Hello Levi, My wife smoked for 20 + years, a pack every other day, I bought her a 510 starter kit, she rolled her eyes,,BUT has not had a real cigarette in over a month,,the BIG thing with her was the mental/psychological/physical habit of smoking, and she can still satisfy that urge without a real cigarette, the big test was the phone marathon with her sister on Wed nights, , well she made it thru puffing on her e-cig and the next mnorning did not wake up wheezing and feeling like crap, so YES these things work, but youre lucky you found this sight, these people will answer all your questions,,GOOD LUCK

Yes you'll both want a kit and you will need some juice unless you get pre-filled cartomizers. Filling/refilling yourself can be a fair bit cheaper. if your both only menthol smokers that will make juice selection much easier. I would suggest starting out around 18mg strength. The PG/VG ratio will depend on what you want out of it. More PG = more throat hit and flavor but less vapor, more VG = more vapor but less throat hit and flavor.

So I am on liberty flights website right now and I am looking at the Joye Ego products. Specifically the Joye Ego 510 for price effeciency. So I should buy a kit for both me and my fiancee and what else do I need? Some liquid?

If you are really tight on funds you can either add an extra eGo battery (or two) or, if one of you is usually near a computer, an eGo passthrough.

Ideally, both should have their own kit. Otherwise you'll one day find yourself waiting 4 hours one day because one persons batt needs to charge (couple hours) and then the other persons batt needs to charge ('nother couple hours).

If you get the Riva Lite Bundle from Liberty Flights and click the 20% button first, they are only $30 each. The Riva510 is the same as the eGo, just a different manufacturer.

You'll also need e-liquid in a variety of strengths and flavors. Most people like 24mg, but some like higher and some like lower -- you won't know what will work for you until you try it.

Most people use about 3ml per day (so you'll do a bit of math). And I still recommend you try some 510 cartomizers too.

Good luck :)

Thank you.

I am going to buy two kits, one for each of us. So about 6mL a day for both of us.

Should I buy anything else additional, or just what the kit has to try it all out?

I was pretty much in the same situation as you. 28 and smoking those disgusting things for a decade. I was also el cheapo and was scared to invest. Well...I got my tornado tank on 2/11 and haven't looked back since. Best $90 I ever spent. You can get them cheaper if you search for ego-t. My wife said it was the best valentines day gift ever that I stopped those analogs.

While everyone is recommending the eGo/Riva style do keep in mind they are cigar sized. Depending on where and when you smoke, they do attract attention, The XL KR-808D1 lasts 3-4 hours and look like long cigarettes and less strange to others even if you get them in fun colors. I drip on eGos at home and use the cartomizers on KR-808D1s out in public. I used only KR808 for the first 2 months and found it easy to quit with them. The KR808 5V passthrus are inexpensive at $12 on sale and give great high voltage vape and flavor for either time at home or in the car with a $5 auto USB adapter.

They sell .95 adapters at Good Prophets to use KR808 cartos on egos or 510/ego atomizers on KR808 batteries.

My humble advice is not to overbuy at first. You won't know what you like until you try it. Vaping styles and preferences are very subjective. All the top notch vendors on this forum deliver in days, so you can always order more when you get a feel for your preferences. Your fiance may also like something totally different than you.

What SilentSoldier said.... also, check the suppliers section of the forum, several of the suppliers offer sample packs of juice so you can try 5-6 different flavors without getting stuck with a big bottle of juice you hate, you'll probably be amazed what you like (I love apple flavored liquid, don't hardly eat apples...)

I am having trouble figuring out what to do with my order at Liberty. The kit I am purchasing says it comes with 5 tobacco carts but I want menthol (so obviously I will have to purchase separate carts and liquid?) or is there a way to request menthol filled carts with my order? If there is I am having trouble figuring it out.

You could try to request menthol, honestly though the carts are just a taste. You can rinse them out and fill them with whatever flavor you like.

A what???

Instead of using a cartridge you can put a "drip tip" on the end of the atomizer. This allows you to drip 2-3 drops of e-liquid directly into the atomizer and vape that way (IMO, easier than messing with carts). You can get about 10 inhales before you have to drip more into it so not very convenient when driving etc...
