Nice call Slim!

jf,

73 (Frank) started up on the BIG THREAD right around the time we lost another army member (Z-Ghost)...about Feb. 9. Frank had an incredible sense of humor. Was one of the funniest guys you could know. It came natural to him. He was also a very kind fella always willing to help us with our car problems (he was an inspector and beyond the capability of your average mechanic). His genuine ability to make people laugh really endeared many folks on this thread. He discovered he was sick (liver disease) perhaps a couple months ago and it was a downhill slide since. He was extremely brave and inspirational to all of us.

Just so you knew Frank and don't feel left out. The Army is sad today so have some patience. Many still haven't received the news.

EDIT: jf, we are also blessed to have another funny fella in the Army...as funny as it can get. He goes by Bivie. He's split many a side on this thread too. Sadly, our good friend, Bivie has not poked in much lately and we miss his daily humor. Guys like 73 and Bivie have a very rare talent. They are genuinely hilarious and can turn your day around just by reading a few lines from them. They don't think they can, but they do and anyone in the Army will tell you that.

Just got home, and read we lost Frank. Please forgive me but it was a running joke of ours;

Ah noz yew beez aht pees nah, ol fren. Eabun ges gat bettur, an maybu yeh ken luuk up Dwayne ahn Steevie Ray ahn strhm a feu kohds.

A True Southern Gentleman, in every way. We lost a good one today. May the Lord be with those he left behind. :nun:

Bronze I hope you didn't take my comment the wrong way. What Slim did was awesome and appropriate in my eyes, and it'll be there for years. Someone in the future will read that and ponder the meaning. Using the internet or it's successor they might just find out about the Forum and the Army, and learn the meaning of the words inscribed on that old piece of steel. I like to think somewhere somehow We are remembered by those that come after Us.

He didn't take it the wrong way bro. Just sharing with you how important 73 was to us and this thread :)

Thanks for the kind words too

The building I wrote that in is the new University of Michigan GG Brown Mechanical Engineering Research Facility. In the next few years it will be making national news. They won't tell us what it is they will be working on in there but said it will make national headlines.

Franks Army tag is sitting right at the very top :)

Oh me...just finished cutting the back yard. At 90 degrees and 65% humidity at 6 pm with a sunburn...I can't hack it. Freaking stifling and I'm sweating too much. I didn't even get to the front or sides. My yard is not conducive for a riding mower because of the steep front...but my eye is on self-propelled for the back yard for dang sure.

Back to work tomorrow and I sure don't want to go. 7.5 years to retirement can't happen fast enough for me! I'm tired of working.

Good evening...long day for many reasons. Well got dad to the radiologist today and the plan has changed from one treatment to ten treatments. Hopefully we can start Wednesday and will go daily (except weekends). Things were much easier getting there with the (not so) portable oxygen then I thought they would be and we go for treatment 10 miles away...so once we get on track it should only be 1/2 - 1 hour daily..we can do that. Dad didn't even complain about my driving from the back seat so I must have done something right...

Hi Gang. I figgered this incident would get me back to the thread one day soon. I .. well, umm ..
don't know what to say. I'll say it like I said to Bronze about Frank: People like to say those who
pass are in a better place. With Frank, we can know it's true because of his testimony. When
many people would have been mad at God, Frank was giving him glory. RIP good buddy. Thanks
for the laughs.
