Hula isn't it funny...we will celebrate 33 years in September. I'm not going to lie and say it's been all roses, but we are very good friends and get through the rough spots together. We have been very blessed with a wonderful family and good friends. Our honeymoon was an overnight in a nice Hotel in a town close to us watching the replay of the Iowa vs Iowa State football game:laugh:

Did I share with you guys I'm getting a new vehicle this week? I'm so excited... we are going tomorrow night to test drive again, not sure if we'll finalize then or this weekend. I love my Tahoe but it's been rode hard and put away wet for years...and I can't believe the trade in they are giving us for it. I'm looking at the Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia..they are basically identical so will just see which one I want.

We bought the Acadia and have had it for a couple of years, IG. My wife LOVED the Traverse, until she drove it followed by the Acadia. I really like the third-row side windows on the Acadia better, as they are not the itty-bitty triangles that the Traverse has (or at least had when we were looking 2 years ago). Between those windows, and something about the way the Acadia "felt" made the decision for us, and she loves the Acadia now as much as she did when we bought it. Congratulations on whichever one you end up with!!

If I may, I'd like to share a story with MrPicC;
I told my wife I'd marry her before the State would, and six and a half years later I kept that promise.
It was brutally hot that summer. I was layin' on the bed in my underwear, scratchin' myself, watching the Braves Game. She enters the bedroom with clean laundry to hang in the closet when I asked,
"hey, ya wanna get married ?"
"We've already discussed this" she replied.
"Yea, but do ya wanna get married ?"
"Are you asking?"
"Yea, I'm askin" I replied.
"then, Yes." she answered
"Then I'd be honored to have you wear my Mom's Rings." I replied as I reached behind the pillow to pull out the Engagement Ring and Wedding band. She smiled, come over and kissed me and took the box. "I'll take these uptown and have them fitted." she said
"OK, now watch out, I'm watchin' the Braves Game here" I responded.
28 years and we're still together. God bless her.

Have a Safe and Blessed Day everyone, and remember to tell the one you love that you love them :)

Good morning, see you guys later.

Another day in paradise, and a court appearance for my oldest cub, which I am forced to attend.

Good luck to your oldest in court today!

Good Morning Army! I am struggling this morning, just cant wake up plus I feel like i have the wait of the world on my shoulders and I cant stop thinking about things that I shouldn't be worried about, plus there are things I should be worried about, and all that is running through my head right this minute...Uggg

Take a break, have a vape. Everything's gonna be fine.

Remember the important things. The rest is noise.

Thanks Guys! Just got to work and I think I'm gonna plug in my head phones and get burried in some work to stop my mind from rambling on about everything.

Dayum! Two eGo Twists and a Spinner died on me this morning!!! Good thing I brought the other 2 Twists and my Vmod (with extra bat.) Whew! Yup, I was a boy scout, so I'm usually prepared. ;)

EDIT: My iPhone was also dead this AM.....

I hope by "died" you were just meaning that the batteriest needed charging, cause if not that would really suck :(

I know that it's just dazzling, but...:p
Your girl is gonna be on cloud nine with whatever proposal you decide to go with, MrPicC...how exciting!!
Fun catch-up reading about the early days for some of you and your soulmates!
Enjoy the heck out of that new Fender, 73! What an excellent score!
Wow, Chak, glad you caught up on some rest. My six period days used to knock me out. That class I mentioned starts up today, then three tutoring sessions...in other words, a fraction of a fraction of all your typical days, but it's a start.
Headphone therapy sounds like a fabulous idea to me, Frantic

.

Huntsman seems to be pulling away from the pack.

Great sentence, fraghole:closedeyes:.... Enjoy!
And enjoy that new vehicle, Iowa Gal!
A dream vacation to each of you who's taking one:closedeyes:!

Humongous hazy Hump Day vapes to all :vapor:!

Evening Army, still haven't caught up from post # 49130, but wanted to say howdy to all first.

Slim, like I said earlier, have fun with Diesel up there - I'm sure you'll both lone it, just keep him on a tight leash, ya hear? Wouldn't want anything to happen to him.

In other news, HA! I knew it!!! RichMan Vapors got here first. (^_^) And since I just got home, I haven't even opened the package yet. Would you like to see the unveiling?

Good morning, Army, from warm humid Mexico! :)

It was a treat catching up on the last few days of posts.

* Becky's foot! :( Hope you're doing better at hopping around sweety, and can return to your bouncy days by the time I get back..

* Robin's Ipad: I'm going to have to take "under" on the 60 days, Spazzy! because that case may be shatter proof, but I have confidence in you that you'll find a way around it. :D

* Picc's proposal: Go with what your heart tells you, Picc! It's you that is proposing after all.. In my case, I asked my lady to marry me 7 days after we met. No ring, no nothing.. Her answer "what took you so long?". That was 9 years ago. She won't let me buy her a diamond solitaire and has warned me that she will return it if I do. I guess her not being able to wear jewelry all day while at work may have something to do with why she is not bling friendly.

All the other highlights, we've been chatting up on FB, so y'all already know my thoughts. ;)

Have an awesome Wednesday!

HEY ARMY! How y'all doing..
3 weeks till I get my ring.. :O Estimated arrival of July 22nd and estimated proposal of July 23rd :)
I have a basic idea of where I'll do it but I'm not putting much fuss into it..
Before me and my lady started dating we hung out in the park by the Whitestone bridge for about 3 months almost every day over coffee and just chatted.
She was "dating" someone else who wasn't giving her 100% and we just bonded I think with conversation and good times. The moment they broke up I swept in and since then we really haven't gone back as much.. I figure that's a great place and a great setting so close under the bridge :) I'm not one for OMG moments with candles and bla bla bla so what ya think?

I think it sounds perfect!

As for the ring pop.. or something silly, you could have it on hand in case the ring needs to be sized or something? One of my friends got engaged last year, and the proposal was like yours, in some place with sentimental meaning. He had a photographer friend hide in the bushes and got some beautiful candid shots of the moment. It added to the sweetness with out going over the top.
Can't wait to hear how it went...

Speechless.......

You too Dusty?! Sheesh! Make 1 (or two or three) little booboo's and it never goes away. :sneaky:

Sorry Robin! Happy Belated Anniversary!! I forgot to mention that in my update. :)

Thank goodness this is my last day of work until Monday. Four day weekend coming up, beer in the beer fridge all nice and cold, grass all cut and everything looking good now that it rained this morning, and Mom planning a nice cookout for the 4th. YUM!

Speaking of rings...the only jewelry I wear besides earrings everyday is a simple cheap mood ring bought by my son from his elementary school fund raiser years ago. He gave it to me and I've worn it ever since on my middle finger on my left hand. That ring means more to me than any other piece of jewelry I've ever had.
