Not to crash y'alls fashion show, but I thought I'd share my credit card story from today since this topic comes up frequently. I bought a laptop from TigerDirect today. I couldn't get their website to take my credit card number. Not after about 4 or 5 tries. I called customer service, same thing. Called my credit card company and found they put a hold on my card because the TD transaction was "unusual". So they lifted the hold so I could make the transaction. No problem. Then an hour later I get TD sending me an email saying they are holding up the shipment until I contact them for more verification. After telling them my address, my mother's maiden name, the street I grew up on, my middle name, and what town I lived in in 1982 they released the order. Trust me, I struggled answering some of those questions. But now another day has gone by and instead of getting my laptop on Thursday, it will now be Friday. I appreciate the security, but I would think once is enough.
Yeah... I like you appreciate the security but at Vapebash I got a call from hubby that my CC had called the shop to let us know my card was froze until I contacted them. I actually understood that more as I was traveling and usually remember to call them but hadn't that time. One thing I learned from our end at the shop is if I enter the address/zip code info when taking the cc info over the phone the rates are better as it reduces fraud.
