First off, Hello, and second HELP ME!?

I am 26 years old, have been smoking 'analogs' as you guys seem to put them for 10 years solid, I am tired of this crap and I want an alternative! Is Vaporing for me? I dunno. I am too darn afraid to invest to find out! I search online for testimonials and the best place to purchase these products but ALWAYS end up changing my mind! So frustrating. I just want to quit smoking cigarettes, but I cannot leave my habit cold turkey... I am NOT strong enough at this point. What can I do? I smoke a pack a day minimum, Kool Milds (Gotta have menthol!) Everything seems too confusing, there are SOOO many products and now I see you can refill your own '...' hell I don't even know what you refill!

Some places say refilling on your own is DANGEROUS. Others say they do it with no problem. Some people recommend the SUPER expensive products! Others say vaporing doesn't work at all!

Who out there smokes or used to smoke a pack of mentholated cigarettes a day who now vaporizes can give me some advice? What do you use? Where do you get it? Is there any easier way to get the stuff I need locally? Or is it all online? Does it really work?! I need to feel it hit my lungs, that's the biggest thing I think.

So anyways, I am sorry if there's already a thread out there like mine and I sound like a broken record. Also, I am sorry if I have overstepped any rules or regulations. As you may tell, I am brand new to vaporing and I just want an alternative to smoking cigs. Can anyone help?

RunDown: I smoke a pack of mentholated cigs a day
Looking for an alternative
Does vaporing really work well enough to stop smoking cigs
My budget is around $100 at this point

Thank you all for reading my long rant!!! and for any help available!!!

yes it works. just buy a good kit (use search function). Once the ecig arrives you'll have more and different questions; ask or use the search function again. From there you will sort of evolve into a vaper; you'll find bigger, better PV's and so on.

From my experience, the best way of learning is hands on learning, however, this forum is like a lexicon about vaping.

PS. I smoked 13 years and quit analogs on day 2 of my vaping adventure.

Hi Levitas
Im new here as well.
Well, your definately headed in the right direction.
Vaping does work as an alternative.
With your budget, you should be able to get everything that you need.
There is no perfect setup, no perfect juice, you just have to experiment until you find what you like, and works best for you.
I would suggest a 510 EGO big battery, and some good BOGE cartomizers, and some good juice.
Yes refil your own cartomizers. And go from there.
Hope this helps, and good luck.

Awesome name by the way. I love DeadSpace.

Yes, normally I would just search for what I was looking for. Problem is, I don't know what I am looking for! I don't really have alot of money to be experimenting with numerous companies/PV's. Honestly I was just kind of hoping for someone in my similar situation that could recommend something specific that worked for them.

I am not sure what a lexicon is but I assume that means something like 'huge' or 'well informed'. That's awesome that you quit because of vaping!!! It really is, that gives me hope!

So you can feel it in your lungs really well? What kit do you use? Do you refill on your own? What is it that you're refilling if you do? Thank you for responding!!!

You don't have to break to the bank to get a good starter kit. I rec something with two batteries, at least two atomizers or cartomizers and a couple small bottles of juice, then see how you like it from there or maybe try a disposable kit. If you like it and think it might work then you can use the rest of the money for more stuff. Liberty flights, Cignot and Good Prophets are who I recommend for a good starter kit.

Yes , I think vaping works Lev...this sept it will be 2 years since I smoked a cigarette..
The minute I picked up my e-cig , I never turned back...look up helpful info in ECF's Library it has every topic covered in there from
the different E-cigs to how to use them ,to refilling carts Etc...Its not dangerous to refill them at all with taking the proper care to do so .
Welcome to ECF...I think if you make the choice to vape you will be very glad you did!!!!

I got my PV about 7 hrs ago, haven't felt the need for an analog since. So yes it does work. If your not sure if it will work for you go to one of the reputable vendors mentioned in this forum, most of the ones that sell PV's sell "disposables" they run about $10. I picked up a disposable and having been a pack a day smoker it lasted me about a day (during which I didn't smoke any analogs). Before that day was up I was searching these forums and placing the order for my PV. Granted the diposable didn't work as well as the PV I bought but it was good enough to sell me on vaping and it was a pretty cheap experiment. So that would be my advice to you if you are unsure about it. They make menthol disposables too.

