Actually, I enjoyed the topics as I played a (here I go again blowing my horn) big role in raising our daughter - true it was our first, but I had experience with babies from helping mom with my sister (she's around 14 hears younger than I). Mom had 4 built-in baby sitters. Also, by the time we moved to Thailand Mrs. Chak was pretty confident of my sitter skills, but I was a work at home daddy for most of those formative years. (Had to be, Mrs. Chak suffered her stroke only a year and a half after the move here in Dec of '87; Tip was 1 that year and going to be 3 when the hammer* fell.)
Talk about bonding, guess who she came to when her periods started? "Bleeding? 8-o Where?" "Oh, oh, oh there." " Have you talked to Mom, yet?" "Don't fret, it's something all girls go through. It'll be ok, we need to talk about this together." *smooch*
*Shortly after her father died her BP rose to 220/180 ... blocking an artery.
