gently move the colored wires to the right, and you should be able to just lightly grasp it on the top and bottom of the green part by the heatsink and swing it back towards you.

I belive this is a similar setup

Upgrading the Dell Dimension 2400 - YouTube

hope it helps!

That looks easy enough. I have what is probably a very stupid question though. Can I do this with my PC running?

No! Do not fiddle inside a computer with it running. Turn it off, disconnect the power cable from the back of it, before you get your fingers in there. Any jiggling of wires, and you could cause a mini-short that would cause you more headaches than you would want to deal with. My 2 c's.

Ok, ok....I get it. I'm going to wait until this monster project is complete. I don't want to risk having it start all over again or lose a weeks worth of work. Thank you all for your help and your warnings. I knew you all would say NO but I had to ask anyway. :p

I'm surprised sashwa didn't jump in here and chew me up for even thinking about it.

Quickly climbing the ECF F@H team ladder!

How is everyone else's folding going?

I've completed the same number WUs as you and have 1/3 the points. Lol

Now I'm on a multi-day unit so I will steadily drop in ratings for another 2 or 3 days.

Other than that, I'm Fine. Thanks for asking!

Relax, Enjoy!

The heatsink is the large aluminum block that sits on top of your cpu. Thermal paste is a silver compound that helps the cpu stay flush with the heatsink and therefore stay cool..

The thermal paste or dialectic compound can be picked up at your local radio Shack or pc store. But it's not to keep the heatsink level it transfers the heat from the cpu to the heatsink faster and more evenly. It should also be replaced about every 6 months or more

I did to at first now my points aren't really growing. I dropped like 7 ranks on the team list yesterday. I got 7k within 5 or 6 hours and about another 400 from a day and a half.. not sure what's going on.

Not really worried about the points though as pong as the wu are getting done. =)

It's gotta be a better day today. I got my F@H title last night and this morning I'm showing that I'm 54th. Hope this is a good sign for things to come. Maybe this next week I'll be able to sneek it onto a few more comps. Unsure if I should at this time, but I got a few days to think about a lot of things.
Go team ECF!!!!!!!!