Excellent advice! Where do you get said products from? Is there a better source or are they generally the same price everywhere?

I would suggest a ego-t kit good battery life super easy to fill no muss no fuss vaping. The juice that finally got me to totally give up cigs was freedomsmoke usa Purecig menthol 30mg. Taste just like a ashy menthol cig I haven't had a analog in 2 months They also sell the ego-t kits. There is also a coupon code on the web page for 10% off

A pack of menthol a day for around 40 years so it can be done.
Get the eGo, Riva, or something like it. A good mod will work too. Whatever you decide just make sure it has a long battery life because you'll fast get tired of charging every hour or two.
Refilling isn't going to hurt you as long as you are careful.

Don't get impatient and read.

It's not that expensive to try it and if you trully want to quit regular cigs then I have a hard time understanding your reluctance to at least try vaping. As to the danger of refilling your own, well I guess you could get sick if you bathed in juice. I don't know how hard it would be to OD on the stuff? but I imagine it would take quite a bit to do it to someone who smokes a pack or more of analogs a day? I have vaped to where I can tell I've over did it but at least my lungs will look and feel good when I die. : )

Yes, get the eGo or Riva kit:

The battery will last about 8 hours per charge. Also get a couple of boxes of cartomizers to try out (half the vapers prefer them over the standard atomizer/cartridge combo - so they're worth looking into). Plus, you can search for eGo on youtube and get a million videos about how to use them etc...

I think the cheapest one you'll find is a Liberty Flights ($40), you have to click on their 20% banner to get the special price:
20% off your whole order!

FWIW: I smoked for 25 years, camel filters. It took me two days to totally switch over to e-cigs. Here's a poll about e-cigs efficacy:

I know, I've never seen such a selection before this site though. I was thinking about investing $100-$200 for Green Smoke or the Safe Cig and I didn't want to throw that much cash down if it wasn't going to work.

Currently I am reading the library articles for more information. I will check that link for where to purchase products (specifically temp. Vaps)

You're right though. If this is indeed a safer alternative then why not try it? Well, I am a full time college student/father with not alot of money so if I am to make an investment I am hoping that I won't have to buy cigarettes again. Thank you for your help!

It can be a bit overwhelming. Here's a breakdown of what I got & how much I spent:

2x Ego Mega manual batteries
2x Ego Mega LR atomizers
2x 5 pack of Ego Mega cartridges
1x Ego rapid USB charger
3x 10ml 18mg tobacco flavored juice
1x 5ml eliquid syringe (turns out was unnecessary)

Grand total $106.45

Spent another $70 (give or take) on DIY juice making supplies which should last me at least a month (if not longer) most of the measuring stuff (blunt tipped syringes, empty bottles for juice, disposable pipettes, etc.) won't need to be replaced for quite some time (if at all). Considering I spent about $180 a month on analogs that ain't bad. I estimate my monthly cost for juice mixing supplies (PG, VG, Nic juice, flavorings) to be around $60 (give or take) but I won't know for sure till this month is over.

I started with a Green Smoke but knowing what I know now I would go with a product that is recamended by the people here like a Joye Ego or 510 type kit. GS is not a bad product but it's expensive and it uses E9 or KD808D-2 type setup and there are more common popular types like the KD808D-1, 510s, 901 etc... that are cheaper kits starting out and easier to get parts for. The Ego is very popular and gets great reveiws. If I was starting now I would have bought one.

So if I were to want to buy this for me and my fiancee, we should at least get two batteries and atomizers a piece you think?

If you are really tight on funds you can either add an extra eGo battery (or two) or, if one of you is usually near a computer, an eGo passthrough.

Ideally, both should have their own kit. Otherwise you'll one day find yourself waiting 4 hours one day because one persons batt needs to charge (couple hours) and then the other persons batt needs to charge ('nother couple hours).

If you get the Riva Lite Bundle from Liberty Flights and click the 20% button first, they are only $30 each.
