I did just copy it into the Memorial thread; thanks for linking me to it, and thank you, Bronze, for creating it. I know that I've already brought this ^ forward once before quite recently, but it's a bit of the sort of thing I'm talking about. And, at this very moment, my uncle is excitedly working on the plans to try to replicate Frank's gift to his sons. I know that it's painful to read one of his old posts today, but it's just in the spirit of celebrating his life and his many accomplishments.

I remember watching that video, that is amazing! Thanks for bringing that forward - if you hadn't, I don't think I could have found it. You ROCK sista!! :headbang:

Sheesh what a palaver. Just buy the old but brilliant Kanger T2's with ready made replacement coils. :p

Glad I could help. There's one more thing you could try if you're still getting a burnt taste while vaping in the ProTank. I thought about it today, because I was having the same problem after rebuilding the atty. I'd take the first puff or two and it was fine. If I kept going, it would get progressively worse - I figured I had too much wick stuffed in that slot and it was choking off the supply of juice. I took the base off and set the tank up where it wouldn't spill. Then spun the atty off and opened it up and took a few strands of flavor wicks off the coil. Closed it back up and it's working fine!!!

Here's a tutorial good for taking apart and rebuilding the atty: Vapor Lady Lounge Rebuild a Protank Atomizer, eVod Atomizer A New Way - YouTube

I think this is a good tutorial, the only thing I would add would be to do a dry burn of the wick before you put the stem back on over the coil. When dry burning you want to start at a low voltage and pulse the power button on and off. What you're looking for is the coil to turn red from the center out in a nice even glow. If one end or spot is redder than the other area, you have a hot spot - take a pin poke at the wires moving them round a little bit - making sure they are evenly spaced and not touching each other or the sides of the atty casing. You'll need to gradually increase the voltage till you can see the wire glow. When you have the coil glowing nicely, you can add a drop or two of juice on and hit the power button again to see how it reacts with a load of juice on it. Put the stem back on, fill the tank and you should be good to go!

Thanks PicC for letting us know. Not the easiest news to announce at any time. What a guy Stan was. I and all of us will miss him, but his faith was so inspirational and his humor and the way he glared down his illness in such a courageous and yet gentle manner. I know he and Z will always be here with us (and they better be getting that vape lounge sorted out up there too). If you feel my latest posts a bit off, it's not intentional. Just my way of honoring Stanley with the humor that he loved so much. Awww bugger, now I'm having RJ's eye leak problem.

Being I have exactly 25 days left of work on this day it is a fantastic Monday. I actually might pull a 12 hours shift today which for me lately is exciting.

Y'all should head over to the Prescott facebook page. Frank Passed last night. I'm not good with words but I figured I'd let y'all know.

I swear whenever I see that picture, I'll burst into tears dang it. But I loved where he came from "Carefreesville" :) What a guy. And God bless his family who are hurting more than all of us and knew him much better and much longer. I send my prayers should any of them read these posts.
Thanks for the update, MP!

jf,

73 (Frank) started up on the BIG THREAD right around the time we lost another army member (Z-Ghost)...about Feb. 9. Frank had an incredible sense of humor. Was one of the funniest guys you could know. It came natural to him. He was also a very kind fella always willing to help us with our car problems (he was an inspector and beyond the capability of your average mechanic). His genuine ability to make people laugh really endeared many folks on this thread. He discovered he was sick (liver disease) perhaps a couple months ago and it was a downhill slide since. He was extremely brave and inspirational to all of us.

Just so you knew Frank and don't feel left out. The Army is sad today so have some patience. Many still haven't received the news.

EDIT: jf, we are also blessed to have another funny fella in the Army...as funny as it can get. He goes by Bivie. He's split many a side on this thread too. Sadly, our good friend, Bivie has not poked in much lately and we miss his daily humor. Guys like 73 and Bivie have a very rare talent. They are genuinely hilarious and can turn your day around just by reading a few lines from them. They don't think they can, but they do and anyone in the Army will tell you that.

Bronze, don't forget Hula and RJ are also pretty good at crackin' your ribs. :toast:

Update: Hey, that lined up nicely with your post, Hula. LOL

Bronze I hope you didn't take my comment the wrong way. What Slim did was awesome and appropriate in my eyes, and it'll be there for years. Someone in the future will read that and ponder the meaning. Using the internet or it's successor they might just find out about the Forum and the Army, and learn the meaning of the words inscribed on that old piece of steel. I like to think somewhere somehow We are remembered by those that come after Us.

jfrich:

Agree and did not take your comment the wrong way at all. I see the newer folks on the thread and don't want them to feel lost in our sadness. So telling you about Frank seemed appropriate. :)

Good evening...long day for many reasons. Well got dad to the radiologist today and the plan has changed from one treatment to ten treatments. Hopefully we can start Wednesday and will go daily (except weekends). Things were much easier getting there with the (not so) portable oxygen then I thought they would be and we go for treatment 10 miles away...so once we get on track it should only be 1/2 - 1 hour daily..we can do that. Dad didn't even complain about my driving from the back seat so I must have done something right...

Why the increase in treatments IA?

Good evening everyone... Bronze the increase in treatment came once the radiologist had a chance to take a closer look at the scans. Dad has a pretty good sized tumor on his spine and he feels it will take more treatment to attack it and reduce the pain. It's been so crazy that I didn't realize until tonight that tomorrow is my Dad's birthday and we have the oncology appointment...hopefully it will bring us some luck.
