“The average tobacco cigarette contains about 12mg of nicotine with amounts typically ranging between 8-20mg; however, more important than the overall nicotine content is the amount of nicotine your body absorbs via smoking, which is about 1-2mg per cigarette.”

And that's how they get you to smoke two packs a day. It's a marketing tactic to boost sales. I'll stay with my ecig any day. Haven't had a real cigarette since my first year of vaping. I tapered down and finally didn't buy another pack. I was amazed! I could have quit much sooner and didn't know it. vaping works.

This is the amount of nic absorbed from a cigarette that I just picked up from Google. The next entry on the Google list said 0.2mg absorbed per cig so who knows. To keep the math simple I went with 1mg per cig.

At last. Someone who has also read this. Hooray.

An experienced 'user' will extract more than a newbie. We know exactly how much nicotine is available in the smoke because it says so on the side of the packet. That's a robot and that's very accurate machine testing. BUT, read on.**

You are actually very accurate in your assessment. A cigarette does indeed contain 10-12mg before smoking. A robot draws out about 1mg (0.7 for lites) and a newbie smoker will stuggle to keep up with the robot and even then we don't know the yield.
*The tobacco companies also cheated so they could say the robot only got 0.2mg easily.* The yield can only be measured by reading the blood. An experienced smoker beats the robot by a long, long way.

Something like that. :)

I don't know how much is absorbed from a cigarette but I remember waking up in the mornings having a smoke and getting a buzz from it. Not sure it was nicotine or CO2. Or something else in them.

I can feel the nicotine in vape especially first vape of the day. Don't get a buzz off it though.

That is because the addiction to smoking is not just nicotine. It is a multifaceted addiction that emcompasses so much more -- The physcial, the emotional, behavorial, social, visual addictions also associated with smoking are never addressed with just a nicotine over the counter product. That is the genius of e-gics. It does it all. :)

I have never read or watched anything from this person. My opinion stems from me smoking cigarettes for over 40 years and knowing this addiction inside out.
I was never so glad to find e-cigs.

Some of is likely to be the effect that smoke has on your oxygen levels. Smoke one and hot box it and you get lightheaded and dizzy. I used to experience that when I rushed out to the smoking area and burned one in a hurry to get back to work. It wears off in a few minutes as your Oxygen levels recover.
