Hey Army! Say, there is a lot of confusion about the move to the new forum last night. It's safe to say everyone is somewhat confused and we're all trying to figure it out. We don't know at this point what we are allowed to do with regard to new threads, stickies, moderating, how to attract new members, etc...

Dusty has temporarily assigned three people as moderators...GT, Robin, and me. That said, we don't currently have all the necessary tools to be moderators. Dusty is still working on it. I know I speak for GT and Robin...just because we are moderators doesn't mean crap! You wont find any of us being anyone different than the people you already know and we demand that you treat us just the same. There is no hierarchy on this thread. There never has been and that's the way it is going to stay. I speak for myself now...I wont be here if there is even a hint of elitism that leaks into this thread.

Forgive me for the time being if it appears I am taking the reins on some of these issues. We need to be organized and be sure we understand what we are doing and how we want to do it. This is OUR forum and we can do what we want to a large degree. But we want to do it right. I promise I will not be Commander in Chief of this thread (I don't want it). But I will help get this thing going to make sure we are organized so we can enjoy this thread as much as possible. If any of you want to fire me now, go for it. You wont get any resistance from me.

Oh, I think Scarfy has also been made a moderator. Sorry. I know she doesn't want to be treated any differently either.

Once we understand our roles, we will explain it to you. I can tell you this much, our roles wont be to censor anyone unless they are a very obvious threat to the integrity of the thread.

Great attitude, Bronze!! I can tell you this much from what I have learned in my short time as a ECF moderator. Nothing kills a good thread faster than high-handedness and overbearing attitudes. You guys work well as a team and play well even better.

There are a few threads on ECF that have prospered over time due to people such as yourselves. Keep that positive outlook and look out for each other while keeping each other in check at the same time.

Bronze, as the Op of this thread, you have a certain responsibility to it and you have done an amazing job in keeping it going thus far. Well, now you're just going to have to take that a bit further and watch over more threads with a chosen one or two more folks.

The ECF moderators, including myself are here to help and answer any questions that you may have along the way..

To all those just joining in, relax, have fun and enjoy your new sub-forum!!

Thanks Dusty. I owe you a public expression of gratitude for your efforts to preserve this thread. It seems any time there is a change, it is rarely for the better. That's here nor there. This thread was destined for the scrap heap like many of the others and you bailed us out. Thank you.

So time to move ahead. We'll patiently wait for you to get us set up as mods. Meanwhile, I am sure the Army will get this figured out with regard to how we want to proceed. I'm certain we will need your help going forward. And please remember Dusty, while you are an ECF mod, you are foremost just one of the "guys/gals" on the thread. Just like the rest of us.

My advice?
Just organize a few threads for the most common questions and support areas where newbs and oldies alike have questions.
Maybe even show how much we appreciate the admins/mods giving us this place and start a new chat thread and close this one.
See this is why I'm not a mod. I have too many ideas and I'm not the type of person to handle having any sort of power. Kind of like our do it all president with his psychotic mandates.
