It is funny. My friend came up with the expression. He was asking me about why he only can find pictures of male lions with dead Hyenas, and so I explained to him the sexual dimorphism of lions is such that while females certainly can kill Hyenas, the extra size, mane (which is for protection as well as intimidation), and general warlike attitude makes the males much better killers of Hyenas. Females just generally attempt to not engage the Hyena.
In fact, the Pride Male will kill every Hyena they can. Generally, leaving it there on the spot they finished it off. And he said, "To send a clear message, I killed this one just because I hate it."
