I actually have two of those straps for each Black Strat.![]()
And Buggs.. It's SO close! I want to spend the night at the lodge over the holidays. I'm also in love with Sedona. I'm even closer to that, I go often.
Strat, you just made me realize that I passed my 6 month anniversary of no smokes, and didn't even realize it. Yay!!

Sedona is absolutely beautiful. That would be a great place to live someday.
Gotta be prepared to suit up in the winter, though.

I have come here, read back and now must go to bed.
Just had to change my signature for awhile, finally I have gone 2 whole days with no cigs. And I thank HHV and all of you for that![]()

When my wife's grandfather died, they found $30,000 buried in mason jars in his yard. True story.
A thought about the TempestTek V-Core Splitfire... besides the fact that it is an absolutely amazing tank.
***Re wicking/ rebuilding***
These heads are basically the same as a Nova head and rebuild the same way. The problem is, it is nearly impossible to get a wick through those holes without the aglet (the shoe lace end) attached.
PROBLEM SOLVED
Go to your local hardware store (I used True Value) and ask for 18-22 AWG shrink tube. True Value Hardware sells a small package for under $3.
For those of you who are not familiar with shrink tube, it is a tube that shrinks a minimum of 50% when exposed to heat delivered from a propane torch or a heat gun. A lighter might work as well, however I have never tried this.
I have bought 20 new heads over the past month at a cost of $60 plus shipping. With 2mm silica, 32 AWG Kanthal and this shrink tube, my cost is under 25¢ per head.
This has been a public service announcement brought to you today by the House of Burly.
