Hello there. I have been browsing the forums for a while and figured I would sign up... I have never tried any of these eCigs before, and am really nervous about it actually. So... I'm going to read as much as I can on here. Not expecting a WHOLE bunch of responses since I'm sure everything that can be said to newbies are probably posted somewhere on here.

A little about me? I'm 23, from Texas, a web programmer (actually that's when I smoke most of my cigs is when I'm working...) and I've been smoking for 5 years. I'm also currently in school again and when I sit through a 4 hour lecture the first thing I do when I get out is light up 3 or for cigs back to back and have a coffee.

I currently smoke Perique Blend (Black) American Spirits. 1 - 2 packs a day depending on my work load. I'm sick of the morning smokers mouth, the smell...

The thing I'm most afraid of in choosing one of these e-cig things is that it might not work. I realize you can choose the potency of what you smoke, flavors, etc etc... but I don't want to spend a lot of money on a product that turns out to be bogus, or will feel like I'm just taking a drag of air-- because oddly enough I'm hooked on the feeling I get in my throat of the heavy smoke.

So... any tips would be appreciated. Or even just a hello would be nice. :)

Oh-- and I have to admit, I'm a fan of fun colors... I did find some of these products in pink but I don't want to base my purchase on that alone... If you know of any nice reputable brands with fun colors though that would be wonderful.

XOXO

Love your user name and welcome to the forum. The best advice I can give is go to the Suppliers forums and read the reviews of their products before you make your decision.

There are lots of ex-smokers here that smoked 2-3-4 packs a day so I'm sure you'll find an ecigarette that will make you happy.

There is really nothing to be nervous about, the majority of the folks on this forum will go out of their way to help you and to answer your questions to the best of their ability.

Most people suggest the Joye510 as a starter kit you can get a no box starter kit from cignot.com for $35.00. It is the only one I have used I have only been vaping 3 weeks but it did get me off the analogs. Do not forget to pick up some juice with anything that you do order you might think you want tobacco flavor now but you might want to pick up one non tobacco flavor that might appeal to you also.

Based on all of the criteria that you have listed. It sounds like the Vapor King will be the one for you. Just got mine a couple of days ago and I am in heaven!

Let's see:

Good throat hit: check
As much vapor as an analog smokes: check
Maintenance free: double check
Flavor galore: check
Affordable: check
Cool colors: check
Top-Notch customer service: triple check

You can actually change up the different colors to fit your style if you like. The cartomizers are actually different colors depending on the flavor. There are 6 different color batteries to choose from, oh and did I mention maintenance free?

I do not work for Vapor4Life, but I do own a Vapor King and I will never purchase a different PV again. For more info and reviews, take a peak in this thread: Vapor4Life - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

I was in the SAME EXACT position as you - I don't have a ton of money to throw around on something that wont work AND all I wanted was a good hit, that fullness in your lungs - I love it more than nicotine! I just bought the Joye510 and I recieved it 2 days ago - you inhale slow and steady and you get a GREAT hit - it feels just like a cigarette to me but tastes better. I read that the higher the nicotine in the juice the better the hit - so I got a 36 mg(nicotine) RY4(flavor) - great hit. I seriously was so shocked - last nite I was smoking something ... green ::wink wink:: and that is always when I want a cigarette the most and when my will power is the lowest and I just started puffing my 510 and it was great it felt better than a cigarrete! You wont be dissapointed!

Welcome to the forum! I've been vaping since the end of may use to smoke a half a pack to a pack a day and the day i got my e-cig was the day i quit smoking analogs. My first e-cig was a VX2 from litecig.net love it still to this day, The second one i bought was a 510 from innovapor another great product, Yesterday recieved my Vapor King and im very happy with it... It might take you a lil while to find the flavor for you and the e-cig for you, there are alot of things to think about such as size of the e-cig, battery life and flavor from ur e-cig, pass thrus which connect to ur USB port of ur computer desktop/laptop and those are good cause you have endless battery power great for sittin at ur computer and vaping away.... Then you have some e-cigs that have PCC's personal charging cases which are great for charging batteries on the go and then car adapters another great item to have.

The USB passthrough definitely rocks. It beats dealing with the hassle of charging or swapping batteries. I used to smoke way too much while on the computer, now I don't feel guilty about vaping and already I am breathing much easier. I only have the 501 right now and I have a VaporKing on the way but it sounds like either of those are good choices.

Welcome ButtLips.

I have 2 pieces of advice I will offer, take your time and do your research. The more reading you do the happier you will be with your end purchase. What ever model you get if you will spend a lot of time near a usb port get a passthrough, I love mine for when I'm in the car or at the computer.

I read articles and looked at product for a little over a month before I purchased my 510.

Hey Buttlips, I am in the same position as you. I just started looking into e-cigs last week and ordered my first one, an SS Micro. About 30 mins after ordering it I discovered this forum, since then I have been reading up and I ordered a Joye 510 as well. Can't wait for them to get here so I can get off the analogues, because I like you am sick of the smell.

Wow lowwkeyy, what a kind and thoughtful offer. I hope she? takes you up on it. :) Bet you have alot of friends and they love you alot.

Buttlips:

Welcome to ECF. You can't ask for a better chance to get to try a few PV's to get an actual feel for what they are like. I hope you decide to meet lowwkeyy to give it a try and understand what it is all about.

Both of you though please do remember to meet in a VERY public place. And it is always best to take a friend with you, and let someone else know where you will be too.
