The way I see it, this runs in the background without stopping me from browsing the Web. That unused CPU power is being put to good use so I am extremely happy to offer it up for a good cause. I am so proud of the ECF community and to be a part of said community. We have come together for a great cause in a very awesome way.
Too bad that would destroy battery life and would only be able to handle the smallest wok units. Yeah I thought about this too for android lol.

When mines on I can't do anything else. It makes everything very slow. So it sits paused while I'm on the computer and starts up everytime I get off of it.
Something is wrong here. I have an old PC running at 100% and it hasn't slowed me down at all.
Perhaps it is because it is using my video cards as well. Not sure. Even running in my down time I'm climbing the ranks though =)
That's probably it. I'm not using my vid card. Good to know you're climbing the ranks. I'm still working on the first monster wu they threw at me.
I only pause my vid card slot when I am on my computer. I unpause the gpu slot when I know my rig will be idle for awhile, and overnight.
I can't get any footing back in the rankings ...even with the large file that completed today. And I can't pause a single WU - it's always both - what's up with that?

Just saw this thread, and remembered the whole "all of humanity's computers together" thing from SETI. I signed up, and will get my work computer going, as well. This is the kind of thing that makes me glad to be part of this community. Go ECF!
Yep, me too. I used to help on the SETI projects, too. Seems I read something a few months ago that they were still working to get that all back up and running, but haven't checked back on it since then.

Yeah I went from 31st to 18th. I'm not sure if my eta's are wrong or what but all the 7 day ones I get I finish in about a day or just slightly more.
