First off, Hello, and second HELP ME!?
Hello to you and welcome to ECF Forums. Glad you found us.
I am 26 years old, have been smoking 'analogs' as you guys seem to put them for 10 years solid, I am tired of this crap and I want an alternative! Is Vaporing for me? I dunno. I am too darn afraid to invest to find out! I search online for testimonials and the best place to purchase these products but ALWAYS end up changing my mind! So frustrating. I just want to quit smoking cigarettes, but I cannot leave my habit cold turkey... I am NOT strong enough at this point. What can I do? I smoke a pack a day minimum, Kool Milds (Gotta have menthol!) Everything seems too confusing, there are SOOO many products and now I see you can refill your own '...' hell I don't even know what you refill!
Congratulations on your decision to come here and seek out information from people who are vaping and people who have been in exactly the same position as you are in. You are not alone in your search for information. This forum is a wealth of information and is filled with wonderful people who will do everything in their power to get answers to all your questions. Remember: There is no such thing as a dumb question. All questions deserve an answer and each question is important. So keep the questions coming.
Some places say refilling on your own is DANGEROUS. Others say they do it with no problem.
Hundreds of Thousands of vapers use the refill method every day. I would be leary of anyone that states refilling is Dangerous. That sounds like a scare tactic to me.
Some people recommend the SUPER expensive products!
Vaping does not need to be expensive. It can be if you get carried away with wanting the newest, fastest, biggest, brightest, etc. Vaping can and does save most of us a ton of money every month.
Others say vaporing doesn't work at all!
Vaping is not for everyone. I would venture to say that 99% of the people who try it do just fine with it. There will always be people who can not vape. There can be a variety of reasons why it may not work for them. The only way you will know if it will work for you is if you decide to give it a try.
Who out there smokes or used to smoke a pack of mentholated cigarettes a day who now vaporizes can give me some advice?
I smokes 1 1/2 + packs a day for 45yrs. However, I have not smoked menthol. Smoking is smoking. Finding a menthol juice to suit your tastes is what you need to focus on. Others here will gladly help you with that task.
What do you use?
I use eGo's, Riva's and ProVape-1. I use juices from several suppliers. Not every juice a supplier makes is to my liking. Each person has his/her own idea as to what tastes good and what does not taste good.
Where do you get it?
Equipment: 99.9% of my equipment comes from Liberty Flights
Juice: Want2Vape, Freedom Smoke USA, Gourmet Vapors, Backwoods Brew, Prime Vaping and a few others.
Is there any easier way to get the stuff I need locally?
Many communities have e-cig suppliers. ECF forum has a huge list of suppliers. People here will gladly help you find the nearest good supplier in your area.
Or is it all online?
Most e-cig suppliers have an online store. Many allow people to come to them to purchase equipment and juices. Note: I said many - not all.
Does it really work?!
It worked for me. I smoked for 45+ yrs and stopped smoking the day my e-cig equipment arrived. I had to work through a couple trying days, but I upped my nicotine juice level and bit and breezed right through those trying times. Remember: you will go through a detoxing period. Your body is used to tobacco and all the the chemicals found in cigarettes. it is not easy. It is not impossible. Hundreds of thousands of us have done it and will help you if we can. Just shout out that you are needing some help. ok? ok.
I need to feel it hit my lungs, that's the biggest thing I think.
The equipment you decide to use and the juices you use will be the deciding factor in throat hit and taste.
So anyways, I am sorry if there's already a thread out there like mine and I sound like a broken record. Also, I am sorry if I have overstepped any rules or regulations. As you may tell, I am brand new to vaporing and I just want an alternative to smoking cigs. Can anyone help?
I hope my notes here have helped a little. There are many people at this forum with more knowledge and experience than I have. They are always willing to help too.
RunDown: I smoke a pack of mentholated cigs a day
Looking for an alternative
Does vaporing really work well enough to stop smoking cigs
My budget is around $100 at this point
In my opinion, you will need a battery large enough to keep you going. The general rule of thumb is small batteries mean short vaping time before they need to be recharged. Larger batteries are longer running times and require less vaping time. I started with the small battery 510 and outgrew it in about 4 days. I switched to the eGo's and Riva's and have had excellent results with them. I have been vaping for about 11 months. They are still serving me well.
Liberty Flights is the supplier I know most about. They offer complete Riva 510 kits for about $30. They also offer complete eGo kits for about $39. They provide all members of ECF forum a 20% discount on all orders. They ship via Priority Mail and your entire order ships for just $2.99. They also have a juice selection. They are known for excellent customer service. The USA office is located in San Diego.
Thank you all for reading my long rant!!! and for any help available!!!
