Hey guys...been busy again this week... you know there just aren't enough hours in the day this time of year:laugh: Everything is great just chasing my tail. Our little Nellie is finally becoming a happy little baby...colic isn't fun but it is just a stage. I'm just thrilled we live close enough to give her mom and dad some support. I'm going to take off work tomorrow morning to hang with Nellie as her mom has a doctor appointment. I seriously don't remember how I ever let myself run out of Huntsman...use it every day now that I have it again.

Diesel broke one of his K9s off in his leash today while my gf was taking him for a walk. She came running in the house freaking out. The broken part of the tooth was still lodged in the leash.

I feel so bad for him, he's acting like it doesn't hurt but I know it does. You can see the nerve and for the last hour or so it was bleeding pretty good.

The bleeding seemed to stop and I've been giving him ice cubes. Of course my vet was closed so I called the local animal hospital. They said that its pretty common and to just monitor him tonight and take him to my vet tomorrow to see if the rest of the tooth needs to be extracted

It's crazy to see how he looks to me for direction when he's hurt. He won't leave my side right now. Poor little puppy :(

Oh Slim I bet poor Diesel is confused...but I'm going to guess he won't chew on his leash anymore. You should be good if the bleeding has stopped.

Yeah he's definitely confused :( I hate that there's nothing I can do for him.

Actually as I type this he's snoring away next to my recliner so I guess I don't need to feel so bad lol

Slim, ice might not be the best.. That part of the tooth that's left is probably pretty sensitive to cold/heat. :2c:

That's what I thought too but the vet said that if it was too painful he would just leave them alone. But if he was able to eat them that it would numb it up. They also said that since it was his puppy tooth that the nerve would pull itself back up into the tooth. I've never heard anything like that before but what do I know lol

Puppies are pretty tough...if he's sleeping he will be fine. They are just like little kids though and you worry about them when they are hurt.

I couldn't imagine having a kid, it tears (as in rips not cries lol) to see him hurting. I have huge respect for all of you that do.

Speaking of crying my gf was blaming herself for it happening and has been crying all night :( she finally just fell asleep too. Now I feel bad for both of them lol

Go with the vet info for sure! I just know human teeth! I agree with IG, if he's sleeping, he's probably fine. And tell your GF to stop beating herself up. It's just a puppy tooth and there will be another one to replace it before long.

My son fractured his 2 front (permanent) teeth a couple years ago. I cried way longer than he did!

Slim I wondered about how your GF felt...they are puppies and do silly things...it just happens. Hopefully she will understand that..there isn't anything she could have done.

I tried telling her that but she just wasn't having it, she's afraid he's going to hate her for it lol him looking to me for help I think made her feel worse. I'm sure she'll be better tomorrow. Plus she only has a half day of work so she'll get to spend most of the day with him.

Thanks for all your help ladies :D I love my Army!

Aww I'm sorry about Diesel. My coworker's dog is also named Diesel...I found that out today. :) My son fell at school once and it loosened his two front baby teeth and the dentist ended up pulling them. My latest kid thing?...discussion about sex and everything else that goes with it. Been talking to him about it for years as I believe it should be an ongoing lesson but realized he needed another one. I ordered him three books today to read about sex and puberty and girls and boys and hygiene and just about everything. When we were headed home from eating at Outback with Mom this evening I started discussing some things like condoms with him. He said, "Mom I don't want to talk about it!" I said, "Me either...that's why I bought the books!!" :D

It's a tough job but somebody's got to do it...so yeah, kids are something else for sure. Although, I'm always very close to my pets as well. I feel ya about worrying about him. I haven't cried as much in my life as I have about losing my cat.

That always makes for an akward conversation lol

I still remember getting that talk from my Dad. My mom never talked about it at all with me or my 2 younger bros, although there were plenty of akward moments when she would just walk in my room when I had female company in my bedroom

There was one very akward moment when I temporarily moved home after leaving my ex when i was 25. My door handle didn't latch shut and her little dog came into my room in the middle of the night. I knew my mom wouldn't be far behind her so we stopped what we were doing to get the dog out and as soon as I was putting the dog out into the hallway my mom appears and got a full frontal of me and my lady friend lol to this day not one word has been spoken about it haha

RJ, I feel for ya. I don't have to go there with my boys, as DH makes it a regular subject. He teaches at High school level so he sees every day what goes on with young to older teens.

Slim, I definitely want an open door policy at our house! But, I got caught once too. Boyfriends mom knocked on the door and waited there!! I was way younger than I want to admit!

Everyone's always talking about their pets and I've never shared. This is my golden retriever Casey and Sadie the yorkie. We also have a puggle, 2 hamsters, a guinea pig, 2 bearded dragons, 2 budgies, a jenday conure and a sulfur crested cockatoo. Lol. Our own personal zoo.
